Finally! Someone who does a tutorial on a mod the right way. I really appreciate that you don't just rush through everything at high speed, making it difficult to keep up. And you keep a good pace with not only explaining how thing work, but also with saying what is used to craft things. This video was GREAT! Thank you for going at a good speed and presenting so well and explaining things simple and clearly! And thanks for not constantly yapping about things that have nothing to do with the tutorial!

Well done, you have earned a sub :D PS: I was wondering if you could spotlight Industrial Craft 2 because it has gone through a major update in which no one has spotlighted, I certainly don't have a clue on how it is now done!

Nice tutorial! I had no idea redstone engines no longer produced power in BC6. Also, do you have any modpack in mind for you next speedplay series? I'm just curious.
Well, it doesn't make a big difference, but we used to be able to power pumps with Redstone Engines, but now we can't it seems. But at the same time it feels kind of logical since they are only powered with one piece of Redstone Dust in the crafting recipe :) Regarding modpack, I was hoping for the FTB packs to be presented by now, but I read that Jadedcat had some IRL stuff and that more people recently joined to help out. But unless they are presented within shortly I will have to change pack to something from AT or Technic, because I really want to get started :)
therealtkh If I'm not mistaken, asiekierka (the current maintained of BC) said redstone engines should be able to power pumps again in the new versions.
Raga B M Oh, ok. Thanks for the info. This is a tricky part when doing tutorials/spotlights, because we never know if things are changing. I think the engines won't explode now either (config setting), we just have to hit them with a wrench if they get too hot. So if I think that something is a new feature or an intentional change - it might change again tomorrow :)
MastaNinja Haha, I've had many comments about pronunciation and such, this is the first one about the "S":es ;) My microphone (Blue Yeti) is quite sensitive, that could be a reason as well.
***** Good suggestion, I read the article. I'm not sure how big difference it would be in my setup though. I have the mic roughly at a 20cm distance slightly to the side and perhaps a little above my mouth. I can understand that it makes a difference if mic is closer to the mouth... But it should be a quick test to find out. The Yeti is almost annoyingly sensitive...
Hello, thanks for sharing this! I'm new to BC, and very confused. Considering this is the newest version and you only go through the new features (at least that's what I think), should I watch tutorials of the older versions too? I'm only 13, I need help with this ;-;
Many things with BuildCraft from before are still valid, like pipes and gates etc. But I want to cover the entire mod throughout a tutorial series, I'm just a little behind on making BC videos, that's all :) If you're in a hurry to learn BC, you can probably find a lot of still valid info in older tutorials from other people.
Oh thanks, glad to hear that! It motivates me to get started with next subject in the mod tonight (hopefully) with a video hopefully within a few days!
You make great tutorials :) I just started modding and trying to connect buildcraft engines to apllied energistics. Any chance you have tutorials for connecting the two together?
+benjaminisred Thanks, glad to hear that :) AE2 and BC can work just fine together, but what exactly do you want to do? What items do you want to feed into what engine?
To start with I first want to power my ME storage without needing to keep putting coal into a vibration chamber. I saw that I could use lava from the nether with the right set up. But i may start with refined oil as i have access to a lot of oil in my world. It's the connections i don't seem to get right. Is it a P2P tunnel that i need? Is there specific wires I need to craft to plug one into another? Thanks for the help!
+benjaminisred You can power your AE network in three ways. Now, BuildCraft uses the Thermal Expansion power system, that means RF. The standard power system for an ME Network is AE. 1. Change in config file to set RF as default power for ME Networks. 2. Use an Energy Acceptor anywhere in the network to recieve RF energy. 3. Connect your RF power network (Kinesis Pipes perhaps) directly to an ME Controller. However, you will lose 32 channels in the network since you can't use that side of the controller. Hope it helps!
Nice video, I appreciate the amount of effort you put in to an organised presentation. Well done. Quick question - Those pipes that were connecting to the water pump in the last mini-factory what were they called and what were they for?
Thanks, glad to hear that :) So there are actually three pipes connected to the water pump. The one going down is of course a part of the Pump and not placed by me. Then we have the transport pipe for liquids (Fluid Pipe I think) on top. And then on the side I have a power pipe (Kinesis Pipe) that will keep the pump running. I haven't done a proper tutorial for all different transport pipes....yet... ;)
Who knew that Mojang got the hopper idea from buildCraft. Besides it has to be like that because if the chute name use to be hopper than Mojang had to get the idea from that. I seen some new crafting recipes for the 1.13 update and it almost looks like it is a crafting recipe from a mod and no it's not because it's a new update because I would of said that for the bone block. It might be because it is using new items.
Thanks! Yeah, the idea with a tutorial series like this is to cover as much as possible - both Big and small things. So both experienced and beginners can learn new things :)
Oh totally, and progressing through it quickly enough that old hats like me will stick around to learn a few tricks I'd missed.or catch up on the new things that've changed.
