这乐器的音色取决于乐器的材质，乐器的材质决定价格高低。
材质欠佳的空灵鼓，可能会有音色不佳（敲铁声）的状况出现。
建议选择好品质的空灵鼓。
目前空灵鼓常见的有8音，11音，13音，14音及15音。
建议选择15音空灵鼓，可以弹奏较多的乐曲。
