Can also use a manual drill or anything to bore through and drill down the center (just until the level of the base, creating a wider concave) that way the edges thin out, then you can use a small flat head screwdriver to nudge the sides inward. The thinner it is, the easier to push. And lessen the damage as well.
Its funny how I discovered this in a fit of frustration. Although some may think so, i dont think the damage is terrible. It's easily fixed with some putty and a thin dowel to keep the screw clear. And if people customize, they end up sanding down the chassis to some extent. Cool vid.
Yeah! Plus a lot of people think that this method wouldn’t work on metal bases, but in fact metal bases will minimize the damage caused by the screwdriver 😂
I tried doing it on my hotwheels and matchbox but it doesn't work whats screwdriver do u use i have a few of them in one pack and i jave glue for the car
this is cool and helpful but the only real way to get the base to stay is to drill pilot holes for screws to hold it back together… thus making the method a little pointless if you’re gonna need a drill anyways no hate just my opinion still useful tho!
Thanks! I didnt use the method yet, but I started some and it looks exactly like here. I want to repaint my SIKU Porsche Cayenne Turbo beacause the paint has been looking bad, and this will definetely help me
did it work? im trying to do the same thing with my siku mercedes sprinter and since it has different rivets not mentioned in the video i do wonder if it works here aswell before i break the entire wheelbase...
Ah... has you were talking, I was wondering if you would damage your base. I guess if you don't have a drill at least you have options. Thanks for sharing. Have an awesome day! From HWFAH (Stunts, Jumps, Flips, Corkscrews, Railslides and Collections)

Very bad way to open them. For simple wheel swaps when you first start out this is a good idea, but eventually you will need a drill/Dremel. Thanks for the tutorial though!

This is a good video but after we customize the car, how do we put it back safe?
This is so smart I’m gonna try this now
Glad I got to help!
how do you keep it from falling apart
Probably just taking it off and the sawing the metal part out and put a screw in
This works but not for every matchbox type car, the ones with both metal bodies and bases are much harder to pry open.
Oooooo yes thank you for this and now im gonna make my car a JDM
EHEHHEHEHE
This actually works I couldn’t believe it at first

Can u put it back
Pov: your hotwheels bottom is metal (T_T)
Very bad way to open them. For simple wheel swaps when you first start out this is a good idea, but eventually you will need a drill/Dremel. Thanks for the tutorial though!
How long does it take for metal???
The rivet is a part of the body , so metal base will not effect the process
noice
One important question-then how to close it??
With a little force it sort of snaps back together in place
Wait how do i put it back on?
How do i put it back
how do i put them back together?
Just snap the base and the body together with some force and then it’ll stay in place
Thank god. I found a neat looking Dodge Dart at the store with the ugliest wheels I've ever seen.
Hey pls upload a vido of how to assemble again
I found a wayyy easier way to remove the shell off without a drill or somethin..😂
How can I get the tool from ?
You can find a flat head screwdriver in pretty much any screwdriver set!
How do u put it back
Well with a Little force it sort of snaps back together and holds in place
Real question.. is ur arm ok?
