CTR commented on the TikTok video that many of his vides have between 9-11 RPM... not typical but good for him, truly. Just wanted to put that out there
Hey Brian hope youve been good! Enjoy watching you & CTR from time to time but just want to add for transparency sake that if Ryan averaged less views his RPM would be lower.. Advertisers pay more for more "Valuable" ads and the fact that Ryan clears 15k views on just about every video means his RPM is naturally higher bc he reaches a larger audience than you & I for example.. Advertisers want to pay more & will compete more for ads on more popular RUclipsrs bc they know they reach a wider audience on average! Just pointing out that if he averaged like 4-5k views like I do his RPM would be alot closer to mine (which for the record is $5.30 long form/ $0.19 on shorts).. So reach def plays a huge part and RPM is not universal across all Poketubers. Also, dont let Brian fool you.. He cares about Y'all more than he wants to let on ;).. Giving all this info & transparency for 100% FREE.. A TRUE Capitalist would put this behind a pay wall/ Patreon and make us pay for this type of info.. You know I do what I do for pure enjoyment of the Hobby but I understand many dont look at it that way but I respect all the different aspects within the Pokemon community and I like to learn about everything so thank you again for the transparency.. Keep being you fam! ✌🔥

Oh no people are gonna figure out how ad rev rich I am now. I figured youd mention it but many channels have memberships as well. I only do 99 cents for some emojis but its like 50 to 100 bucks a month nearly as much as my actual ad revenue. One way you can find out roughly how many members someone has is by how many custom emojis they have. You unlock slots the more members you get. You can find a chart. Some people with massive memberships never add more to utilize the unlocked slots. I remember back when I learned this I did an emoji count on some channels and their numbers were wild. Mind you its peak members theyve ever had maybe not active members.
I really appreciate the transparency here. This really helps put things into perspective especially as someone with a small channel always feeling like I need to keep up. As always thanks for the vid man!
Basically PokeRev sells the booster packs for an individual market price that makes sense to open the box and live streams it, during the live stream not only is he already in profit before it even starts, he is getting money from donations and ads on top of already being in profit from selling out the box. It’s hard to find a single buyer for a $25,000 box but not if 36 or less people pool money together to make it happen.
I see an RPM of $15-$19 Australian $$$ - all be it a much smaller channel. Even with this higher RPM I lose plenty of $$$ every opening. Sharing for science, appreciate the video mate.

