Thank you for this bud! Had mine about 3 years must of used it 4/5 times had 5 minutes this morning and poof it blew, stripped it apart ( thanks to you lol ) and it’s the same bit, I contacted Karcher who basically blamed me for incorrectly setting it up and said I used the wrong hosepipe 🙄 cheers again 🫡
Mate i loved this video . Not only have you given me the incentive to strip my Karcher down and find the leak , But i had a good laff as well . Brute force works every time ha ha . good on ya
Brilliant, worked for me... first time I repaired anythings like this. Thank you. For pulling the difficult to get to pin from the handle, a pointy pliers worked.
Thanks. I have a Yr old K4. There are no issues so far, but I'm glad to know I can fix if that problem occurs. However, I might struggle to remove the leaking bit as I don't have your strength!
I love karcher I started with the smallest and went up the ranks to the k4 full control. We have the big carpet cleaner aslo. The problem I've seen in the past 3 models of pressure washer is the same part failing minus 1 where the whole manifold had 3 hairline cracks . Only Gets used for 2 cars every Sat/sun so not over used kept in heated garage. The carpet washer was £500 at the time and the rubber hose that pumps water to the sprayer split and nearly ruined our carpet. This seems to also be a common failure point looking on forums. Fantastic machines across the whole range but need to make the failure point from aluminium like the elbow in this video on the pressure washers and more rubbery flexible hoses on the carpet range. Thanks for the video bud
Great video, many thanks. My K4 has just started leaking on first use of an aftermarket hose and short trigger gun. I'm guessing it's the same issue. 👍
Great video, really helpful! Will be sure to follow this when fixing my K4 this weekend 👌🏼 Have you got a link for the blue extension hose? And the nozzle on your gun?
The extension hose is amzn.to/49hilzc The trigger gun is an mjjc one, mjjc.com/collections/high-pressure-washer-guns-and-nozzles?srsltid=AfmBOooAX4z9cz1BLK6smSLN1_H4Fn8lsWrK4r5KQ0qjJlrh_qwUk3HC Come with a few variants 👌👌
Hey Man, you've done a great job here. I know a lot of people including me having the same problem. Official repair cost 180,-- Euro. I'am disappointed about Kaercher Quality which seems to be no longer Made in Germany. I've put my K4 into the garbage/recycling and for sure Kaercher is no longer my favourite. There are other vendors which are doing much more better, but for a higher price and better quality instead of using cheap plastic materials. Take care. Martin
Yes absolutely correct my father has only used his a few times and now having the same problem with the cheap plastic components it's leaking in 2 places we just stripped it down but my father is fed up with this Karcher pressure washer I want to fix it but maybe Worth getting a different brand do you know of any other better Ones
If you’ve not got any water resistant grease you can also some Vaseline. It’s also water resistant and provides lubrication on seals and is safe on plastics
Looks like Screwix has it for GBP 5.86 Must be a common thing if the stock it. Im going to give it a go because after watching your video im 99% sure I have the same problem. Thanks!
Have to see what part, that bit?? www.spares2you.co.uk/karcher-k3-k4-pressure-washer-control-head/?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwouexBhAuEiwAtW_Zx-iFx8nXCi726rUEGuOEjV7Y0egeyWY_Cx_GXyUvtPPQAodvzZ-b_RoCh00QAvD_BwE
Mine has an internal leak, no doubt it'll be the same part, which begs the question, is this by design from karcher? I'll be stripping my K4 either today or tomorrow. One thing I do know is, my next pressure washer won't be Karcher... Probably Ava as they seem to be taking the game seriously and listening to customer feedback
I've had mine for a while and have abused it, so I don't mind a small repair every few years if it keeps it going, I've seen the ava ones, abbit too pricey for me to get atm, but I'd love to try one 😂
I didn't expect the motor to just fall out of my karcher k4 either. It fell straight onto the on/off lever snapping it inside the electric box, made a fairly simple job twice has hard. So just be careful folks.
Just got one of these and has same problem so ordering part and I reckon 16 min 24 sec and I'll have it stripped and put back together. 😁 Or 2 hours 12
Also the first u pin you need to pull just look on the opposite side of the pin you will see 2 holes where the legs of the pin is sticking out. Just poke this and the pin pushes out enough to get a grip of it✌️

No worries, tbf. the pipe is less than £10 online if you need it??
@@charlieschannel4192 just grabbed it off Amazon about £7 😎

It might aswell have been welded in, it was that tight 😂

Thanks for this video. Sorted my own K4 and saved a lot of money in the process.
Thank you for the video, had exact same problem and followed your guidance to the letter. All working now! Much appreciated.

Hi mate great video.
Can i ask where you got the stubby extension on the end of the lance from please.
Do you mean the short tip pressure washer adapters??
Will try that. Hopefully I will be strong enough to pull that thing off!

3:30 would you have the details of where to buy the small pry bar? Cant find them online anywhere
It's called a pick set, I'm using a snap on one, but loads of other brands make them, amazon have a few 👌
Thanks for keeping the struggle in. Silicone spray worked wonders.
Is there anyway I can send you a "tip" or whatever because your video has just saved me a few hundred quid! Thankyou so much for this!
best comment I've had 😂

@@charlieschannel4192 Just to add, I've managed to fix it so many thanks for your video. Hopefully the aftermarket hose doesn't blow it again!

@andrewevenden5775 I am currently using a titan 140 bar washer, I have a review of it on my channel, if you want to check it out? 👌

Just picked up a K4.. Have my doubts now!!
Nah you'll be fine, I've had mine for many years, and it's been abused 😂
Recently lost my K2.. Failed in much the same way. May well get it back up and running, looks like a fairly straightforward fix 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Fingers crossed 🤞 good luck 🤞👌
@@charlieschannel4192 Thank you 👍🏽

Make sure you clear all water out it drain it right off as I’m sure that’s what done mine over the winter
I just cut the elbow off with a junior hacksaw after struggling like you to pull it off
Would have been allot quicker 😂

Well done great video, hopefully I have the same problem and can fix mine as good as you, thanks. 👍👏👏👏👏👍

It would be easier to lay the machine down on its front - yellow casing down and then take the screws out.
Probably would be 😂

Left full of water during the winter, froze and cracked!!!
You made a dogs dinner of that, before you take cover off twist off the rear plastic water connector.
