- Adult flanged male orangutan, Niko, produces a "fast long call" vocalization. This call signals disturbance and is often made by flanged males in response to human observers, usually when they are on or near the ground.

That kissy sound u hear is he saying go away he’s vocalizing to u to try and get u to leave his territory what beautiful animals
@Warslave And look how they don't respect his request, not moving away and maintain the same distance all the while pointing camera in his face.
@@o0sunsi0o uh yeah...how did you think the video was made?
@@o0sunsi0o hiyf78fug8u
@@o0sunsi0o honestly, i think sudden movements might cause the animal to panick. Usually best to stay still and not make eye contact when approached by a simian
@@idlehawk9553 especially gorillas, gorillas hate eye contact
Shows you how peaceful orangutans really are he coulda charged all that way up to them but he didn’t he warned them from afar, such a gentle beast
This is basically him saying "piss off" in rapid succession.
Hi Savox. cool seeing you in this comment section.
"How many times do I have to explain this..."
Just tickled to death when he looked around trying to find the source of the bird call. Watching his eyes look around the tree tops with such curiosity.
Looks like he had a good snack

ate the booty like groceries

Their voice sound almost human.
When You Consider The Fact That Us Humans Share Approximately 90 Percent DNA With Orangutans Your Almost Human Statement Is Not Wrong
They share 97% of our DNA
@@lindsayshockledge579 more recent studies show chimps and bonobos are closer to us than orangutans, but not by much. Still so fascinating to think
@JeffWilson you can certainly get where they're coming when you take the physical similarities between chimps/bonobo's into consideration!! I think we should be flattered by the comparison, taking into account how intelligent most primate species are!!
@@lindsayshockledge579 you are correct! Studying their social skills and interactions, is easy to see where we get it from. Incredible too how they use simple tools to get food
How anybody could kill these beautiful animals is beyond me... just hearing him talk reminds you of how close and similar we truly are.
Orangutans are the best great apes, oh how I hate chimpanzees and their war like tendencies, the orangutans are a prime example on how the right ape is made
They’re quite peaceful too
They raid people’s crops and also attack humans
@@FragMeAndTagMe They dont attack people unprovoked...
He's like, yeah come closer and let's see what happens bub
Well, while most people find this to be a cute occasion thats some sort of a sign of affection thats somewhat similar to the human kissy signs, by this common characteristic "lip-smacking/ kissy-lips" sounding call. However, here in the case of the male Orangutan, this very same behavior that is soo commonly misconstrued by humans for affection or some sort of "Orangutan-Human" flirtatious mouth call, it quite actually means just very opposite... As in, this is actually how a male Orangutan tells not only human trespassers/ threatening humans, but also other male Orangutans that, "This is my territory you are in now and I want you to turn tail and leave NOW..... Aaaaaand if you don't leave, I WILL take this to the next leave, then I'm just gonna have to MAKE YOU LEAVE!!!!"....... Nah 'm sayin' folks or do I need to spell it out in Crayon like usual?!???🤔🧐
That is so awesome! I'm looking forward to when I can research apes like these someday.
orangutans are people
We’re all animals

Sounds like Bigfoot
I mean there's a theory that bigfoot is a gigantopithicus which is a relative of the orangutan.

I've noticed these creatures sound nothing like Sasquatch! I mean, if Bigfoot is Gigantopithecus, which is related to Orangutans, then shouldn't they sound like Orangutans?
We are related to monkeys but we sound different
@@metalfingerz4203
Are you saying we're more closely related to monkeys than Sasquatch and Orangutans are?
How do you know what Bigfoot sounds like?
Also, some closely related animals can sound very different, just compare a lion with a leopard.
@@ernovincze2900
"How do you know what Bigfoot sounds like?" Are you kidding? Just look up the dozens of so-called audio recordings!
Also, lions and leopards? I find your argument intriguing, since ppl like to compare Bigfoot to chimps when it comes to behavior. But, I guess they can act alike, just not sound alike, right?
Hi there! Is it possible to license this sound for a video? Thank you.

That animal is dangerous
NOT More Dangerous Than Ur Kind!!!
Every single wild animal capable of hurting a person is dangerous. Also, the orangutan is literally asking them to go away

Anti orangutan propaganda
Hey, orangutans despite their capabilities of ripping our body apart, are actually more peacekeeping than you think compared to the other apes like Chimps. Even after getting his territory threatened like that he still didn't go charging at the cameraman but warned him to get away. Dude's dangerous but also compassionate. It's us humans who don't give a shit to other species but ourselves.