the newer version of Buildcraft, 1.7.18 no longer uses lava do you have any idea on how to edit this option back on in the java files, I have looked but I cant find the option that has been disabled
I didn't know that, thanks for telling :) Lava seems to work in the Stirling Engine, but is lowered to 10 RF/t (same as Charcoal, but will last for much longer). I don't know if it's possible to edit this in any way...
i know but it only works using buckets... which ruins my 16 engine generators ¬.¬ its a real pain for me but by this point Im using nuclear reactors for my main source of power, ill just have to back date to an older version of BC until I can work out how to change the java files to re-enable lava as valid combustion fuel or make the steam engine take liquid lava rather then buckets
Or you accept the change and do it "BuildCraft Style"! Use a pipe system, a flood gate and a striped pipe to pick up lava with empty buckets, use diamond pipes to sort empty/filled buckets and then fill your stirling engines with lava. Control everything with pipe wire to handle supply and demand. THAT'S a fun build right there! I just tried the part with striped pipe to stirling engine and it works just fine. Now you do the rest ;)
Ive already got a system in place that fills buckets for my 20 ore smelting furnace's, using a tankcart and a liquid loader/unloader and returns the goods to my central materials handling and storage centre, the problem is the vast amounts of water that I have no real use for until I can get a decent supply of oil having depleted 3 wells already
So weird, I have not experienced this before! I cannot play it on on computer either. On mobile it did play, but had no sound. Not sure what to do... I guess reach out to YT support if it stays this way...
+Vincent Gonzalez To my knowledge there has not been any major changes in the mod so far - so this tutorial series should still be valid. But I don't know how much will be different in real 1.8 versions.
I downloaded it and lots of objects were un-textured, such as pipes, robots, and the quarry's didn't work im switching to the 1.8.9 version, and overhauling all my mods
Late answer, youtube only give me a few of the comments since a week or so... But anyway. Still have problem with this? Sounds like a bad version or something incompatible in the mod pack/selection. What are you running?
First of all, it's calm, not sad :) But I have it there for two reasons; 1. I think it's more appropriate than disco, techno or metal. 2. I think it feels better than total silence when learning new things. I hope that answers your question ;)
Toby Desilets Not being able to craft is a "common" problem in modpacks, and NEI will often be a big help in this because sometimes recipes change. And in some packs, blocks may even be removed. So what modpack or mod selection are you using (with version info)?
+TheDinosaur KingX For buildcraft download you mean? Well, the website has changed, so it would have been incorrect anyway, but nowadays I only use the Curse Client to download mods, most of them are in there. But I should have download links for the mod I cover to be fair.
+Kweshon Cuff I'm not sure I understand, what do you want it to do except for generate power, automatically mine, provide means for automated resource handling... Oh, and robots for everything else? :)
TKH The robots are a bit glitchy, I don't know anyone that actually uses them. The most useful things in the mod are the quarry and the pipes. So basically it can sort things and mine. That's cool and useful, but isn't really a whole lot. It's just making it so you don't have to mine or sort chests by yourself. And if you're wanting diamonds you're better off with a silk touch pick anyways, I don't find the quarry gets me enough diamonds considering the amount of time it takes to finish. To get the most out of the mod it's best played other mods (Ic2 for example).
+Kweshon Cuff I agree to the Robots part, they can do a lot (planting, chopping wood, mining, etc), but I never got them to work in a stable way (that's why I haven't done a tutorial video on them yet). I have followed BC for a long time, and I know that the idea with the mod differ from a lot of other very popular mods. It is a type of base mod, and can be played as the only mod in a "vanilla pack" to still have a quite true vanilla experience (except for the Robots) if you understand what I mean. I know that it is a deliberate design choice to have it in a certain way. It is not meant to compete with other mods, for example, ore doubling has never been introduced for a reason. Right or wrong, I don't know. But since BC was one of the first mods I played with a few years ago I guess I'm defending it for nostalgic reasons as well ;)
TKH It's a great mod, I know where you're going saying that by itself it's very useful if you still want a vanilla feel. Me saying that it didn't do much itself wasn't much of a insult, more of a realization. I always thought of it as a big mod considering how well it worked with other mods, but after seeing this video I realized that didn't really do a whole lot.
+Kweshon Cuff I understand what you mean. But there are a few more things to the mod after this video, I wouldn't say it always works perfectly, but it's quite fun to copy a building and re-build it automatically with blueprints. Architect Table and Builder are cool blocks. But I would say that the most useful thing in the mod is the gate system, and often it works great with other mods to do very smart builds :)
I would say thanks this vids is is useful but...I'd be basically repeating what every1 else, LOL.....buuut they and I are right so this vids is useful :P
Most of the things you do with Buildcraft someone else has done somewhere else before... It's practicality and simplicity is the only thing saving this older-than-god mod.

