My Ant is built and I finally figured out how to use the newer Flatcam version 8.94 and got bCNC to probe a board. The Racerstar BR2830 ran too hot and melted the pulley and mount before I could get my first board finished. I hope to find a different motor that won't require the extensive mods to the head part. The NEMA8 stepper on the Z-axis worked well.
Hi, we never tried. From our little experience for sure you would need an appropriate bit for that kind of machining, maybe an helicoidal bit. If you try we would reccomend to do more than one step in the Z-axis, since trying to remove all the 3 mm may be really stressing.
We will do a video about this, in the meantime we wrote down some notes here : bitbucket.org/compactpcbmaker/cpcbm/wiki/firmware/Compile%20and%20Install%20Firmware.md#!how-to-install There are also information about it on mbed and in the producer site.
Dear Ant team, I just finished my Ant pcb maker, wow, everything looks good so far, after quite a hassle. Great design and nice tutorials, but I miss one thing, and that's a test file, or is there one somewhere? I really like to drill something now :)
Very nice, good work! We just uploaded in our repository a test PCB project with some gcodes for first tests. Here is the link: bitbucket.org/compactpcbmaker/cpcbm/src/master/testPCB/ Enjoy!

Do you have a procedure for doing double sided pcbs?
Yes, we are working on a procedure, we did something (take a look at our instagram), but we still need to work on it before presenting it.
