I had no idea I would spend today watching different creators on RUclips going wild with the new firmware for my favorite synth. It's a day well spent.
Your experience with modular has really transferred well to other instruments. It's like you view everything as modular now, and you've reached an enlightened state of being with no limits.
Ableton also really lends itself to this since you can basically put an endless chain of midi modulation tools and an endless chain of effects to turn on and off in the same freaking channel. And Red takes advantage of that beautifully. I get excited everytime he whips out the Push.
Bloody hell that last track was badass, Microfreak is cool and all, but Jeremy is the master, could give him a marimba to sample and he'd still melt your face off.
That dude at the end is literary me when listening to this banger. I've been here for a while and I got to say it's good to see you're moving in the right direction. You and your channel are getting better and better. Cheers!
With the micro freak alone you’re limited to the LFO/cycling envelope/envelope but I wonder how close you could get to something like this right in the machine. Homework for tonight. Some great sounds on this track love it.
I get the idea of wavetables but struggled to make them sound good. 0:41 and 1:15 is what I like. I'm guessing if I play around with the cycling envelope modulating one or more of the 4 red knobs I should be able to get something like it.
Wow, nice one dude!! Was not expecting the total f**n BANGER at the end!! Champion Status over here on the Microfreak (well, Ableton too!!) Nonstop modulation madness insanity that did NOT end up sounding like noise, with those LFOs providing the sick staccato off-time-y rhythms! Which you've demonstrated beautifully for us in this ace new video, i daresay one of your finest. Subscribed! Now excuse me I've got to go fire up the Microfreak!! 4 firmware updates deep; this thing just keeps getting better and better!
Arturia just keep getting better and better. As a company they're so customer focused they make the others look terrible..... That said, they really need to spend another $5 and double the size of that tiny OLED screen !
I use the same exact method to modulate my external analog synths that don't have much modulation options available, like my sub phatty, bass station 2, alpha juno, etc... Great thing too is you can save everything in your project, especially if your external synth has a vst editor!
always excellent presentations RMR, question, hope it's not too far off topic (concerning drum synth LXR-02) Do you think the MicroFreak and LXR-02 would sound good/proper audio with both plugged separately into Digitakt's mono inputs? So i guess what I'm really asking you, would the LXR-02 sound good just as one mono send into Digitakt? No problem with the MicroFreak as it's mono all the way. My setup's goin' small and want to get the most out of all the gear features. On the LXR-02 I would lose any panning settings and the stereo ping pong effect i guess. The three would make quite a good sound design/composition workstation I think, unique... microfreak MICROFREAK MicroFreak, thanks
@@RedMeansRecording thank you, yes, mono only, of course, with both microfreak and lxr-02 patched into the separate Digitakt mono inputs, one should be able to access the Digitakt fx also, on separate channels? lot of possibilities, i guess, thanks again
Holy shit, the little dancing guy in combination with the ridiculousness of the music had me just giggling and headbopping all the way through like a deranged person
Toy? Not at all , it’s the best digital synth for the money, it has like 14 synth engines ,including VA,FM and lots of modular oscillators , it has a speech synth, vocoder , Jesus the list goes on , it’s a pressure sensitive keyboard as well that can be connected to any part of the synth e.g LFO, timbre ,pitch, filter etc, best synth I’ve ever owned , it’s a little toy like in its construction though ,it’s totally plastic , mine is in a custom wooden case that I made myself , it looks more professional like that , it’s all about the sound , it sounds great and I love it , I own analogue synths, neutron , crave etc but I’d gladly give them away if I could only keep one synth
@@valley_robot I am not a musician but I have 5 synths. Yes, the MicroFreak might look like a toy. But even though I have spent little time getting to really know it, I can tell that anyone with some imagination can produce many, many types of sounds. As I said, I'm an amateur. But it's hard to imagine a better buy.
this is some ned rush type shit. how great. 'heres completely mental random wave generation controls. lets add some more stuff to it.' id love to be able to use this set up for some d&b bass lines.

A marimba?? This man could blow the roof off with a spoon and a plank of wood
Face hurt from 15 minutes of non-stop stank face Jeremy. Also just realised that I can build a MIDIhub patch to do stuff like this and I'm excited.
Hell yeah
hope you share this patch on patchstorage
Oh shit I can give that a try too!
Oh yeah, no worries... Just put a banger in the outro. No big deal!
Oh boy! The "Getting Weird" installments are my favorite.
Great stuff.
the dancing guy at the end!!! killin' it.
I lost it when the dancing dude appeared :D
I'm saving this for reference when one day I eventually know what the heck I'm doing in ableton.
This slaps, I don't see fidget house popping up enough these days. I love how seemingly complicated but actually super elegant the setup is.
Yeah I was legitimately astounded when the stuff started pouring out of the microfreak. Tons of fun.
TIL the name of this genre
That dude at the end is literary me when listening to this banger.

