Just recently bought myself a pair of Vomero 5s in the olive colorway and I freaking love them. So comfy, and I love the look. Have gotten lots of compliments on them too.
it's funny because all these mesh and fake plasticy leather runners were shoes that you could get on sale for like $70 around the time of their original release and everyone considered cheap ugly shoes and now everyone wants a pair. Especially Asics, someone see's you wearing Asics 10yrs ago and they'd think you bought them from Walmart or Payless, lol.
From my experience the mesh runner trend really blew up in early 2020 over in Asia with the New Balance 530 (that shoe took South Korea by storm during covid - it was on many, many people’s feet), and the ASICS GEL 1090. Took a couple years to reach our shores but I think the social media momentum was starting to influence the trends here with the 99x and finally went crazy with the Vomero 5 and 2002r. Rest was history
$160 for this shoe is insane. This is a $100 shoe. Plus this Vomero 5 didn't set a trend. This is Nike trend jacking at it's finest. New Balance set the trend with the 1906R.
i just bought these now in all white. And they look awesome, comfort is impressive too. I think im going to be buying these repeatedly from now. They have a NB vibe to them.
Probably a day or 2 after the release, I was at a Shoe Palace on melrose in LA- and saw the Vomero 5 Dornbechers. I didn’t even think about them but after seeing the concept and patches in person I decided to cop. I told the cashier I’m surprised people didn’t go get these and he said “nah people only cared about the Jordan 1s.” Now these vomeros are going for a pretty Penny!
The Vomero 5 was the team issued trainer for much us on the UNC TnF & XC teams (2010-2012) My original pair lasted so long. I knew if they came back around I’d grab.
Vomero 5 might be my favorite shoe. All day comfort with no real fatigue and decent energy return thanks to the Zoom, and sure wearable Just wish it was cheaper
These shoes filled a gap in my collection that the Air Max 1 & Air Max 90 could not. I also bought them in the olive and tan colorway and they look great with Nike's current run of fall colors for their apparel.
I just bought this colorway 4 days ago for my gym shoe. I have wide feet and these are SO DAMN COMFY! Already bought the Oatmeal colorway and looking at a couple more color ways 😂
I was lucky enough to get SNKRS dubs for the supersonic and made in Japan pairs and they are 2 of my favorite and most worn shoes in my collection. The quality of both colorways is great, especially the made in Japan pair
My only gripe is that the outsole has worn out fairly quickly, I have had them for around 7 months but to be fair I have them as my daily dumb reaches and gym shoes. The price is also extortionate here in the UK (£145) so I'll only get a 2nd pair if it's discounted, as I got my first pair for around £70. Aside from all that I'm a huge fan of the shoe, it's so comfy and matches my style, especially compared to modern runners which look a bit too athletic and sporty for casual wear to me.
It is comfy but for some reason it hurts my bridge after a long day of wearing it..I had to keep the laces a bit lose to prevent that. The greatest con is definitely the price.
Nike shoes are mass produced. You're just paying premium for certain colors some people told you to care about. True for Vomero, true for all the shoes behind him.
But i still bought it eventhough it cost $160. First reason, i’m a skinny guy so i don’t want a sneaker that too bulky, but i need a comfortable sneakers. Second, i like the look way better than asics or new balance that for me their design are too bulky and too complicated. Third, i live in a tropical country that so hot all day and this is the most breathable dad shoes in the market. So this Vomero 5 is a all rounded sneakers that suitable for me. It’s comfortable, breathable, not too bulky, timeless design, and it’s so lightweight. Nike also released vomero 5 in many monochrome colorway which i like because it’s simple and minimalist. Even runrepeat scored this vomero 5 at 96 points, highest nike sneakers points that i see in runrepeat
I have that Designed by Japan model you highlighted in your video. It's really really nice. My first Vomero 5. I was waiting on a colorway to grab me and that one did it.
Panda dunks are a single colorway that is seen too much, I don't think it hurt other dunks. It'd be one thing if just one Vomero 5 was hot, but I think having multile available colorways available makes it different than Pandas.
In Thailand, They sold with 6000 Bahts (164 USDollars). They really sold this really high price in Third World Country. HAHAHA But in term of comfortable. Thai peoples like this shoe so much. Best Comfortable Nike shoe!!!
vomero 17 is next level with a dual cushioning setup and competes well against other modern running shoes. vomero 5 is outdated cushioning tech at a ridiculous price point with terrible quality synthetic materials.
Nike don't offer half size after UK12 in most countries, it jump to UK13 straight, my tts is UK12.5, disappointed bought vomero in size UK13, bad experience
Yea these are not true to size, I'm also a 9.5 in every nike and Jordan and these had to size down. Even compared the 9.5 to other shoes side by side and were def 10s
@ *LVGUCI* You are so well-informed about luxury accessories and bags. You've obviously done your due diligence and the comparison to the US is very informative...because of course, I live in New York. thank you very much.

