This is a hard one for me. I am a black man. Was a worker on the Indy circuit for over 20 years. Tracy Smothers was a dear friend. Tracy opened doors for me that I never would have been able to. I guess perspective is everything. I have been on shows with Tracy and Bobo Brazil Jr. together and they always got along. Ive never walked into a room and Tracy got quiet, never heard him say anything racially derogatory. I even saw Tracy check Ricky Morton’s racist ass more than once. So although I respect Tony for his opinions. He was the first one to say that he didn’t know Tracy, so please let’s respect a good man who recently lost his life. I can fully agree with you Bishop! My experience with Tracy is very much the same as yours. He was always friendly, gracious and helpful to all of the boys Black white and otherwise. If you know Tracy, you know how he would {if working a guy he didn't know} ask who trained them several times if he didn't know them. I had a guy on the card that was bothered after the second time Tracy asked him and since I had worked Tracy many times and known him for a while I said to tell Tracy that I had been working with him for the last few months to round his work out. When Tracy asked him the 3rd time who has trained him he did as I told him, Tracy said "Oh you worked with him?" "Okay you're good." They had a good match and became friends also. Think about this from a historical perspective, What movies or TV shows have they had in the past that depicted black families in a positive light? Good Times, The Jeffersons, Cosby show.....and then think about the fact that 90% of entertainment are white actors. Think about this from a historical perspective, What movies or TV shows have they had in the past that depicted black families in a positive light? Good Times, The Jeffersons, Cosby show.....and then think about the fact that 90% of entertainment are white actors.
