Superb!! The contrast between Villanova and IU's offense is stunning. I would imagine Coach Woody will even install a few new wrinkles that they use in the NBA as well. Can't wait for the season to start. Thanx again for all your valuable work for our benefit !!

Love these breakdowns (and the malformed circles). Would be fun to see an update with IU's offense from this past season. Still felt like there was a lot of gravity in the posts with Woodson going with Trayce/Race or Trayce/Malik and some timid shooters (outside of the big JHS games and Purdue's drop coverage). I assume that with Trayce's effectiveness down low and limited range, we haven't seen much of Coach's 4 out offense. Hopefully he can leverage the portal to fill 3 open roster spots with longer, athletic willing shooters and a rim protector.

Hey Coach, i was hopeful after watching your analysis several months ago, but the offense we saw last night didn't look anything like this. Curious if Woodson is putting his own spin on the 4-out or if he plans to run something different. Any thoughts?

No point in all that running around when seventy percent of the players on the team couldn't shoot forty percent anywhere outside of 8 ft from the basket the last 5yrs unguarded. The defense won't guard you. They just collapse to 9 ft. Game over.
Looks like Woody has it under control. Looking forward to better things.
If they shoot 50 percent free throw percentage again and still have a scholarship I will turn it off and not watch IU again until the next coaching change! They should've been cut in Jr. High before Archie could recruit them.

These guys could score in high school, they didn't suddenly forget how to shoot. I think a lot had to do with poor lucks, contested shots, rushed shots, entirely because of that stand around offense. The only thing I can think about the FT problem is practice. I have no idea how Miller practiced these kids, but it doesn't look like they worked on those kinds of fundamentals.

I think it has something to do with the weight lifting program. Lifting weights messes up shooting. Not understanding the offense didn't help. It wasn't just one or two players missing shots most college players make. It was most of the team.
Multiply that with lack of concentration on free throws. To busy worrying about congratulating each other if they ever made one. Looked like a cartoon I saw as a kid. Thank you! Thank you! Great job! Yes. Thank you! Need a rodeo clown to run out and slap asses after every made free throw.
Two of the best free throw shooters ever had a system to shoot free throws. You can watch them both on RUclips. One has to wonder why they aren't using one? Doesn't look stylish and modern evidently. Maybe it looks cooler to lose games, scholarships, pro contracts than dare to look old fashioned?

This offense is good but probably not good enough to beat Purdue. 😂😂
