I've been using Kitoko's Current gloves unique, it's a great alternative to Call of the Brotherhood. Enemies get almost instantly electrocuted and can't do anything to you.
3:24 three dragons is also a good replacement for call of the brotherhood, and you don't have to start scaling cold damage either. And if you put ball lighting plus lightning warp in for bosses you can still shock with the ground from warp and annihilate the bosses with a cast on freeze lightning conduit
I tried stormweaver as my first character using sparks for crowd clear and ark for single target. My problem with her is gameplay. To do normal damage u need to stand still and cast several spells (e.g. mana tempest + orb of storms + sparks), but standing still in act boss fights is a suicide if u aren't oneshoting bosses, but oneshoting bosses requires very expensive gear. I decided to try ranger and then come back to my stormweaver later. Leveling you second characters seems way easier than the first due to having more experience and currency.
You really dont need to stand still, you can always quickly re-cast both ground based buffs if it's really needed and the movement inside the circles is often enough to dodge anything, except maybe annoying ultimatum debuffs - you could also slap increased aoe on orb

Yeah unfortunately poe is designed around trade. SSF will always feel like absolute trash because the game just isn't designed with the intention to be played to progress. PoE2 is especially egregious with that due to the removal of the crafting bench and other gambling currency Hopefully GGG realizes this is a HUGE mistake for poe2 and they design the game around SSF instead of trade
@@TheCosmicAstro- Poe 1 absolutely doesn't feel like trash, because there's tons of ways to farm and craft what you need. only tier 1 uniques are unobtainable (unless you play 15+ hours a day) but they are not needs anyway to make builds work. Poe 2 will get there in time, but I wouldn't mind a last epoch style ssf

I was going spark as chronomancer at EA start and it's just so terrible compared to stormweaver it's depressing. Offense is WAY stronger than defense right now with how busted these builds are even baseline with the right ascendancies etc. EDIT: also cheapest call of the brotherhood right now is 8ex as of 12/25/2024 at 11:45 GMT
Shock is OP right now which is why every lightning skill is playable in the game. A 20% damage buff is way better than what any other ailment can do in the game. Knowing GGG they will probably just nerf shock instead of buffing other things. Literally every lightning skill in the game feels good.
Considering freeze and chill have been breaking the game since release, stun perma ccs bosses, and shock can be used by any build with a weapon swap - I don't think shock is going to get any nerf. -skryah
I'm enjoying my ball lightning, lightning warp, lightning conduit build. I swapped from a spark build and it seems to be more damage for me and importantly more fun.
Campaign is poe2 using poe2 builds but maps require poe1 style builds to get through them. This build will surely get nerfed to line up with the poe2 vision but the end game needs to change to match the nerfed builds.
It's weird, campaign feels like a different game. I think making monsters hit for less, removing the spikey damage, and then making them live longer (especially bosses) would bring some of that thick campaign combat back. Things die too fast and they also kill you too fast... campaign feels better balanced in terms of the action combat they clearly wanted you to play with, way more room for gameplay expression than the "kill or be killed" pace of endgame.
@@steel5897 I don’t even see how people are enjoying this spark stuff. Everyone’s doing the same thing. Ugh I guess I was just hoping for more diversity but it boils down to “Can you stack energy shield?” Or “can you completely invalidate the bosses?” But we’ll see how everything shapes up in the end.
@@anthonylowe8819 Its because spark is by far the best. After they killed comet build, everyone just kinda gravitated towards lightning builds. Fire mage isn't that great. Spark is also extremely easy to play, don't need crazy gear, don't even need to aim....just look in the general direction and hoards/bosses get melted. Scales extremely well with archmage, lightning conduit does disgusting damage. I hope GGG sticks to what they said in the lead up to release, they said something like they don't wanna constantly nerf things and would rather buff other builds so they are more fun and can compete with current metas. I understand the hard nerf with COF comet (although I would've preferred a 'Nerf' instead of a 'Nuke') because it was broken and could be attained super early into the game with minimal resources. I do unfortunately see a nerf to Archmage/Lightning conduit coming down the line though, hopefully they just lower the percentages abit instead of straight killing them but we will see.
I'm so upset, first they nerfed cast on freeze into the ground, so I spent all my time and currency these past few weeks slowly working towards Lance's version of this build. I have only just recently gotten to the point I'm starting to feel good about my character, now I'll get to enjoy it for maybe a week before they nerf it into the ground as well. I feel like jungroan if he was broke, ugly, and shit at the game.

It doesn’t double dip tho. It just looks at your base damage with X to gain Y extra. If fireball has 100 base and ends up with 1000 due to increased fire damage. Archmage at 5 per 100 mana, given 700 mana, will gain as extra only 35 lightning damage!! Now same scenario with one difference, if fireball does 1000 due to increases to elemental damage, well the base damage is the same, it just so happens that the gained portion, lightning damage a subset of elemental! As far as I can tell, only one pool of additives is ever being used and “mores” are exclusive. “More fire damage” wouldn’t increase the archmage portion of your damage.
@@TRU3OGR3 yeah, I've got no problems with archmage yet. My concern is with Everlasting Gaze somehow giving you ES on EB builds. Ghostwrithe tripling your shield while having 1 hp CI somehow. And such..

This! kitokos is a great alternative for freeze. and it's cheap af

Proj speed. Also makes them go further sp theyll bounce more. If mana can handle it proj/cast speed are the backbone of spark builds
If you still want your lightning damage to freeze in the end game with Archmage you can go 3 dragons

ball lightning in to lightning warp is really good too, just make sure you get a ton of cast speed so the combo is faster

Press escape when you get the lag spikes and wait till its over. Works for me the best
