A lot of love for Arms Race and Demolition in the comments, maybe I was mistaken about the player numbers for those. Valve would know, they have the data. I still think those game modes could be improved, I always liked gungame servers, but the way they did it with giving everyone wallhacks on the leader was awful and I never play the 'official' game mode. I think they can improve them, and now is a good opportunity to do just that.
Greetings! This video took me some time because I'm building a new computer for CS2 (RTX 4090 and I9-13900K), I will try to get updates out ASAP as soon as important stuff happens.
WarOwl I have a protip for your computer build, don't drop the heavy 4090 into the PC onto the motherboard, by mistake.. three times... (Speaking from experience)
I like the Source 2 visuals, I hope the esports boner doesn't get in the way of the engine, really impressed with Valves talent of creating digital magic tricks like the Overpass water not being 3D whatsoever but looking so next gen. They truly have the best texture artists in the industry.
@@UmbrellaGentcouldn't agree more. Beautiful but still runs super well. On top of that they added Nvidia Reflex to lower latency when GPU bound, so the game's responsiveness won't take a big hit

which region do u play in. im in asia pacific and i have never seen more than 1 player (excluding me) in demo. and i have been playing it a lot recently. arms race is is populated but demo feels dead
I don’t care about demolition that much, but arms race is a really fun side attraction or warmup. Many times when my friends and I have been waiting for the rest of the group to join we’ve played arms race to pass the time
I love Demolition but I hate how they reduced the number of rounds needed to win, it's so short now and there's no team switch. I'd also like to see the Demolition maps gets a shakeup, some of them are so bland and there are some great workshop maps that could replace them- hopefully Valve is still willing to add community maps for CS2.
I just hope they cycle maps for casual modes way more often now. We literally played the same 10 maps on arms race, demolition and so on for 10 fucking years while the community pumps out one high quality map after the other, and they would be perfect for more casual modes to keep it fresh.
5:12 I was playing around with this and I'm pretty sure this change actually makes it way worse to sit behind the door because of how angles work. If someone peeks the edge of the door even slightly you're going to be visible unless you're staring into the corner, at which point you're completely exposed if someone decides to clear it Also it'd be nice if they added a clipbrush command to the console in CS2, I tried checking for one but couldn't find it. It was useful in CSGO for figuring out where you can/can't play while exploring a map but I don't think there is any equivalent command in CS2 right now and it'd help a lot with figuring out all the weird dumb spots you can/can't stand on Overpass
I did notice some frame drops when I was in water and tossed a henade down anybody who was close would drop frames same thing for smoke if you have two or more smokes stacked and dropped a nade anyone who was close to the smoke would suffer frame drops from 350 down to 30-27 frames
Come on now, back when I played CSGO actively I had couple matches of demoliton as a warm-up every time before going in competitive. So the different game modes will definitely have some players.
Austincs did a video explaining what I'm about to say but it's worth mentioning that a lot of useful B names can be thrown over the hedge by A bathrooms now, making it really strong from delaying B pushes and keeping an extra man towards A. If the clipping stays this way, it could drastically change the way this map is played in comp.
I honestly loved playing demolition, it definitely was one of the main game types that I played for a long time. Was nice to jump into because casual was always kinda weird and I wasn't always feeling ranked.
I can't check cause I checked the "always use this option" box. and I can't undo it in the games properties for some reason the option does not show up... any clue on how to fix this?
Honestly I think CS2 is a great opportunity for Valve to revamp the other gamemodes. How about adding modes that people actually wanted to play a lot like zombies, surf, kz, knife arena, ... there are countless options and honestly they can do the same thing with retakes
I think that they will not bring back demolition, but likely flying scoutsman and gungame. Those are always played on demolition maps, or maybe they will add Safehouse to wingman like they did Lake.
What's missing is playing hardcore deathmatch while queuing for a match. There's a lot of matches that I felt were not a good matching and I got to waste 30 minutes instead of queuing for extra 5 minutes while warming up to get matched into a good game.
As somebody who plays CS:GO on Linux, I can't wait for the new Source 2 version of the game to finally release. Most games on Linux either port DX to Vulkan at runtime through Proton or use OpenGL. Not many are native Vulkan ports, and while CS:GO's current Vulkan port sucks, I'm hoping CS2's is going to be much more optimized considering the complete lack of effort for maintaining the current implementation. Edit: For anybody wondering, CS:GO on a good Linux set up is MILES better than any Windows set up assuming your hardware isn't equivalent to a NASA super computer.
7:54 I like that it is bangable. As a 1.6 player I'd love if everything was bangable. What I've noticed is that you can't bang through underpass/tunnel around the door area anymore (afaik) because it's a brick wall now. I don't like that. Banging that area was really important and added a lot of skill to the game.
Would love access to this. The big picture Valve is missing is a lot of people with CS2 access are playing CSGO because their friends don’t have access. They need to be smarter about this.
I enjoy seeing the love for Arms Race and Demolition, but no ones talking about Flying Scoutsman? Sure it's just a whacky side mode, but with source movement like air-strafing and bhopping, its such a fun gamemode, and I love to play it to warm down, or hang out with friends!
I really hope they can work on optimisation a little more, as it’s currently hard to play for me. I play on my laptop most of the time as move a lot so don’t have my pc, and while in GO I get about 120fps I only get about 40fps in 2, which isn’t enough to enjoy playing the game

I have more hours in demo than I do in the rest of the game lol. Personally I think it's a good way to get into the game as it simplifies the comp game mode and forces you to use different guns (for better or worse)
yeah naw... you are so much better off learning to use the guns in bot-maps or deathmatch and developing your gamesense in actual 5v5 comp matches. everything else will just instill bad habits into you. The key factor distinguishing decent from good players is a "feel" for the game as the round unfolds. that can only be learned through experience so the more actual comp games you play the better. the rest is a waste of time.
nothing to worry about performance just like valorant if you play in low settings it will focus mainly on cpu but if you increase your graphic settings it will use more gpu and less cpu so for anyone playing in low quality with a good cpu wont feel much difference if your setup is half and half in term of cpu and gpu power i would test out different quality which works best medium might be better then low in some cases