Is it true to size or snug?
@@johnezekieljeremiahdingal1944 True to size for me. 👍🏻

SO true, but I’m into it. 😂
ASICS are much better materials for less.
Exactly! These and the others like them are basically pleb shoes
Fax you'd get made fun of for wearing asics and new balance back when i was in school
@@hizzle8393 yep. Proper bullied

Agreed. $75 at best, $125 at worst
true 120 bucks at MAX.
I thought the same thing the first time i tried some on.... "160" ??? Lol
Nope yeezy 700 set the trend wave runners sparked the dad shoe trend back
@@ClearSmoke100 None of those shoes look like wave runners. This is more about the mesh runner trend.

Hes Kicks, This is fantastic! I subscribed because I love it!
I agree with you. The hate that the Panda dunks get is unwarranted. I think that they are great and easy to pair a fit with it. They are so versatile.
These shoes filled a gap in my collection that the Air Max 1 & Air Max 90 could not. I also bought them in the olive and tan colorway and they look great with Nike's current run of fall colors for their apparel.
I got 3 color ways now 😂 just tried them on once and that was it.. Am 45 and the comfort on these shoes are great as comfortable as my NB 9060
Should i get 9060 or vomero 5? Literally my two choices haha.
One of my favorite shoes of all time. Super comfy and super stylish.
The stylish part of your comment is a lie.
Love Vomeros. Have about 5 pairs so far

Really hope they retro the Lunarglides! So much nostalgia for me wearing them in middle school PE class
One of my favorite shoes of all time. Can wear all day without even thinking about it.
Agree. Really Comfortable!
I get more comments on my vomero 5’s than any other shoe. Coworkers from 20-50 say, “oh, I like those.”
Man! Please please please make a video of your pants collection! They are really dope and suits all your pairings to those shoes.
Nike shoes are mass produced. You're just paying premium for certain colors some people told you to care about. True for Vomero, true for all the shoes behind him.
Very comfortable shoe for wearing all day. This color way is amazing too.
Love the triple black colorway

I would agree with the price, I got a pair only cause I was lucky to find a pair at the outlets
I’d rather wear Asics 1130’s for way less money. Even more comfortable too.
How do you tie the laces the way you do in these? Just got my first pair at the outlets for $85. Definite Father's Day win with the Dad kicks.
I have that Designed by Japan model you highlighted in your video. It's really really nice. My first Vomero 5. I was waiting on a colorway to grab me and that one did it.
Want those so bad!
I have been eyeing the Vomero 5's in the same colorway, and the P6000 premiums , went with the P6000's, but I will definitely still get the vomeros.
That price point is the reason why I haven't bought them yet either. I've dropped the same on other pairs that had some better tech.
just picked up my first pair of vormero's the sashiko colorway.
It looks like Nike version of NB 1906r or 2002r. NB is much worth it for me.
Panda dunks are a single colorway that is seen too much, I don't think it hurt other dunks. It'd be one thing if just one Vomero 5 was hot, but I think having multile available colorways available makes it different than Pandas.
How good are these for actual running????
And weight lifting?
Don’t recommend for either activity. Especially for the same price you can get something better for running and the gym
You have the air max command with leather, full retail price 140€, Nike factory 49€!
What type of green pants did u pair with these bro?
Just got into the NB 9060 they do comfy in looking for all the comfy shoes
durability is the key 160 is fine, i bought some 120-150 shoe for daily wear just 1month outsole starting slip on wet floors.
Overproducing is not a con IMO because it means chance for sale prices which is ALWAYS GOOD.
Super comfy but mine had the grip peel away from the foam after my first heavy work out … had to glue it back … what the heck

