Hey Arnold! LockJaw Jazz extended to 30 minutes. Relax and enjoy the Smooth Jazz. #jazzmusic #heyarnold #meditationmusic #sleepingmusic #relaxingmusic #stressrelief
Hey Arnold's soundtrack really is great, if you're interested in any other amazing soundtracks from cartoons, check out the one from Ed, Edd n Eddy, so good as well
I've watched cartoons and shows like this late at night on Splat (TeenNick later at night) when I was younger. I don't know if it's still there, but that's one way
I can never let the beautiful soundtrack from this masterpiece of a show go 😭 I always come back to feel like I’m a kid in the 90s again when things were very different. Now I’m old and nostalgia seems to occupy my thoughts. This song satisfies that nostalgia.
Man I love hey Arnold so much smh it’s funny because growing up I use to always watch it but never like it when it was on mainly because I was too young and the characters I didn’t get , but the atmosphere and the vibe that it gave off I ALWAYS appreciated, now being an older 27 y/o I look back am can appreciate this gem of a cartoon and now that I look back as well on certain episodes that I remember , taught some good life lessons that were beneficial to my mindset and how I view the world .. always loved the jazzy tone/vibe it gave off even though this wasn’t my favorite nicktoon, this screams my childhood, 97 baby !!!!
I wonder if all childhood nostalgia feels like this to the respective individual/generation or if some childhood era's are objectively better. Lot's of awful stuff happened in the early to mid 90s all over the world so I'm sure it was just the lucky few nations that had it sweet. That said, I'd go back to my age 7 1997 afterschool afternoons, vacant block and scrubland adventures and my first pokemon card in a heartbeat
The music for Hey Arnold should have gotten an Emmy. Jim Lang's contributions to that show and the world of jazz should be acknowledged. His scores are absolutely wondrous.
The feel I get from this music is that not everything has always to go perfect, that sometimes we feel down, but it's okay. That life isn't always pink colored, and sometimes there are clouds above our head that won't leave for a while. It's okay to allow yourself to feel down when you need to.
Interesting, very nice description! For me it’s like, yeah things can seem really bad, but then there’s also an escape, if for no other reason than the music. But most likely it’s a complex yet very real escape.
Man this brings me back to a much simpler time. The golden light of the setting sun illuminates my bedroom in a cozy warm glow, as i sit, lost in my own thoughts after a rough day. After mulling it over, i decide that it'll be alright... afterall, the future holds endless possibilities... Oh, and dinner is almost ready, better go help mother set the table!
That's what jazz is, its emotional music, the kind of music that makes you sit down and think and stare at the floor, the wall, just sitting there thinking constantly, about things that just get too sad. Sometimes it's better to feel that way, cuz when the tears stop, that's when the new life starts.
Another Sunday. Raining in the city. I'm debating on a second glass of scotch when a knock interrupts my slightly hazy thoughts. I tell them to come in, and she makes a hell of an entrance in a pink satin dress that drapes over her body as if it's hanging on for dear life. Our eyes lock for a second that seems to last far longer until she breaks the moment by telling me she heard I was in the kind of business she was looking for. A typical case. Her rich husband has been dodging her questions lately and was coming home smelling of cigars and a foreign perfume not found in her own dresser. She hands me a manila envelope full of cash and information for the job and asks me to be discrete. I tell her it's a small city but that I'd try my best. She gives me her number and thanks me; turns to leave. Right before she leaves the door frame and my life once more I call out to her. "Hey, Pataki... Sorry I couldn't make it to your wedding. I'll take care of this for you." She looks back at me with a forlorn smile on her face and while she speaks almost in a whisper, I can read her lips as clearly as the dawn breaks the night. "Thanks Arnold."
I’ve always loved Hey Arnold but what I get from listening to this: An autumn day, colored leaves 🍁 blowing in the wind the smell of apple cinnamon walking not knowing where or even have a care just walking til the sky roars and the clouds release raindrops. One falls on your forehead and you look up gazing at the lightening appreciating everything you’re seeing, then it pours. You run for cover and realize your crush is underneath the shade of a coffee cafe as you. You both look at each other not knowing your crush has a crush on you. ❤
With such a timeless soundtrack that could get a whole generation of children into jazz - I'm convinced that it isn't just nostalgia, but that we truly did experience the last great era of animated television. I really feel for those that weren't able to be there in the moment. It truly was a moment in time that can't be replicated.
I remember I was young when I first found out I could see this on my tv instead of youtube and I was so excited to watch it and I downloaded some and I was watching them with my eldest brother and some of my toys with me, sweet memories which I will never forget, take care everyone.
Almost a decade ago, I emailed the composer, Jim Lang, asking the same thing. Here is his reply: Thanks for your note. Forgive the glacial pace of my reply. You know- I seldom hear anything that strikes me as similar to the Hey Arnold Score, but I recently watched the film “Ocean’s Twelve” and David Holmes’ score seemed to reference Hey Arnold every now and then. An interesting experience... Don’t know where to steer you for exactly what you are looking for, but check out Thelonious Monk Flying Lotus Mad Lib John Cage and Stevie Wonder Plus: I would say if you have a Mac- open up Garage Band, pull in a few hip hop loops, add some thelonious monk phrases and then take your laptop downtown and record some street noise and mess with it- see what happens when you mash it up! Cheers! JL
If you like this track you might like Blue in Green by Miles Davis. It’s more of that bluesy melancholia vibe. Or Erykah Badu (has vocals) or BadBadNotGood.
I like goin out on the porch late at night with this song playing on the speakers. I’m always hoping someone is able to hear it and that it makes their night more chill.
Ima tell my son “back in my day “ about this show and be 100% right.
I did my kids adapted to the show and Arnold's personality I'm so proud
Just absolutely stunning
So cool that this exists
Hey Arnold had the best soundtrack for a kids cartoon. Jim Lang wasn’t afraid to have upfront emotional music
Hey Arnold's soundtrack really is great, if you're interested in any other amazing soundtracks from cartoons, check out the one from Ed, Edd n Eddy, so good as well
thanks for noticing thats nice.
Atmospherical is the term I would’ve used.
It really isn’t fair that today’s kids won’t get to experience this. The creators of this show made my childhood.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS SAME
Yes they will! I'm currently watching all seasons of Hey Arnold on Paramount+
I watched it bro, there's episodes on youtube

Damn that's good
That was beautiful
That was the lamest thing I’ve ever read
Sou brasileiro e sempre curti essa vibe.
Hey Arnold always had the most chill vibe ever
Dude I did NOT need such emotional music as a kid. No wonder why my first instrument in band was saxophone and then guitar and bass.

Alguns tristes dias de um homem que fez da própria mente uma prisão. Olhos são como janelas; pena que ficam embasados às vezes. Mas enfim.
