    If the fruit is going bad I like to buy in bulk and freeze it for smoothies. Beats paying almost 10 dollars for a bag of frozen fruit at the regular grocery store.

    I'm glad I found your channel (and subscribed)--you have to be close to the West Coast, and one of few who can post videos about the 99. My shopping there has drastically decreased as their prices and quality have changed. I do still like their garden things every year but food items are no longer as attractive as they once were unless it's something they have for a limited time. In my Southern CA area I have access to resources for produce to pick out (not already bagged) at lower prices). But I do stop by once in a while and sometimes get really good deals on things in cans or jars but check dates carefully.

    What's the catch is that food near its Expiration date! I've never been in a .99 cents store but how could they have all those name brands for that cheap.

    • @lela2216
      @lela2216 6 лет назад +2

      Yes it's near or at expiration date. But if you can freeze it it'll keep longer until ready for use.

    • @ambersykora352
      @ambersykora352 5 лет назад

      the reality is that an expiration date is just an estimate. we waste billions of dollars of food on a daily basis throwing things away which are supposed to be bad but they arent. I'm so happy they're closing the gap on it. personally, I love going to the grocery store HEB here in texas, they mark so many things down to get rid of them to make room for new shipments and produce and nothing is wrong with them. they bag them and tag them and mark them down. you can organic meals for your whole family for like 79 cents. I don't care what the date is on something....really you should only buy what you need to feed yourself or your family for the next day, we wouldn't waste and throw away nearly so much food.

    Will be traveling with a senior group that will absolutely NOT eat fast-food. They are going to Vegas to gamble (but are staying in an airbnb rental property). This the ladies are on a fixed income-does this store accept EBT/Snap benefits? They would like to eat home cooked meals for breakfast and dinner.

      @BK-dj3pi 6 лет назад

      Dorie & Jose Mendoza I've been to one in Modesto, CA on Hatch Rd. They have some wine and beers. I think they barely started carrying them. You just have to pay attention to the price on the shelf though. Some may be 99 cents and others may be more. The alcohol section there is not too big either.