The textured sounds you pull out of this thing are nothing short of amazing !
The sounds you create. Holy cow.
Late comment but can we talk about the amount of polish and care taken in that final mix? Endlessly impressive as always, Jeremy, damn.
That's insanely goooood ! I watched all new firmware video today but that one "kick des culs" !
Loved this video! Great technique with the snapshots for saving LFO presets.
Thanks for the heads up, updating mine now, it's the synth that keeps giving, also great job as usual!.
I feel properly smacked alright.
Love this.
microfreak is just the gift that keeps on giving
The energy in this vid is infectious, man! Great stuff. You're having a good time and I'm bopping right along with you.
That track at the end is a banger. Nice one.
Geeze man, your videos/tunes just continue to amaze me :) Thanks!
That’s what’s wavetables are for, that’s are the way to present this new feature, that’s the kind of music style I like 👍
Dude your process is so fantastic to watch, thanks for sharing :) xx
A fun time in fun-time land! Damn! Crazy beats to have my breakfast too this morning! Jeremy you rock!
“So, how many LFO’s you wanna use on this track?”
Jeremy: YESSS
INSANE stuff dude, truly amazing🙌🏻🙌🏻
Such a creative interpretation of the new update, gr8 work mate!
Yeah, that was cool. You are the one responsible for getting me back into dance music. Thanks!
Hot damn! That jam had me genuinely smiling with all that chaos
Best. Intro. Ever.
Damn! When you dropped the first sneak peak...
Totally love what you did here! Super inspiring, thank you!
I was looking for a second hand microfreak. Now I might as well just buy a new one.
Thanks, Jeremy!
Nice to see you incorporating the Push2/Daw into doing awesome stuff like this! I've been having fun in fun time land fo sho
Wow i clearly understood all, please go on. You made awesome content.
O YOU A SAVAGE NOW!!! Great vid man! Need to try this soon!
You know shit's going to get serious when the Live theme goes DARK
I love you.
MicroFreak's on my Xmas wishlist.
With the micro freak alone you’re limited to the LFO/cycling envelope/envelope but I wonder how close you could get to something like this right in the machine. Homework for tonight.
Some great sounds on this track love it.
I was gonna say "you're not screwing around", but you actually are screwing around, and it's great! MicroFreak!
Ohhhh hell yeah. So goddamn fun. I'm just gonna jam with dancing track man for the rest of my lunch break.
Long Live MIDI! This looks really fun!!
I appreciate you Jeremy. This is a stanky jam. My whole house stinks now.
Thank you.

That intro 🔥🔥🔥 We finally know why they call it the (Micro)Freak

Had to watch the intro clip a second time 😁
If you don't use ableton you can use Melda's MCCGenerator to spit out crazy modulation. It's in their free pack.
Schweeeeeet!!!! Well, that melted my face off (in a good way). Nice tutorial Big J
Sure, just casually drop an absolute f-ing banger at the end there like it’s an afterthought.
Heccin Hot Hocket Jeremy 🔥❤️🔥🔥
Also officially calling them Wahv, Tahmber, and Shahp from here on out.
Had a great laugh with the dancing creature!
You're the absolute best.
Put this track up on Bandcamp and I'll buy it! 🤘
Great googly-moogly. That was fantastic.
Great track and tutorial! Gotta ask what is the name of the animation character / program?
It's a bunch of gifs I found on tenor I think
Exactly the type of dance music I have been into for a while. Unexpected synth lines. Everybody sda

It would sound mono. If you use the stereo reverb and delay you would only get mono. Not the end of the world.

man where did that vocal pack come from?!? i have been looking for more vocals about ass!
Sold! F#*king amazing dude.
Love your work, the track is🔥🤯! Are you planning to release the final track in any steaming service?
Always an inspiration!
I'm frightened and intrigued by the ThumbFace Yoga person. Can't deny it.
That end banger dude.
Holy shit, Jeremy 💥
Imma gonna have to watch this one at 0.25 speed and try follow along. That's some next level wizardry right there.
Can't wait till I put Massive's Modern Talking wavetable onto the Microfreak
So bang much banger!
0:07 Now that's how you get my attention.
2:48 Memorize those MIDI CC values, everyone.
That final track was fucking filthy, good lord
Hi @Red Means Recording! Great content! sorry but the Oceanswift is down is there any chance to get the files please?
Thanks for these tricks !!
You need to get at my guy Dave King. You’d love his work...
Is the microfreak in the classics hall of fame
Holy shit, the little dancing guy in combination with the ridiculousness of the music had me just giggling and headbopping all the way through like a deranged person
That's the first time I get excited about the Microfreak.
Always saw it more as a toy. Thanks for enlightening me.

This is insanity!
Did I enjoy that? Yes, yes I did. Did I understand what was going on? No, no I didn't.
Me - "I wonder if Jeremy has something about the new Microfreak 4.0 update." !!!/\Head explodes/\!!!
this is some ned rush type shit. how great.
'heres completely mental random wave generation controls. lets add some more stuff to it.'
id love to be able to use this set up for some d&b bass lines.
I really feel the need to get a microfreak.. 🤤
Nice… for once one of your videos doesn’t cost me money ‘cos Andrew Huang already made me buy a Microfreak ;-)
Ocean Swift represent yo
Hmm wondering if I could use the Euroboro midi out to do something similar with LFOs without the daw...
Have the Microfreak the possibilities to automate parameters ,for example make automation wavetable morph or other? Thank you
I fucking love my microfreak
While I like all your content, there's nothing like a good learning experience paired with highly modulated F.U.N!
Absolute slapper
maybe i'm over thinking it but on your drum rack do you have a kick going every 1/4 note and a reversed kick on the last 1/8th note?
I don't think so
You are a mad genius
Haha! I love this!
Where do you get that little glowing guy? That's my new spirit animal now!
I search for weird man on a gif website
@@RedMeansRecording that explains a lot but asks even more questions about me
Awesome
More like RAVEtable! Waka waka!
rad!
That oceanswift m4l page seems to be down and I can't find it elsewhere on the internet. Anyone know of an alternative?
Ableton a Push II. That’s the perfect setup but add a 61 keyboard.
Lame mic optional.
Dammmmm! Dropped them beats!
WHATS THE JAZZ MUSIC YOU PLAYED NEAR THE END?
It's from the RUclips audio library
Brejcha need too have a look.
