Mark Wahlberg's performance is rightly praised but every Baldwin scene was gold too. I don't know if his character is supposed to be Irish too but he really gave off that rough Boston vibe, like he might have been a bartender just as well as a detective.
I never got why he was so mean to Billy Costigan for what seemed like no reason - maybe to toughen him up and test his breaking point? Yes he had a mouth with everyone but not as vicious as with Costigan.
I'm fckin creeped out. I'm watching the movie and wanted to see some quotes to laugh again and I somehow lined up Mr. French and Billy's cranberry juice exchange perfectly....
