Hi Claudia, just put in an order to Swan Island yesterday! I am trying several new forms this year. I ordered an orchid type called Star Child, a yellow ball type called Nettie, and a pom type called Crossfield Ebony to name a few. I also ordered some of your favorites like Maarn and Jitterbug. I'm also trying to save my dahlias from last year. I'll have to divide them in the spring when I can see the eyes better! I so enjoyed the dahlias that you sent me last year! I ordered from Swan Island because I liked the way they came with a tag and big picture with all the info on it! I also like the way they are not sold out in a couple of hours like some other sites I have tried to order from! Best of luck with your dahlias this year! Thanks for the video! I hope you go to Swan Island again to make another video. Wish I lived closer so I could go too!
Aww yay Vickie!!! I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to hear your enjoyed them much last year. I ordered Star Child too, it’s beautiful in person! Crossfield Ebony is one of the cutest Pom! You’ll love it’s tight symmetrical form, and the color is perfect in the Fall, especially with Maarn! 😍 I’ve started dividing some varieties, I’ll do a video again on that this year. I’m excited to share my order for this year. You’ll have to keep me posted on the news you grow this year and how you like them.
I love all dahlias, my passion. I have been falling more in love with the singles, they are so bright and elegant. I don't have any cactus varieties yet. I need to look at the semi-cactus!

just the video i've been looking for! I'm starting dahlias from seed now, it's summer where I live. i hope to have some blooms before winter. and I'm thrilled to see what kind of flowers I get!!
I know that growing from seed you never know what you'll get... but I'd love to have at least one ball, one pompom and one dinner plate. I'm starting a lot!! so maybe I'll have luck!

@@InTheGardenWithClaudia I live in Mirador de la Tahona, in Uruguay. We have subtropical coastal wheather, very humid year round, very hot in the summer (up to 35 Celsius), we get frosts in the winter, but no snow…
Hi! After watching this I found it necessary to place another dahlia order with Swan Island. I debated ordering Dad’s Favorite for months. This video cinched it for me. Since it was still available, I ordered a couple of them, plus several others of course. I’m going to need to dig a dedicated bed I think. I’ve got a bunch coming! Would love to see Swan Island, but I’m over on the East Coast in GA. Your tours have been great to see!
Lol, it’s addicting!!! I tell myself, I’m just going to get a few… and then you’re like oh let me just take a look at what else they have and then before you know it you’re just in deep lol. Maybe one day you’ll make your way here, it’s a magical place. I feel lucky that I get to share so many beautiful places with you guys, I can’t wait for this season to start.
@@InTheGardenWithClaudia I forgot to mention that I also got Wannabe because of you too. Cornel and Maarn-maybe next year. Trying to figure out where to plant all of them! I’m afraid to go back and count them up…lol!
Thank you for this good information. I have been purchasing Deliah’s from Longfield Gardens. This year I would like to grow some in pots for my front patio where there is much sun for 5 or 6 hours a day. Have you tried using them in planters? They are such bold flowers….just perfect to welcome visitors. Happy gardening.
