If i were given the choice between having a roomful of pre-1965 Fenders and Gibsons, and a roomful of pre-war Martins OR Uncle Larry's chops, I would choose Uncle Larry's chops with zero hesitation 😃
Yeh i guess that does make more sense. I just think Tonemaster has been fairly successful and boss could revisit that price point amplifier in response - i dont think that first waza one was terribly popular even in the wake of the huge success on Katana - youd think it wouldve driven more people to the top of the tree so to speak.
Fender are the worlds best at leaving products that need attention and releasing something else haha. I hope the tonemaster pro gets alot of support though, like line 6 levels of support
Thanks for checking it out, and it does make sense right?? Especially now they own mesa - which thats a separate thing on wether or not they should build the reissues haha
... to add to Fender making the most of 70th Anniversary... They are already selling them. Although, it's only a pro II & player that I can see now. So, early 70th to cash in on any Christmas buyers. 😂
What i really want from the katana is a dedicated footswitch similar to the ga-fc but with an expression pedal and integrated tuner (that work with mkI also)
That would be something! They would likely have to become part of the ‘BAD’ family to do it competitively and i dont think thats likely. So of course they could go at it themselves but….. its pretty out of their wheelhouse imo
I've really not thought about this. However, since Dave's, Frusciante vid, I've thought about that a little. Of all the current/recent signature models only J Mascis versions speak to me & that includes Johnny Marr jag that I totally respect, with mods that totally make, sense, but really is not for me. Frusciante on the other hand I'd very much care about, but I can't get my head around what Fender would achieve, other than sales (obviously). So, what would a player want? A guitar priced competively? A guitar that looks the part, but doesn't especially nail the tones or feel? A faithful recreation, keeping in mind, that it's still just a recreation? I don't think I'd want to see an inexpensive recreation, just so fender can bang out sales. I'd prefer to see a model fitting of the player we love. I'd not be able to afford it, but could marvel at the amazing copy. Afterall, you really don't need a John strat to get John tones. And nobody can exactly get John tones as we don't have his fingers. Not to mention John gets John tones no matter what guitar he's using. 🤣 Cheers man. *Note... I couldn't take it any longer. I bought a jag yesterday night. Store not open here yet, so not sure when it will leave and arrive here., but they did tell me they'd pack it asap once I placed the order. Very excited!
Sales is number 1 to a company like fender right especially after the recent over production of guitars across most areas. It could even be they only do an expensive one in the hope it sells some more sunburst’s currently in the inventory haha. It puts that model and colour firmly in the spotlight of Frusciantes first ever official signature guitar, bound to make a difference globally. And totally right on not needing the Frusciante guitar to get his tones, but that can be said for nearly anybody’s signature guitar i guess, greeny being a great and current example. Nice one getting the Jag! Hope you enjoy it!
@@Paul-D I just read a reply on another channel about a custom shop tele in burst with binding and the dude said something like: I've never really liked bursts they are for my dads generation, (but this model is growing on me). I've never found them to look dated, I guess, but then again I'm likely that dudes dad's generation. 🤣 Butterscotch or burst for a tele never date, they are classic. It's other colours that likely you'd tire of, although if you want to make a statement there's plenty of funky options. Yup, I feel you are right... And perhaps this is why signature models don't appeal to me. In so many ways they just don't make sense, unless you're in the fender marketing dept. For John though, I'd want to see a truly amazing guitar that I feel is worthy of one of our dearly loved guitar heroes. *Spoke with the store... They were concerned about shipping over the weekend where it's likely a guitar could sit in a depot with serious heat. I assume that's something not ever considered in your neck of the woods. Mastery and antiquities on a jg66, the guitar belonged to a gigging muso, so I'm expecting a keeper. I spoke with the luthier, who was flat chat working on a bunch of guitars for King Giz & he went over it with me, giving it the thumbs up. Happy Christmas if you don't get the time to make another vid beforehand. Best to you and all concerned. 🍻
We all grow up eventually 😅 Actually, during my shop time i never shipped a guitar on a weekend once because i didn’t like the idea of guitars sitting in depots or in a drivers van. But yeh most shops would just ship and not care haha.

Its a good choice!
I think the katana 3 is mostly likely

@@Paul-D I can sort of see that but then they also have the tonemaster pro pedal out that needs attention.

Cool video. I like the Gibson reissue amp idea the best for sure. Thanks!

Thank you for your thoughts ! Very interesting !
I won't be dropping any more money on a Fender until I see a Dave Simpson tribute model on the shelves.
Haha closest to that would be a custom oswald in the dave red over sunburst - thinks hes made quite a few of those now!

That's mad lol. Couldn't even wait until the actual anniversary haha.
Fender Mustang 60th Anniversary

Yeh its a good shout, i dont see why it couldnt work with the mk1
Marshall will release irx style versions of all their amps.
