I was here at this airport on August 18, 1961, was 11 years old, immigrating from Brazil to USA with my family. I remember this is where I had my first Pepsi Cola, it seems we had all colas in Brazil, except Pepsi. VARIG airlines used to still fly the Super Constellation then, this was the last technical stop on the way to Idlewild, NYC, now JFK.
Piarco Airport is actually in Piarco which is about 15km from Port of Spain. I know however it is customary for people to say "Piarco International Airport, Port of Spain". It's just becuase Port of Spain is our largest city.

As beautiful as is seen from the air, I hope people realize that area is part of a flood plain. So when doing any development, the infrastructure should in include areas to retain excess water when rain falls. TT is just 10 degrees north of the equator. So lots of rain

left Trini in 1974 and haven't been back; will probably need a tour guide to find my way around with all the changes
