- In this full-length interview, Akon talks about his plans for “Akon City” in Senegal, and Akon explained that Covid didn’t cause too many setbacks, with the first phase being completed in 2026. Akon explained that “Akon Tower” and hotel will be completed, along with other facilities to encourage tourism. Akon then revealed that the land is now worth $85 million, but he added that he paid a lot less when he bought it. From there, Akon explained that he was building the “biggest hospital in Africa,” and he added that he thought against putting up statues.
Moving along, Akon talks about the family dynamics back in his home country, Senegal, and his father's marriage to multiple women before giving the backstory of how his parents met. From there, the father of nine addresses the rumors about how many wives he has. As the interview continues, Akon and DJ Vlad discuss the highly publicized "fake vocals" lawsuit regarding Michael Jackson. Moving along, they talk about the landscape of the music business and the way in which several RUclipsrs have surpassed recording artists financially.
Towards the end of the discussion, the Senegalese-American singer/rapper revisits the night his manager, Screw, was tragically shot and the uncanny way that he passed away. He also explains the difference between American women and women born and raised in Africa. Lastly, he shares his thoughts on the debate about which ethnic group started hip-hop.

They have started building military bases across Africa. They are quite literally doing what Europeans did to the rest of the world. How is that a positive? Why shouldn't we compare modern times to colonial period when right now, China is literally colonizing Africa the same way the Europeans did? The Chinese literally whip african workers when they don't work fast enough....there is already tens of thousands of rape cases. The only real difference is, the chinese haven't shot people, YET, but building and garrisoning bases in Africa means that isn't very far away from happening. On the whole choosing financial crisis is a nation's choice, it is no different than saying it was a slave's choice to be a slave since they could have escaped or committed suicide. Lastly, a corrupt leader taking chinese bribes, is not making a choice for the nation, he is making a choice for himself and the nation must suffer the consequences. The african people have no say in whether they get colonized or not, it is the rich in power who do
