Rainbow Life would have stopped him from winning that turn regardless, but he could have avoided the attack from that Fabled Synchro if he had crashed into Obelisk with Cyber End, then used Flash Fusion and Cybernetic Fusion Support to immediately summon Chimeratech Overdragon.
As cyber end attacked obelisk, all I could think of was a massive kaiju who rivaled a god and they battled to the death in a Roman god vs typhon type battle.

It's worthy. But the most recently released decks will have a longer lifetime as competitive decks. For example Crystrons or Mermails + SSA. But if you enjoy Red-Eyes, just go for it. It will be competitive for a long time, take a look at ancient gears, they are still viable and clapping.

You should use power bond and rainbow life to counter it’s negative effect for your advantage
The thing with power bond is you need 7 cards in the hand to do the combo.
