As a fellow theatre technician, I understand what you mean when you said earlier that you were ready for a change. I'm in a similar boat as you in that I am also transitioning into a new career path. For me personally, I got tired of my time and skills being undervalued. And when I was young and bright-eyed, I was content with making a small amount in exchange for the experience of being in theatre. However, as I got older I needed to make a more substantial income...and finding jobs like that in theatre are hard to come by. Now I'm moving on into the world of finance. It's a complete 180 for me...and it's going to be a long road. I will always love and miss the energy of working in such a collaborative and caring environment. Theatre people truly are some of the best people in the world. But I also know that this move for me will be worth it, just as this move for you will be as well. You're not screaming in the dark on this journey. I'm going through it now, too. To paraphrase Walt Disney, "Keep moving forward...". Cheers.

Oh man, that is so sad.