I’m hoping and waiting for the supersonic to restock in the US soon 🙏
How does the comfort compare to the vomero 17?
Can't touch zoom x in Vomero 17. Maybe someone can like 5s but as for comfort, can't be compared.

Wanted them but the 160$ is way 2 much & I got the ASIC Gel-NYC instead
How are they for all day wear?
@@user-yx4on8hx4wbeen using 2160 since May, and I would say its comfortable is above NB 2002R
Just got the white/black/grey/red color way for $60 cant wait
I love these too much. I literally had to buy one in a different colorway after a month.
Do they squeak when you walk?
Hello, are they the same sizing like AF1s?
Theyre POPPING in the UK atm
A like the vomeros but imo I think NB and ASICS are much more comfortable. Also, I think the Nike P-6000 is more comfortable for much cheaper💯
I picked up a pair last week 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Mind u ppl selling these in 13 than any other size for higher price especially the crimson
Very expensive here in México almost usd 200 no way
Can you recommend this on wide feet?
Yes I have wide feet I went true to size on these they are fine
Just bought a pair for $62 on the Nike website.
Great work Shoe IMO
Why does the Vomero have a hype and the Lunar Roam doesn't?
Yeezy 700 started the trend of dad shoes making a comeback
These or Nike p6000?
vomero 5's are the most comfy shoe casually next to yeezy 350's
Really Comfortable!!!
Lunarglides! ❤
What's the colorway?
I bought $70 in the nike store in santa clarita in 2020 😂😂😂 best shoes ever though!
Which New Balance model has a similar cushion setup to the vomero 5? I’ve got my eye on some ASICS NYC that it the same vibe and comfort as well
NB 2002r and 1906r
Nike don't offer half size after UK12 in most countries, it jump to UK13 straight, my tts is UK12.5, disappointed bought vomero in size UK13, bad experience
Just go half size up, your toes will be happy and free :)
Funny I’ve been thinking about getting this shoe. Then boom this video.
What sku is this ?
I have a wide foot and after 3 months of wearing, the side mesh of the shoe is ruined on the pinky area. It got holes on both shoe already 😢😢😢
New P6000 is more comfy and cheap😊😊
Agreed but even that shoe has went up in retail. That was a $70-80 shoe.
Does it have zoom x foam?
@@edmeyer4800 no it doesn't

Im just seeing these in the malls lolz how am i so behind
Nice looking sneakers
Dad shoe era . Finally
I can't. I just can't.
Thanks for all your research
Lol he said “its grippy”
Like the shoe but they are def not worth 160, glad they are beginning to put these shoes on sale like most overpriced Nike
Should’ve been 130 max
reminds me of a new balance
Cant feel the look of it for lifestyle. 990v6 way better
The japanese ones look so much better. I cant get into these ones
Op shoe imo
Waw vomero 😊
These are bricks compared to the 17.
Sup
Don't care for the looks of the Vomero 5 besides the Japan pair. 🤷♂️
People are sheep. The vomero 5 proves that
I love seeing people complain about the price, like 1) everything isn’t more expensive and 2) just don’t buy it
These shoes are slippery 😢 Am I the only one experiencing this?
This shoes is not beautiful.
Looks yucky
Okay no cons lol
Nike copied new balance with this model
it's a poor man's 990
Much better than 990s
This shoe is really ugly. What are those diagonal lines in the middle.
