Very in-depth look at the ownership costs and de-appreciation values. I thank you for your research. The tires and brakes were an eye-opener for me with the i30n, but, those brakes and tires come hand in hand with what makes the i30n a superior performance vehicle compared to the Golf gTi.
You lost me at the end when you said you haven't driven either, but based on looks and cost savings alone, you would buy.... If you were going by looks and cost savings alone, why would you drive either. Both of these should be bought based on how they drive and the cost (and possibly the looks) should only be a factor to determine if it is worth it. I would also recommend that you factor in replacement with identical tires for each vehicle in the recommended size.
I guess everyone is different, for me looks are every bit as important as how it drives and cost. If a car looks like crap but drives like a dream I still wouldn’t buy it. A good looking car, I will spend more time cleaning it and it would bring a smile to my face every time I walk up to it. It’s all part of the experience for me. Look at almost all the poster cars of the early 90’s, look like works of art but drove like crap. I’d still love to own one, if I had endless amounts of cash. In the spreadsheet I replaced with identical tires and sizes.
@@SuperKeane I'd say so! Happy with the looks and fun to drive. More power than my old car and better gas mileage. (Old car was a 2007 Subaru impreza wagon) By the way audio sounds very good.
You should title that those prices are maybe okay for Australia. I was shocked to see that those 2 tires are 894 Dollar. These tires cost 135 euro / 202 au dollar each in Germany. Same with the other parts. So the whole list is useless outside of Australia. 😒
Hi Joao, thanks for your feedback. Sorry if I didn’t make it clear, but all my prices are in Australian dollars. I got the prices from a Hyundai Dealership here in Brisbane. If you are buying the i30N in Australia, this is a very good guide. But if in a different country, maybe do your own research. 👍🏼
