    In the video SBR is applied over what seems to be wooden floorboards. Do you need to filling the gaps between the floorboards first before priming and levelling? If so, what would you use to fill the gaps?

      Thank you for your question….
      For many floor coverings and such as Tiling and LVT, it is often required to overlay the floor prior to installation to stabilise the floor or provide a more suitable platform.
      Although Dunlop LX360 can be used on single layer timber floors, if your floor is not suitable, or you have gaps, you may wish to consider the following.
      For resilient flooring, including LVT and Vinyl, overlay the floor using a minimum of 6mm Flooring Grade Ply. Apply one undiluted coat the Dunlop Multi-Purpose Primer. Alternatively, Dunlop Universal Bonding Agent may also be applied, two coats, diluted at 1:2 by volume with clean water. Then mix and install the Dunlop LX360 product.
      For the installation of Ceramic or Porcelain tiles, a tile backerboard is preferred, such as BAL Board 6mm. Ensure the tongue and groove floorboards are secured, and then prime with 2 x undiluted coats of Dunlop Multi-Purpose Primer before installing the Tile Backerboard using Dunlop CF03 and mechanically fix at 300mm centres. Dunlop Multi-Purpose Primer can then be used on the surface of the backerboard, diluted at 1:1 by volume with clean water, prior to mixing and installing Dunlop LX360.
      Please note, if the floor has excessive movement and deflection, additional preparation may be required.

    Is there a similar product in the US? We are all about flexibility.

    Have a 20sq metre bedroom (wooden floor) where there is an old levelling compound that has been laid many years ago and has severely cracked and parts coming away.
    In some places the level needs to be around 30mm, others 5mm, so this product seems ideal.
    Can you advise if this would be OK to lay on top of old leveller and a rough guide to how many bags.
    Thank you

      Thank you for your question…. Firstly, any timber floor needs to be stable and free from deflection. Secondly, it is extremely difficulty for us to guarantee our system when installing over other “failed” products.
      It is concerning that the existing levelling compound has cracked and “come away”, this would certainly indicate excessive movement in the floor, in which case the LX-360 product may suffer a similar fate, in time. It may be prudent to overboard the existing timber floor with a 6mm tile backer board such as BAL Board 6mm. This would be installed with a thin layer of tile adhesive (using a 6mm notched trowel) such as Dunlop CF-03 and then mechanically fixed using non-corrosive screws (300mm centres). Once installed, prime the face (dull side) with Dunlop Tilers Primer pre diluted at 1:1 and then install the Dunlop LX-360 to the desired depth.
      At 15mm in thickness (on average) you will require approximately 22 x 20kg units. However, please note this can vary on depths required and is not inclusive of any excess you may need.

    Hi. I am in need of a compound or filler to fill a small 40-50mm gap from a crack that has occured in between my external garage brick/mortar wall and the concrete. The cracking is at the mortar line and if i remove the pieces with my hand i can see the dirt beneath. I was advised to use Dunlop levelling compound to fill this gap and then once its settled run a silicone bead over it for protection. Can you please advise if this is suitable?

      Unfortunately not… you would require a DPM and concrete for such repairs. Dunlop levelling compounds are to provide a flat surface finish prior to tiling or floor laying for example on existing structural backgrounds, not to create one.

    Is it flammable when cured? Do you have the fire safety rating? Can it be used near to open fires?

    • @DunlopTrade
      @DunlopTrade  Год назад +1

      Cement based systems are generally “non combustible” however, not all cement based products carry the A1 Non Combustible Fire Rating, as there is generally no requirement, unless using around a Fire Place for example. If you need the A1 rating, then you may wish to consider a suitable Tile Backer Board, such as BAL Board, which carries the rating you require.
      However, on the floor, in the living space adjacent to a fire place, there is generally no requirement for the A1 Fire Rating.

    Is it okay to use leveling compound for primary purposes; for example applying in my garage without following up with tile or any other installs after level compound application. Is it okay to drive over with a car? Thx

      I am sorry but the DUNLOP Levelling compounds are not suitable as a wearing surface and must have a tile finish.

    Is it ok to use this product over a stable but uneven plywood subfloor, and apply a nail down hardwood floor finish
    on top? Thx

    • @DunlopTrade
      @DunlopTrade  2 года назад

      Thanks for your enquiry. Ensure that the floor is sound and stable and screwed down at (minimum 300mm centres) and not nailed. To provide a solid floor, use a plywood overlay minimum 15mm thickness. If the plywood subfloor is sound and solid, LX-360 can be applied directly after priming. To prime, use 2 coats of undiluted DUNLOP Tilers Primer or 2 coats of DUNLOP Universal SBR Bonding Agent (diluted 2 parts water to 1 part DUNLOP Universal SBR Bonding Agent by volume). Each coat must be left to dry before applying the second coat. Visit www.dunloptrade.com/tiling for further information on application and preparation.

    Can I use this to smoothen an asphal or tarmac floor that this sloped, rather than level it out?

      Both Dunlop LX-200 & LX-360 may be used on Flooring Grade Asphalt (only), however to a maximum of 6mm.

      Thanks for your enquiry. LX-360 is only suitable for internal areas and unfortunately, we don't currently have anything on the range that can be applied over a roof membrane.
