    what a ride !!!!!!

    I reach exactly 295 km/h with my Cayman 718 GTS 4.0 PDK according to the speedometer. I drove full speed on a highway in both directions, one direction of which is slightly downhill. I assume that the model is regulated.
    This is also supported by the fact that the 718 GT4, with only 20 hp more, achieves a 16 km/h higher registered top speed (288 to 304), which should not be possible with the low extra power in this speed range.

    Interesting to see it stalling at 286 km/h. I managed to get mine to 295 km/h just 3 weeks ago, and I had to stop accelerating because of the traffic. Could have done more.

      Any pic or vid of that? My Boxster has the limiter kicking in at 289 on the speedo same as on this vid, so it’s quite interesting that you managed to go faster than that, is your car stock?

    • @Dragobrath
      @Dragobrath 21 день назад +1

      @@vvarioPL Fully stock. You can find videos on youtube with people going even faster. I saw one going over 300. I'd guess that there can be regional locks, or maybe road incline, wind allowed faster speeds.

      yeah, i was on the autohahn with mine last summer. only got to 219km/h as i was always too nervous that some muppet would just pull out without indicating or pull out just as they indicated.

    I tried that with my 718GTS4.0 PDK, Top Speed so far 289. Wonder if 300 is possible

      I think I've seen a video of a 4.0 doing 308 km/h, my own PB was 296, and the car definitely could have done more.

      On the speedo it was 289, exactly the same as your top speed. Data from overlay was collected from an external GPS device, and it should be more accurate.

    • @swansmeister
      @swansmeister 2 месяца назад +3

      Yep and it reaches it much faster to, the 4.0 N/A engine is overrated, people always wine about the sound but the 4 banger sounds awesome to, just different.

    • @Dragobrath
      @Dragobrath 2 месяца назад

      @@swansmeister Having driven both, I'd still pick 4.0 over 2.5t, but if I owned a 2.5t, I probably wouldn't bother with switching for 4.0 (as many people do). Platform, the chassis, the weight distribution is the best thing about Cayman.

    • @swansmeister
      @swansmeister 2 месяца назад +1

      @@Dragobrath Don't understand that, besides the sound it's better at nothing and sound is merely an opinion. The gts 2.5 is better at everything else, it's lighter, faster, better fuel economy, less taxes (over here in Belgium 2200euro difference annually) and those aren't opinions but facts. Imo people buy the 4.0 just because it's a 6 cylinder and it's ego driven.

    • @Dragobrath
      @Dragobrath 2 месяца назад

      @@swansmeister I prefer linear power delivery, and the engine is at lesser strain.
      The rest isn't a big concern to me. Sound is subjective, but if you like 4.0 sound more, then the engine would be better for you as well.

    • @swansmeister
      @swansmeister 2 месяца назад

      @@Dragobrath Less strain on the engine? I'm sure the engine is fine being turbo'ed, I got mine (only even the 2.0l) tuned heavely at 138000km and it's doing fine. I like the engine note of the 4 banger boxer, more than the 6 cylinder. Like I said it's the better car at all area's why would I wanna trade that, even on track it's the better car (with some slight mods) but even than it doesn't even come close to the price of a gts 4.0 or gt4. To each their own but it's a no brainer for me.

    I wouldn't trust them too much. I've also come across people in Porsches who have pulled out into the left-hand lane without looking. Then suddenly having to slow down from 220-240 to 120 is not very funny.
