I think my favorite thing about the side-by-side comparisons of them both doing the boulder is that at times it sounds like Emil is cheering himself on while climbing
Super nice climbing and really drives home how much a subtle (or not so subtle 😅) angle change can make a huge difference! We need to see more of her climbing 😊
You should try the German Bundesliga. It means nice boulders and on Deutschlandcup days also a world cup format competition of the best climbers of the day. Would be cool to watch you participate.
Emil you are absolutely welcome at a Germany Cup, we also would love to see you competing! Participation is open to everyone, regardless of nationality or place of residence. Next Cups: 19.10. Boulder Base Bremen | 7.12. Studio Bloc Mannheim | 25.01. Bloc-Hütte Augsburg.
Nice to see more from Germany. How about starting at a Boulder Bundesliga event? When its a date with Deutschlandcup you also can win easy money and I guess non Germans are also allowed to start. Auf gehts!💪
It might be an interesting challenge to try to set something that's harder at 0° than at 70°. I'm not sure how you would do it, maybe involving underclings or some weird technique that only works in overhangs.
Idk y, but this really got me thinking that i want to see emil in some kind of comp. Dk y, but it's just so satisfying seeing emil try super hard with other strong climbers.
This was a lot of fun! It looks like adding in 50 degrees for this kind of experiment is worth it, the difficulty seems to ramp up pretty hard past a 45 degree angle
That 60° looks like Mandragora. If you have at 90° and add 30 moves it would be as Nexus , at least it reminded me since I was just watching Ryuichi Murai video catalogue! 😅 (I can’t get how mesmerising that dude movements are) Amazing job as always! Keep smashing it!🤟
Emil!! Thank you SO much for bringing awesome women to your channel, it's very inspiring. Great video as always, loved the editing with the comparisons, keep it up, I love your content and your personality!! ❤😊
I sometimes climb on the kilter at only 10-15 degrees because it's an entirely different style of climbing and I can use smaller holds without it being way too hard to attempt. If you aren't a super strong boulderer, and you only climb on 30 deg+, you're missing a lot of hold and movement variety. My gym is mostly ropes otherwise and the main bouldering area is small so after a session or two between re-setting the problems it gets boring and there's not much to work on so kilter fills that gap.
Honestly I love this concept. Like could I do 60 degrees? Hella no, but maybe I could do 45, then 46, and just keep it going until you can find your project degree and then increase it, feels like a great way to train!
Hey Emil, Nikken was in Berlin the other day, met him in my home gym, the Berta Block, would love to meet you there as well and smash some boulders with you :3
Hard to tell without trying these boulders but sort of looks like you guys are sandbagging yourselves with the grades. I pretty much never see you struggle that much on a 7C+ in your style.
I mean it makes perfect sense. Once you go over 45 degrees your no longer standing on your feet, it's a serious difference. On top of that the holds also become much worse.
This makes me wonder, at what degree does the difficulty truly multiple? Is 41 degrees significanlty harder than 40? Or does not get harder until 47? You should do a video where you do the climb 80 times in a row, going up a degree at a time ;)
Is this orientation thing a reason why kilterboard grades are so inconsistent? I struggled for 30 mins on a v4 the other day, then flashed 2 v7s straight after
When you put a lot of pressure on a hold and your fingers slip off. So instead of being to weak to hold, or letting go, the lack of friction sends you off the wall.
They do, but we set this just for us on a Kilterboard where screwholds would ruin the wall. When the kilter holds were put up they set screwed everything properly
Why so many people here in coments are comparing themeselve to Emil? Just go climb and have fun on Your own limit. What I found great in climbing is that everyone can find his own challenging peace of the wall, that can give a lesson how to be a bigger man. Compering to other climbers is pointless ;)
the fact you felt more difference from 40 to 60 than 0 to 40 is quite logical, if it went from a ladder to 6C most casual climbers will definitely feel it, but to you and Lili it's still warm up lol :p
Damn i really hoped nobody would notice haha.. Although, when I was at Uni my professor was very adamant about using visually incorrect angles to help encourage actual math and not just what we thought the angles looked like, so I'll use that as my excuse
Seeing Emil struggle on a boulder makes me feel better until I realise That he's climbing 10 grades higher than me 😂
We're all just out here hustlin' with the wall
@@EmilAbrahamssonhonestly sometimes I feel like the wall is hustlin' me
Lol what are you doing here

Self-love be like:
😁
Ahaha thank you for pointing this out, really made me chuckle
Emil’s pinch strength is on another level
I think we need to give Emil some credit for how cool these boulders he set turned out. super sick beta for both when it got steep.
Seeing you warm up on grade 8/9 is so humbling 😂
They are actually not that hard in Element Cologne but still very strong😇
Love the editing at 7:00 - 7:10, showing us viewers what you two are visualizing. It makes it really transparent for us!
Shout out to Cordi on the camera!! Great work as always!
Is awesome how Lilli is able to remember in such detail the differences between one hit and another 6:50 . I need that super power. 🤯
Great stuff! Especially liked the side-by-side comparisons of moves at different angles. Lilli - confirmed crusher, jeeeeezus
Super nice climbing and really drives home how much a subtle (or not so subtle 😅) angle change can make a huge difference! We need to see more of her climbing 😊
This was such a fun video! Great to see the climbing comparisons, and great concept! And Lilli is a crusher! Would love to see more collabs with her!