In what version? Normally the Quarry will auto-output items directly into any pipe or like in this video: into a chest.

Might have been successful in initiating the encoding process and it seems to work now for me. Please check and I hope it helps.
@@therealtkh seems to play now, thanks
is there any change to the 1.8 version? (to my knowledge there is a 1.8 version of this mod)
+Vincent Gonzalez To my knowledge there has not been any major changes in the mod so far - so this tutorial series should still be valid. But I don't know how much will be different in real 1.8 versions.
I downloaded it and I noticed that lots of items were un-textured items in the inv
+Vincent Gonzalez Isn't the 1.8 version the april fools day version? :)
I downloaded it and lots of objects were un-textured, such as pipes, robots, and the quarry's didn't work
im switching to the 1.8.9 version, and overhauling all my mods
whats the mod where if u hover over the block it says the name of the block and the mod its from. whats the name of the mod.
+ShowerDaily My modlist for these videos can be found in the video description. I mainly use WAILA for tooltips.
thx bro, strongly appreciate it!
The wrench does absolutely nothing for me!!!! Help!!!
Exactly what are you trying to do with the wrench to start with? :)
Are you from Sweden? Just gotta ask cuz it sounds that way :)
+Spritt Sprangande Hehe, I am indeed ;)
Härligt :)
what modpack are you using
+ge14lito My tutorials has only hand-picked mods. All info is in the video description - in every video.
good choice with bricks for the walls
Great Tutorial, thank you!
+Pauline Bowling Thank you :)
Lol couldn't get combustion engines to work in the modpack modsauce and i just found out they needed a redstone signal XD
Any idea why my game crashes every time I open an engine?
Late answer, youtube only give me a few of the comments since a week or so... But anyway. Still have problem with this? Sounds like a bad version or something incompatible in the mod pack/selection. What are you running?
where do u find those energy cells?
and also, i may have missed it but how do i get fluids out of tanks?
Didn't I say in the video? Anyway, they are from Thermal Expansion. Buildcraft has no way of storing power in a cell.
Oh, I have made several BC videos and this topic is covered in the transport pipe video, find it in the playlist :)
why is there really sad music in the back ground?
First of all, it's calm, not sad :) But I have it there for two reasons;
1. I think it's more appropriate than disco, techno or metal.
2. I think it feels better than total silence when learning new things.
I hope that answers your question ;)
how do i make oil and fuel? thx in advance
Around 19 minutes into this video I pump up oil and refine it to fuel...
TKH thanks mate. I like your accent
Oh, thank you!
Work station don't work. I cannot craft the AutoWorkbench.
Toby Desilets Not being able to craft is a "common" problem in modpacks, and NEI will often be a big help in this because sometimes recipes change. And in some packs, blocks may even be removed. So what modpack or mod selection are you using (with version info)?
Ohhh Thx man!
Lel
I never knew that but whenever I get modpacks they're all finished so.. this is very embarrassing.
Uh no have not used info.
Do do that to see the crafting recipe?
I can't check any such things, I'm on vacation now. But what modpack are you using? Can you find the blocks in NEI? Some packs totally removes items.
I like your channel you are swedish right?
+daniel alcots- herobriny gaming Thanks! Yes, I'm Swedish ;)
why do u leave no link in the description
+TheDinosaur KingX For buildcraft download you mean? Well, the website has changed, so it would have been incorrect anyway, but nowadays I only use the Curse Client to download mods, most of them are in there. But I should have download links for the mod I cover to be fair.
@@therealtkh ok thanks

The somber music in the background o_0
thanks for the Tutorial
Buildcraft doesn't really do much by itself huh?
Thank you so much :)

Your voice is so... soothing... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Cool :)
I would say thanks this vids is is useful but...I'd be basically repeating what every1 else, LOL.....buuut they and I are right so this vids is useful :P
Most of the things you do with Buildcraft someone else has done somewhere else before... It's practicality and simplicity is the only thing saving this older-than-god mod.
thank you
Build craft is not the first technology in minecraft its thermal expansion the father of technology in minecraft
they need a 1.8.0 version
They have a beta for 1.8.9, isn't that good enough? ;)
I have 1.8.0 Forge, I want a fun mod and this is a Fun Mod, they need that 1.8.0 Version, not everybody has a 1.8.9 Forge Version
