I was climbing down to a fishin spot around 9am one morning . A fisherman was climbing up . Said he had caught a bunch of bass , but it had slowed way down . Said that I knew I was late , but at least I was outside . He smiled and said , absolutely .
Caught a crappie for the first time ever in a creek that I've fished often... never knew there were crappie in there. Normally it's young largemouth and three or four different types of sunfish. Was so happy I almost wooooooed
@@VespoLiveGaming that's some good eating!! We have longear, bluegill, pumpkinseed, Redear and warmouth!! We have green sunfish too but not many people eat them
Nice truck! My dad had that exact same truck when I was a kid. We crossed this entire country many times sitting in the bed of that truck all the way across - on both I-10 and I-40. Mom and dad up front, baby on the floorboard, and my brother and I riding in the bed with luggage, pillows, sleeping bags, a cooler, and a Sony cassette player.
Fishing is, no doubt, a sport second to none! Truer words have never been spoken. You're a legend, Richard! If ever you make it down here to Central Florida I've got a seat ready for you on my boat to fish the St. Johns. Please give my warmest regards to Mama Sue and ol' Elmo when you see him. Ted Marshall Sanford, FL
Thanks Richard, I really love the way that you focus on the how and the why, rather than the "LOOK WHAT I CAUGHT" without saying anything about the techniques, tackle, etc that so many fishing personalities seem to be stuck on. You are a true teacher!!
Love to see the notifications when this pops up .!! Woo wooo wooooooo any crappie bite is a good bite to me . God bless you and your family 🙏🏼 Mr. Richard
Every time I see you have a new video posted I get excited. Your no nonsense approach to finding fish is amazing. You have a nack of making it look so easy. I fish a lot and I'm convinced you could catch fish out of a dry creek bed .
In 90s, I lived in Alabama, and often went to this same place Richard goes (Guntersville dam) on weekends. The fish are very aggressive and so easy to catch. One day, I counted my catches and it was more than 70 before the noon.
I often go to the Guntersville dam with my dad to fish. I hope one day I will run into you while you fishing there. I love your videos, because they are very educational and entertaining. Thanks for sharing!
I sat on the bank all weekend with my teenage son and my wife. They think we're really just fishing, but these memories and time spent in the great outdoors is absolutely priceless! Oh yeah, we nabbed several bass as well.... Life is special, if you allow the little things to creep in and mean something more than it truly seems to be....
Keep them coming Richard I’ve caught so many big crappie here in Iowa lately and the weather has been throwing fits but it’s calming and a blessing every time even when I get skunked!
RICHARD, YOU HAVE WITHOUT DOUBT,THE BEST FISHING CHANNEL ON RUclips! TOO MANY ARE PUSHING EQUIPMENT, THEIR "PERSONAL BEST" TROPHY CHASERS. NOT THAT THAT IS BAD.ALL IM SAYING,IS,THAT YOUR VIDEOS ARE ALWAYS FIRST AND FOREMOST ENTERTAINING! THEN THERES ALWAYS INFORMATION ABOUT CONDITIONS AND YOUR YEARS AND YEARS IF EXPERIENCE BRING ABOUT A GREAT MIXTURE FOR THIS FORMAT! THANKS SO MUCH FOR SHARING WITH THE WORLD WHAT HAS TAKEN YOU DECADES TO LEARN!!
thanks for the tip. I will try them tomorrow at Guntersville or maybe wheeler dam. wish me luck Rich! so far you have helped me double my catch. I was terrible, now I'm just bad... lol but getting better thanks to you.
Hi Gene, got a 15 inch 3lbs crappie here in Deland Fl. My biggest crappie of my life. To bad I was not in the crappie masters opener just down the river from me. Thanks for all the good information that helped me find and land the crappie.
