    For those of you complaining about it not connecting I have the solution:
    1. If you have already connected your bulbs to your wifi then uninstall the app and reinstall.
    2. Connect your phone to someone else's hotspot.
    3. Open the app and add a room then add a device and enter the password of the hotspot.
    4. Use the smart pairing feature to connect both or how ever many bulbs.
    5. Disconnect from the hotspot and connect your normal wifi. (This will disconnect the bulbs).
    6. Add another room with your normal wifi and put in the password.
    7. Use manual pairing and follow the steps to connect to each bulb's wifi and go back to the wiz app. (Repeat this for however many bulbs you have).
    8. Once all bulbs are connected delete the old room and your all good to go. 😁
    Tip: use the presets (labeled with numbers) to control all the bulbs in the same room without changing each bulb manually.

    If not already in there, change the region to Europe, I changed it to Spain. That's what worked for me.

    I finally got it to work by: connecting via WiFi NOT manually. So before you connect via WiFi it says to: turn the light off. So turn it off for like 5 seconds. Then it says turn it on then wait for like 3 secs then hit the( connect or finish) option and it’ll work all the time. I’ve done it in 3 different houses and apartments. I don’t really think WiFi connection matters since they obviously all have diff speeds.

    I had a few issue too. someone said connecting it using you phones WiFi first works; providing you have a second device to do it. play with the lights for a bit, then connect again this time with your home WiFi and that should do it, it worked for me after a few hours. Annoying I know, but technology..

      Make sure you use the 2.4ghz wifi and not the 5ghz one

      Ok so what I did i switch from my 5g wifi to my 2g wifi. I restarted the app and had my bulb off. Then it gave me the smart connect option. I did it and it found the bulb. After the switch to 2g it really was as simple as this video. Maybe I got lucky idk.

    Did anyone make it pair? I'm still struggling. Have a lot of messages going with support, but no use. Tried direct 2.4Ghz, tried hotspot, tried different phones and still have it not paired. Anyone has the magic steps to make it work? Any hint appreciated!!

    You can not use 5g network WiFi ... put bulb in before connecting to app turn on then use app follow steps in app should work fine

    Someone please help me, I’ve put hours into these light and I’m just so done with this. I’m trying to pair the wiz lights to my external hotspot device to control them through my phone. They appear to pair normally then they get stuck on the loading screen: “initializing connection” after 5 to 10 minutes, they fail with a message that says “No error message received” 🙃

    Bro when I switch off this bulb from plug next time i have to re-pair this bulb again, is this normal? When I switch ON this bulb from plug app doesn’t connect bulb with wifi it always shows that no light found or check ur wifi

      Ram, I have been experiencing the same problem. I contacted Phillips on the issue. They said they are supposed to reconnect, yet they couldn't figure out the problem, not do they seem very knowledgeable. Sometimes they seem to reconnect but usually they don't. I have two A19's and both seem to have different percentage of connections. The BR30 also seems so reconnect better. But again, all three bulbs go through this. I even had them 5 feet from the WIFI Router. Even doing to repairing is finicky, sometimes they par and sometimes they don't requiring to redo the process a few times. Weather underground also does not seem to work with these lights. Yes I can get itfff to work, but good luck with weather underground. Also I tried Google Home, and no it does not work. I get the code, but it doesn't accept it, and gives me a 403 error. Funny, because itfff and Alexa both excepts the code no problem. I contacted Wiz, and where wanting me to change mobile network information's and were not even giving me the correct steps to do that. I had to explain to the person a few times I'm on wifi and do not have cell service. Ultimate, we could not get it to wok and they blamed Google for their pages 403 errors.
      The box claims Easy control with app or voice. Again let me clarify that with app "or" voice. Their is no voice support built into their bulbs. You have to have a app, not only a app, but 2 apps. You have to have the Wiz app and a other such as Google (that don't work), Alexa, or Siri. You also have to register to get this 10 year warranty. US law states that the manufacture cannot force you to register to get the warranty. Not only this they claim that it last 22 years but has **. You check the ** section and its for the led lifetime and states about half of the led light source maintain 70% of their initial lumen output used at a average of 3 hours a day. So how is this lifetime or even 22 years.
      Without registering its only 5 years ar 3 hours a day. Again, this runes afoul with the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.
      I though Philips was a reputable company. WTF happened to them?

      @@thefly9390 so I just returned my bulb to Amazon and bought syska now that one is perfectly fine. No connection issues, the only one problem related to syska is that the brightness of colors is too low compared to Philips and the quality of lighting is also not great as Philips but that is acceptable for a price range of rs 585 for a 9w bulb. Moreover everything is fine with syska over Philips

      Also, ensure your phone is connected to the 2.4 Ghz Wifi. If you are connected to 5.0Ghz it wont work since the bulbs only work on 2.4.

    It does more than white if you have the A19 model. If you click on the color selector right by the settings icon, you can make it change colors using a full color pallet.

    I have a question? I connected it with no problems and working fine. But my wife wants to control it with her phone when I’m not home. So my question is that …..can she control it also if she downloads the app or only works with one phone?

    Purchased 5 of the A19 RGB bulbs and they suck really bad. Will not stay connected. Every time you give a command to alexa to turn lights on or off, it says light not available. Same with the WIZ app, not available most of the time. Save your money and buy something else, anything else.

    Don purchase this it sucks, It doesn't work at all. I have my bulb right next to router, my udp is open and im on 2.4ghz I doesn't work. and no one knows why, this company is janky, theres no phone support only email and they are reading of a script, they cant tell you anything you cant find on line. TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!

      Just because you can't figure it out, don't blame the tech or the company. My entire home has these bulbs and all have worked flawlessly since day one. Never have had any issues with them. They work fantastic!!

      i have a whole home system with the phillips hue and they work flawlessly with the bridge. i was drawn to buying the less expensive wiz bulbs phillips just released and purchased one for my fiance for christmas as a test subject lol.... but after seeing many negative comments i have to wonder if they are worth it. i've had my standard hue bulbs that cost around $20-$40 (white /color) each for nearly 4 years now and they all still work perfectly so i think we get what we pay for sometimes. you should be able to contact phillips on facebook, instagram or on their youtube page if the 800 support number wasn't helpful. not sure if that helps. sorry you had a bad experience.

    Yea pretty disappointed with this sofar.. able to find the bulbs in manual mode.. update process takes forever and then I'm left with an update fail.. was really excited for this product but I'm thinking I need to go with a different brand

      It works now.. in manual mode ya gotta do one at a time.. by that I mean wait till one fully updates its firmware before moving on to another one.. and they only connect in 2.4ghz

    It so interesting how philips went from the really expensive $46 dollar hue bulbs to $15 dollar lightbulb and now use the wiz app and not the philips hue app its like philips now realized that the philips hue lights are not working and needed to change things up.

      Wiz was just an acquisition. Hue is still being produced and sold. The price difference between the two does seem odd unless Hue is made in America vs Wiz in China...
