Thanks for the video. It’s the first time that I’ve ever changed a clutch and without this video I don’t think I would have attempted it. I’m pleased to say all went well and the new clutch is in, and all done on the drive. Thanks again for this very informative video.

Hi Thanks for the video.. During the replacement of my Alto 2010 clutch, I was also struggling with the startermotor bolt from the engine mount side. I found a other way beside the suggested removal of the engine mounting.. Remove the alternator and a wiringloom clamp.. Now you can reach by use of a 30cm long 3/8 extentionbar and a ratchet wrench this difficult bolt. Then after unscrewing the bolt, just slide the bolt, socket, extentionbar aside and leave it there. Then do the clutch job and you can slide in the bolt for fastning again.. easy!! Thanks again

The starter motor bolt is a pain, we did a Splash recently, that's were alot of time was wasted, we took the bracket/mount off.

The shafts go into each side of the box at the rear. Both need to come out.....did a Splash a few weeks ago, same set up.

Mate, I just watched this again and am really pleased you put this up. Thanks for simplifying the process and all the added tips.
The Oil drain plug is a 10mm square. I just made one out of steel. but yes, you can use a 3/8 inch socket wrench.
One thing I really wanted to see was the bolts on the flywheel and the pilot bearing itself. You covered it up with the clutch before showing it. So I have three questions if you don''t mind.
1 - What kind of bolts are used to hold the flywheel on. Do they require a normal hex socket, or a are they some kind of Torx variation? It's just the head I'm concerned about. I'll need to have the right tools on hand when doing the rear crank seal.
2 - Is the pilot bearing mounted in the flywheel or is in mounted into the drive shaft on this car?
3 - I noticed you didn't support the engine when you took the gearbox out, or maybe you did? Should I use a chain or cable to support the engine when I take the gearbox out? Was it necessary on this car? Thanks
I have this exact model of vehicle, so I really appreciate you showing this. I thought the process was allot more difficult.
As for the mount, I would definitely take it off because of the tight squeeze and the starter motor bolts.

To be honest I didn't replace the Flywheel, I cant remember what the bolts are. SORRY
I used a gearbox lift on the engine to support the engine while taking the gearbox out

@@TEAMR4ULTV Thanks for your reply. No worries about the flywheel bolts. I think they are standard hex. Do need to separate the tie rod ends from the hub or are you just separating the suspension arm ball joint? Thanks again.

Hey there. I replaced a new box and clutch based on this video. Subscribed and liked. Thank u.
Only thing I can't select 1st or 2nd. The linkage seems to be slightly different. The bracket has x3 bolts on original box..New one x2 bolts. The linkage area slight different also. Is there a way to adjust the linkage cables? It won't move left but moves right. So I got 3rd 4th 5th and rev. It won't move over to left. Like if no adjustment can I replace the linkage cables and gear stick mechanism? This seems better than taking box off again.guy sent me same ywr and car but seems slight amendment to box

Instead of removing the shock absorber bolts to get the driveshafts out. I just gunned the wishbone to subframe front bolt out.
There’s enough room to pop the shafts out. Doesn’t work on all cars but did on the Suzuki 😉👍

It's a very nice and helpful video! I am busy replacing the clutch assembly on the ground, and this is going great. I have only a slight hiccup because the bearing inside the flywheel is damaged and needs to be replaced. This is not that hard, but I wanted to ask what torque settings you would use to tighten the flywheel bolts in combination with loctite? Greetings from the Netherlands!

This one is different from the one you have on the Alto. the ending is just a roundish, black piece of plastic with no U shape clip. I have a photo of it but no ways to attach it here.