Super wholesome collab. Loved it.
I think my climbing improved just by watching Lilli climb. Such good style
So sick seeing how the beta changed from 40 to 60. You're both such crushers ✌️👍

You mean harder at 0°, not easier? If so, I fully agree, would make an interesting setting challenge and a video too.
Lilli‘s core strength is out of this world
Thanks for always posting interesting and fun content Emil!
And thank you for watching!
Her personality rocks. More of her please
Idk y, but this really got me thinking that i want to see emil in some kind of comp. Dk y, but it's just so satisfying seeing emil try super hard with other strong climbers.
love these kind of videos with kist pure fight ❤
Very cool format, I hope we will see more of this in the future
Uh really enjoyed the compared footage of how you both climb the same boulder side-by-side!
Legends were built at 70
I concur
I think yall sandbagged the lower degree grades
Emil you’re the best. I love your videos!
Very interesting concept.
And very nice video work - I loved the way warm-up was edited!
2:29 the foothold was spinninggggg
The finish hold at 4:28 spun a lil also
Weird
Really cool and interesting perspective on the same route.

Super cool! Now I want to see a boulder that gets easier the steeper it gets. I know it’s possible in theory, but it’d be cool to see an example.
Would be really cool to see you try some of the hard routes in the Bundesliga!
Wow what a cool and strong girl! I like her style 💪

And of course to Emil.

So strong. The girl is so strong
Would have loved to see Matilda give turqouise a shot :)

"allé allé" becomes the only words i know when i watch others climb
Really enjoyed that!
Needed more mag dust to stick to the 70 degree.
Can we get a full kilter sesh?
Hey Emil, Nikken was in Berlin the other day, met him in my home gym, the Berta Block, would love to meet you there as well and smash some boulders with you :3
Ah man that wall on the kilter sounds plasticky and smooth, very little friction
pure grit

Emil den allsmäktige
The overwatch defeat animation xD
there's an Element branch in Cologne!! cool!
Nice video! And I loved the music here, what is it?
Hey Emil, random question but what sweater/size are you wearing here? It looks so good and we’re almost the exact same size
dude in your thumbnail alpha is not 70°
I guess because they didn't send either of the boulders at 70°
Sick concept
And she's fucking strong 😮
She has a wonderful smile, very infectious.
Cordi lurking
I got sweaty hand watching this.
I’d love to see you collaborate with Magnus Mitdbø.
The 0 degree wall with the big holds is the most I can do
This makes me wonder, at what degree does the difficulty truly multiple? Is 41 degrees significanlty harder than 40? Or does not get harder until 47? You should do a video where you do the climb 80 times in a row, going up a degree at a time ;)
How is the white a VB?
she is soooo strong damn
Is this orientation thing a reason why kilterboard grades are so inconsistent? I struggled for 30 mins on a v4 the other day, then flashed 2 v7s straight after
With the kilter usually the most repeated of a grade are super soft .
what is a "dry fire"?
When you put a lot of pressure on a hold and your fingers slip off. So instead of being to weak to hold, or letting go, the lack of friction sends you off the wall.
Fliegen kann die Lili ;)
14:11 They definitely moved the wall more than 10 degrees between "60" and "70"
It kinda looks like 60 was actually 50 to me.
Saw her a few times in my usual boulder gym, sometimes with her boyfriend yannik flohe
Hey Emil, how are your tweeky fingers? Still with that problem or are you fine now?
Hey, thanks for asking! The finger is loads better, but still not perfect, hopefully in a few weeks though!
@@EmilAbrahamsson I'm glad to hear that, good luck. Btw have you ever tried sleepwalker? It looks like your style
Where did you film
This ?
Just climb on the ceiling
Which phone app was that, to measure the tilt degree?
measure, comes pre-installed on iphones
@@mikerinaldi3114 oh i see, thank you
Nice thumbnail 😂
The thumbnail deeply disturbs me, the angle is wrongggg. I demand a refund. Keep up the great work, awesome video Emil! p.s. you are handsome
Haha this is a very confusing comment, but I think I should say.. thank you?
does this gym not use set screws? i don't see a single one in the wall, and then emil spins a foothold on the first try lol
They do, but we set this just for us on a Kilterboard where screwholds would ruin the wall. When the kilter holds were put up they set screwed everything properly

Who made the thumbnail? They need to go back to their geometry maths class 😂
2:30 No Spax. No Problem ;)
🎉
Where’s the 90 degree one?
I also like to defend myself with having a bad beta. Works every time
the angle in the thumbnail is shown incorrectly
the fact you felt more difference from 40 to 60 than 0 to 40 is quite logical, if it went from a ladder to 6C most casual climbers will definitely feel it, but to you and Lili it's still warm up lol :p
Because physics
Tilt a slab boulder 10 degrees and it goes from V2 to literally impossible
It's V0 in my gym
Emil almost send the f word 😂 7:49
not gonna watch this but i bet it gets harder
The angle in the thumbnail is wrong. The one you drew is 20°, not 70°.
☝️🤓
Damn i really hoped nobody would notice haha..
Although, when I was at Uni my professor was very adamant about using visually incorrect angles to help encourage actual math and not just what we thought the angles looked like, so I'll use that as my excuse
@@EmilAbrahamsson Real mathematician here, the angle is also at the wrong place💀Ofc that's not the point, I think most people won't even notice haha
@@EmilAbrahamsson Wait, did you change the thumbnail?
Did no-one notice the hold rotating at 2:30??
If you meet girls like her I really should start climbing
Ik this is really out of topic but you kinda look like Christian Coulson😭
That thumbnail is kind of embarrassing, the alpha angle is clearly a tiny angle but the caption says alpha = 70 degrees. Might want to fix that.
hi
Oh-hi-there!

Current thumbnail appears to be misleading
