I have NEVER SEEN an more expressive ballerina than Clariemarie Osta. Every movement, every arch speaks volume of emotion. And her technique is so strong that she appears to be so light on stage (I think she has the power to levitate) and yet her control of her body is impeccable it's as if she's flying in thin air. Amazing to watch!

Yes, it's technically impressive but I feel like the main point is that she LOVES the MUSIC and is WITH the movement of the music. She emphasizes everything that goes WITH the musical phrase and de-emphasizes what is is in between. The arms lead so beautifully into the musical phrase. Yes, it is a great technical feat; it surely is so because I watched this choreography performed twice before and I could not tell how it related to the music.

@@marshalldavies4738 Yes you are absolutely correct. This piece of music that she's dancing to is not a dance music in that it doesn't have strong beats or rhythms that it's very difficult for one to match its body movements with the music and yet she not only her dance movements flowed perfectly with the music but she actually created nuances in the music with her body that they essentially became musical phrasing. In essence she created music phrasing with her body. It's absolutely amazing!

Wonderful as always. She was a rarely gifted ballerina. She makes this piece look like improvisation.

Really ? Enjoy ! I had a class with her a few years ago in Paris. In those times she had created a ballet school with her husband Nicolas Le Riche, and I have a great memory of it ! She was amazing !

I love Clairemaire so much! One of my top favourites among ballerinas: beautiful, intelligent, radiant, gracious, harmonious and extremely expressive in every role, in every movement. I have been fortunate to have seen her so many times through her entire career in so many roles. Unforgettable performances with J-G Bart, N. Le Riche, M. Ganio......

This variation is overlong. Toward the end, however gorgeously the ballerina performed, I began to be bored and wanting it to be over. I appreciate Balanchine's most inspired moments which tend to be very intelligent, musically. Especially this is true concerning the larger works involving the corps de ballet. However, the solos and duets go on and on. Also, I do not appreciate Mister B's reliance on symmetry. One move to this side and one move to the other side. Two, to this side -- two, to the other. Too Predictable by far.