Richard efficient machine you plethora of information, I appreciate what you do the information you pass on and I just so much enjoy your Channel love to meet up with you one day and go fishing if possible, the only problem is I'm still here in Florida hahaha
Thanks RG ,informational, enjoyable, and fun. I am older than you but it is amazing that we fish so much alike maybe that's why I enjoy your videos so much.
Some impressive wound healing antibodies you have there sir. 3 inch gash from fiskars are no match. Healed up by end of day lol. Thanks for the content Mr. Gene 👍
Loved the video and I love fishing around the dam myself, it's been awhile since I have had time but I am itching for some fishing. God bless you and your family stay safe.
Richard Gene is always very informative on how what and why, hands down the best fishing channel on youtube! Plus he's just good folks. Love your videos Richard. I saw Elmo up here fishing the udder day and he was a mess, had his line all tangled slipped off the bank and spilled all his tackle lol.
My favorite fishing show! Woo! I’m talking about WOOO! Big 10 Chevy!

Me encantan tus videos de pesca, eres un excelente pescador, felicidades, siempre pescas muchos peces hermosos. 👍🎣 Tu equipo de pesca es muy bueno. Abrazo!!!
Richard thank You Sir and Your Team for the High Quality Videos that Ya'll put together for Us to see and enjoy. I know that You believe that the Fish are the Stars of the Show, but I watch Your Videos for the quick whit and snappy conversation that You have with Us as You film and fish. It'd be great to see You on the "Major League Fishing Tournaments". You'd give them a good run! Thank You for put God's Word in Your Video Discription. God Bless You, Your Family and Your Viewers
At this moment I'm catfishing at lake Marion Santee South Carolina... Not catching a thing but enjoying your video.. I'm going to be in your neck of the woods in December in Guntersville Alabama.... I'm going to try to catch a few on the causeway under the bridge.. good luck to all
Yes Richard, when you find the right spot below the dam! You can catch about anything! Be careful with those scissors. You know what happened when me and you were fishing!! LIVE FOR THE THUMP MY FRIEND!!
I do a lot of bank fishing, so I really enjoyed your video today! I was interested in how you got a loose from being hung up in the rocks? That happens a lot! I will be looking for those eddies that you were talking about. That was a big buffalo that you caught! Woooo, I’m talking about wooooo!!!
Keep the line tight and walk in the direction of the line. Reel in any slack to keep it tight. When you cross over the point where it’s stuck it should come free.
Amazed no white bass. The boat ramp and the ferry crossing usually pretty good. Too bad you couln"t get to the sandbar below the boat ramp. Monkey milk bobby garland or a small jigging spoon works great for me down there. WOOOO!
Wish I could talk u into coming to lake juliette in middle Ga to show some tips and tricks to me and my 12 yr old son. That would be a fishing trip of a lifetime.
I been looking for that rod since this video, can't find it guess I threw it away. Came as a combo with a "snapshot" spinning reel that had a little lever by the bail you used to flip the bail and cast it.
When I was a young fella I rember an older gentleman's comment about small fish. He said well they are bigger than a butterbean aren't they? We eat butterbeans all the time! Have a blessed day!
As usual, great video Mr. Gene! I have watched every video you have made. I too fish the TN valley river system. Question??? I have a momma Becky instead of Momma Sue....We have noticed that the bigger Crappie have been hiding lately and we have just been catching little 8-9 inchers. They are worthy of a woooo of course but not a big wooooo! what happens to bigger Crappie during the fall? Do you have the same issue?
Hey, Richard love your content. Keep up the great work. Do you know what happened to John, from Regular Dude fishing? He hasn't made a video in over a year. Just curious if you knew. Thanks.

What 4 sunfish? Bluegill , Redear, pumpkin seed and longear?
If u want crappie vertical jig there in the same creek
Hit the pools with minnows or jigs under bobbers. That worked for crappie for me. They like slow/no flow and a slower presentation.
@@jeremylesso857 in my area it's bluegill, redbreast, green, and pumpkinseed.
