We have the same taste in music. Arctic Monkeys are my favorite band. Followed by almost anything Jack White.

Marty always lightens the mood
Time to give credit where credit is due. Marty is the qbsolute, without question, greatest guitar teacher out there. Every element of what goes in to teaching and teaching well is right here. His Non-judgemental approach to every lesson makes me WANT to learn and push myself. What is apparent is that this man has the gift of musical talent, mixed with an equally important gift of getting through to his students without badgering or forcing them to play "his way or its wrong" Marty will stop what hes teaching to give alternatives to the standard ways, to open us up to different techniques to form different sounds. Kudos to you Marty, you unassuming lil Jew who comes out of nowhere as one of the most unpretentious genius's in his craft. After a bad fall qbout three years ago (i have narcolepsy) left me with a broken left wrist, broken pinkie and 3 broken metatarsals on the top of my left hand. For 8 weeks i had to sit and wait until the cast came off to know if i could even pick up a guitar with that hand let alone play one. Flash forward and find that i had a LOT of rehabbing, a lot of retraining, and some rededication to my craft in front of me, but it could be done. First it was getting my strength back, then every day for at least 6- 8 hours a day. I had one of my guitars in my hand. And when i felt confident enough i decided it was time to push myself even more. This is where Marty came in to my existence...if you are any kind of musician, you know tgat self doubt is CRIPPLING! I happened upon a tutorial that i thought would be a good fit and by the time i was done, i was laughing, having a great time just learning a song...ever since, ive learned more from this mans you tube tutorials then i care to admit. There is a reason he is the King, my friends. He sneaks up on you....thank you Marty!! You are appreciated!!

This is the only tutorial of yours that i feel like i need to watch 5 other tutorials breaking down other pieces of what you're doing. Normally your tutorials are phenomenal, but this feels very pumped out.

Hey, I need some help. I am a 15 year old guitarist, and I'm trying to get better at lead. I know the pentatonic scale and I love to improvise with it, I also know it with the that bluesy diminished note on the A string. I practice my improvising by playing over Pink Floyd songs, lol. But I am starting to feel a little bored with it, and I don't know if there are any other scales that I can use or if the pentatonic scale is the only scale and you just have to add modes to it? I am really confused there. Every time I look up scales, all that comes up is the pentatonic scale. Are there any other scales that I can learn, and Marty if you see this, please help me out. Or if anyone else can help me. Thanks. 😊
