Mackinder's theory may well have been the underlying strategy which created both world wars, but traditional naval power, which is at the core of his theory, is obsolete, as the Houthis have proven. But the world is now different, especially now that China has become, by far- the world's largest and most powerful economy. Moreover, if the Empire considered the Trans-Siberian a threat, and it was, it has been outdone, by orders of magnitude by the BRICs backed Belt and Road, which is far beyond anything Mackinder or his modern day American successors ever imagined.

One observation. China FM Wang-Yi had visited Myanma 08/14 and presented China commitment to stand by Min Aung Hlaing proposal to reach political settlement and racial reproachment amongst Myanma minorities to end civil asap. Wang-Yi next stop is to attend meeting held in Bangkok, and one top od his agenda is to work with Thailand government to prevent illegal Western weaponry smuggled into Myanma and ended up with Myanma militia. In this regards, Myanma civil war opens up a door to end quicker if not sooner.

The Russian civilisation is built to last. Just like all civilisations, Russia has undergone big changes. One just has to look at the fall of the Soviet Union to understand the challenges. Three events in the 20th century could have been the end of Russia as we know it.
The first is the social unrest 1917 followed by the Bolshevik Party's coup d'etat. It's important to understand that the Czar Empire had the fastest growing economy in Europe at the time. It wasn't poverty that triggered what has come to be known as the "October Revolution". Remember that the first world war was ongoing and the German intelligence had bet on Lenin to topple the Czar and take Russia out of the war. The German plan succeeded. Lenin became the first leader of the Soviet Union and all refereces to the Russian Empire came to be seen as chauvinism. The Soviet Republic of Russia was in the mind of the revolutionaries just a republic among republics. Resources were taken from Russia and invested in projekts faraway in the perephery of the Soviet Union. Russia lost everything that the Czars had built. Lenin's and Trotsky's hate for the Russian Empire was taken out on the Russians. It was not until Lenin was dead, Trotsky killed and Hitler threatened Moscow that Stalin was forced to realise that Russian nationalism was, like it or not, the only thing that could save the Soviet Union. Without Russia and the Russians there was no union of soviets at all. In a grand gesture of pragmatism he pleaded to the Russian people to defend the Motherland. This was a far cry from the ideological view of Lenin where all forms of nationalism was an evil. Stalin was realistic enough to understand that no one would take a bullet for the Party. But the Russians stood up to defend their Motherland. The core of the Empire was still strong, which saved Soviet a second time.
The third time was the collapse of the Soviet Union, described in West as something "inevitable". But it can also be seen as a political move not called for by the people. No social unrest, riots or flames lead to the collapse, just the decision of one man, Gorbatchev, who became a celebrity in the western world, but a traitor to his people in Russia. He lost control over the situation he had created and other people stepped forward to get their pound of flesh. Nationalism was suddenly the agenda and everyone carved out a piece of the cadaver. Jeltsin fought back an attempt from the military to save Soviet, but it was too late for that. The looting of Russia had begun. This time is described by western leaders as a "time for freedom in Russia". It would have been the end if not history put forward a saviour in the nick of time. The western world had once again to see its ellusive first prize disappear in front of them. Putin stepped forward in Jeltsin's place and saved Russia from destruction a third time.
West is now involved in another attempt to form the clay of history into a form that suit them. A puppet regime is set up in Ukraine and large sums of the European taxpayers' money is given away to fight Russia with every dropp of blood they have. NATO has still not come up with a strategy that stops Russian advancement. Meanwhile Putin is under heavy criticism in Russia for being to soft towards the Ukrainians. After the Ukrainian cross border attack a new and tougher phase from the Russians can be expected. Putin's soft approach is doomed and the Russians will most likely come out swinging.

Pretty much in line with what I've gathered myself. People often think the Bolsheviks were mostly Russians and represent the Russian mentality.
Also when you think of the chiefs of the various secret police and intelligence agencies you'll be hard-pressed to find a native Russian there.
Anthony Sutton is a real eye opener on the subject and tackles the ethnic question with academic grace.
Hate to sound nitpicky but, man, paragraphs exist for a reason. Not only is it a long post that's hard to follow but gives a bit of a manic and unstable impression even though the reasoning is sound. One issue, one paragraph.

One observation. Ousted ex-PM of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina had revealed two facts after exiled to India; including part A ”I would have still stayed as PM if had agreed American to stage their troop on St Maria island”, and part B “I humbly urge all Bangladeshi to hold on to soverity by disapprove American to use St Maria island”. This is going to re-shuffle and mend fence between China and India relationship assisted thru Russia, and unit single front to withstand US troop into Indian ocean.

Magnificent and comprehensive coverage. Kursk was an act to provoke Russia into a major disproportionate response similar to Iran.
