Hey Sean, that program looks like it will definitely help new hunters especially with you mentoring. I've always felt awkward with using the lineman's rope alone and would usually pair it with a tether together when putting up my sticks and platform or treestand. It required a little more maneuvering with both lines, but I felt safer. I have been doing the one stick method the past 2 season's using just a safety line as my tether and repel line. Lately I've been thinking of trying the jrb hitch climbing method since it uses a pretty good no-slack system and he emphasizes safety on his jrb tree climbing channel/website, so we'll see how that goes. I use the SRT climbing method almost exclusively now when I’m not using my climber stand.

Good explanation, i use my lineman as a tether too when saddle hunting by making a large loop with a figure 8 knot.
