VARIG airlines used to still fly the Super Constellation then, this was the last technical stop on the way to Idlewild, NYC, now JFK.

Piarco Airport is actually in Piarco which is about 15km from Port of Spain. I know however it is customary for people to say "Piarco International Airport, Port of Spain". It's just becuase Port of Spain is our largest city.

As beautiful as is seen from the air, I hope people realize that area is part of a flood plain. So when doing any development, the infrastructure should in include areas to retain excess water when rain falls. TT is just 10 degrees north of the equator. So lots of rain
