The first thing I noticed, when I started the video, was how immaculate your shop looked. I knew then that you are a true perfectionist. Well done, very professional.
I know you’ll adjust your pads, compounds, and polish as needed, but I wish you’d give us that detail each time to help us learn and adjust based on your knowledge and history with paints.
Your attention to detail is second to none. The final output looks great.
Kudos to you Coleton on achieving such a great finish and in having such pride, deservedly so, in your work. Have you ever figured out what it is about the Tesla manufacturing / factory process that puts so many scratches in the paintwork to begin with or is this across the industry and just more noticeable with Tesla given the paint hardness?
When we purchased a vehicle they should allow us to go around the car with our lights before signing paperwork lol. Then ask for a reduce price due to the scratches lol.
how many hour job is this? approx. cost? how long does ceramic coating last?
Around 40 hours. Typically starts at $3,000
Amazing work!
Hey Coleton, just as a remark, I recently bought a Tesla from Hertz, and the b pillar applique on my model 3 had deep level scratches in the glass that polishing couldn't remove, knowing it was a used car and that whole part is $300+ I looked into how to repair it myself, I bought a wet sanding kit made just for glass and was able to remove all the deep level scratches without damaging or reducing the integrity of the glass, I'm currently working on a video, cause I did document the process. Now of course that customer you had, had a fresh off the lot car with a full warranty so yeah replacing that part makes more sense, but I wanted to put it out there the glass can be repaired and there is a way if it was an out of warranty car.
Looks very nice!
What a roller coaster! After you washed the car, I thought it looks great.....when you turned the lights off it was a freakin mess!! 70 miles and the paint looked like that? Unreal. I remember your review of the Q2 Mohs EVO ceramic coating. Would you use this again? Sounds like you used something better they offer? I could be wrong? Thanks.
I use Gyeon Infinite Base Type 1, pro level only coating.
Hi, great video. What pads, compound and polish have you used?
Moment it his the road it's going to get chipped to bits lol
Great Video Coleton ! ! ! Could you please remind me how its called the ceramic coating, in spray form which is easy to use and if there is something similar in Europe ? Do you apply it after cleaning and then rinse it or you have to buff it ? Thanks in advance, keep the 9000 lv work !
How much does this cost?
What type of car washing/products do you recommend for up keep after your car receives a proper ceramic coating?
Check out my maintenance detail vod
Front bumper camera or accent lighting on this one?
Nope
Not yet, Tesla just started to build with the front bumper camera and they had a big push for Q1 deliveries to blow out all the old Model S & X. I was in the two Tesla showrooms this week and there were no MS or X to show. The sales people are clueless about the changes but I know a worker in the factory who said you will see the refreshes only after all the old inventory is sold. There is no way Tesla will put in the showroom the refreshed version and then deliver you an old version. Demand for S & X is low so you will not see the refreshes until Q2. The refreshes are relatively minor and will not change the demand picture. Look for more softness and deals at the end of each quarter. 2024 will be very difficult for all EV sales. I do have to say the refreshed Model 3 is a welcome addition to the aging Tesla lineup.
Odd to spend ao mich money prepping a cheap disposable car
All it really boils down to is that you can’t afford it so you hate on it. Sad
Colton ,while I appreciate your quality work I have to say I am sick of The Tesla content lately Any real EV Fan knows that Tesla build quality just stinks from day 1, a decade gone and they still shake rattle and roll. I have driven several and everyone has so much wind and road noise. Seems like the detailing on Teslas is a waste of money.
😂😂😂😂😂 you are talking so much crap!! No manufacturer produces a perfect car, literally 25 years in the industry and I can honestly tell you, if you think they do, your wrong
@@kcalla82 I didn't say there sre perfect cars knuckle head. I said that Tesla has had issues and everyone I have driven so far is a disappointment. Model 3 has wind noise from doors that are frameless and whisle. Model S has so many trunk noises like your carrying loose items and the road noise in both are horrible. Even Kyle thought so. Model X still has issues with the wing doors and glass shattering. So fan boy your the one who is in denial . I never said other vehicle don't have issues. Of course they do.
@@kcalla82yea, agree completely. Ferrari, Aston Martin, lotus, all come with widely experienced issues. Hating on Tesla seems to be popular, but it doesn’t seem any worse or any better than any other car company in terms of quality control.
All this work. And car needs to go to SC for glass replacement. How do they replace that glass without touching and scratching car?