Interesting! I started this project on September 2024. I have invested $12k until now, $10k in Pokemon products and $2k in hardware/software. I drafted a project for a 12 months period, where I visualized the channel to be profitable to at least maintain it. I have a full time job, so I will continue working. I know that it might take years to make more money than the expenses that Pokemon generates to me. After the 1 year term, my next goal is selling stuff on my own website, start selling spots for pack openings and so on. Any mention of the person name will get some to go see what the person is about. It is the oldest way to get views. Start a small beef that means nothing and watch 100 plus come see what's up.
I feel the understatement here is going to be: If you open packs on camera and make it public for people to consume. You're creating more consumers, and in return making your cards gain value. I do think that's how/why some prices got insanely high on singles, slabbed or not.
Coming from an adjacent community, it's really interesting seeing your perspective and similarities. I hope to get to a comfortable level of talking with minimal scripting one day for recorded videos!
to be honest i bought yotube premium to be able to also listen your videos while at work for the times i cant watch the video but at least i can listen too now, since i havent seen anything new on your spotify lately, before getting youtube premium i was repeatedly listening to your spotify episodes i think ive listened to each episode about 4-5 times each there haha even the hour long ones
you showed me its actually easier to start and make money on a channel. worst case scenario i get cheap packs or break even. sounds like a deal to me.. im spending the money to open packs anyways
I saw a progressive insurance ad. Fascinating video thoroughly enjoyed it. Can you expand upon the RPM versus how long a video is up? Are you likely to see lower RPM on videos as they get older, and maybe less watched? How does video length play into any of these variables, and do comments or viewer interactions have any effect?
I’m curious about the long term effects of channel growth - if you build up a sub count from 10k to 100k surely a portion of the audience is going back and watching old videos, and the growing library of content combined with brand new videos at higher view counts could (should?) create exponential growth in ad revenue over the long term.
Hey brian i think this was good i do watch u n ctr idk the lore but yeah just showing ppl the realism of the hobbie is how to do it. Great vid man keep it up
Looks like Rev does pretty well with his average viewer count and daily uploads. Leonhart has a similar view count but only uploads like twice per week.
I believe that Rev transforms his vintage sales on to videos , so may be there is not much of a loss for him since he is selling those vintage packs 🤷🏻♂️
Don’t forget they also have to pay there video editors but yah the ad revenue is just a portion that helps with income when you counter in the rip and ships the likes subscription count plus getting cards graded that’s thousands of $ more in total
The thing to also remember is the waterfall effect of views. Each video, each month, is generating you income. With enough videos all getting trickles of views, it can very much be the equivaent of putting out a new video each day even if you aren't. Do u find it hard to scale the channel since you aren't focusing just one aspect? IE. If you only talked pokemon and opened packs would the channel grow faster and ultimately you'd make more money? Not that thats your aim per se.
I actually thought that they bought expensive product as a tax write off. RUclips generates them money so they have to declare it as income on their taxes so if you purchase an expensive product to open it on RUclips you can surely add it as an expense tor your taxes
Yep, the Rudy model is the only way you make money cracking cards on RUclips. Let some other dude pay for a box that you get to open on your channel, and if you're really smart like Rudy, you'd only allow your Patreon subscribers to do this.

Fascinating video thoroughly enjoyed it. Can you expand upon the RPM versus how long a video is up? Are you likely to see lower RPM on videos as they get older, and maybe less watched? How does video length play into any of these variables, and do comments or viewer interactions have any effect?
I got a Tonal ad before the video. The algo can see your gains.
The king of transparency!
I’m curious about the long term effects of channel growth - if you build up a sub count from 10k to 100k surely a portion of the audience is going back and watching old videos, and the growing library of content combined with brand new videos at higher view counts could (should?) create exponential growth in ad revenue over the long term.
As long as the content keeps people coming back and keeps them on the video
Any recommendations for the best way to track finances, purchase prices, sold prices, profits/loses?
You don't sell your product anymore with social media, you sell yourself and the sales will follow.
FACTS
Don't forget tax deductions. You can claim any money spent on a yt video as a deduction.
YT Premium for life. I haven’t seen an ad in a very long time. Congratulations on your success!
Me either lol
Brave app, no adds
Ad free is the way to be!
I forget other ppl have ads till i use a weirdos phone or someone shows me somthing
I hear you I haven't watched a ad in years
All my ads were for predatory credit cards 😬
Also they can write off the Pokémon cards as an expenses when filing taxes which helps a little
Good video bro I watched it on insta but imma let it play again for the watch time 🤞🏽
Hey brian i think this was good i do watch u n ctr idk the lore but yeah just showing ppl the realism of the hobbie is how to do it. Great vid man keep it up
Love this. Thanks for sharing!
I saw Wawa add followed by Kyle hill Colgate commercial.
And don't forget live streaming donations. The point of these channels is to cultivate a reliable dedicated fan base that will rain $5 on them
Your videos usually have a Pokémon Go ad when I watch them 😂
Looks like Rev does pretty well with his average viewer count and daily uploads. Leonhart has a similar view count but only uploads like twice per week.
I like how you couldn't even say "should I open it? Or should I keep it sealed?" Without almost singing it😅
Do you have to meet the requirements before you can monetize your videos
I believe that Rev transforms his vintage sales on to videos , so may be there is not much of a loss for him since he is selling those vintage packs 🤷🏻♂️
Thank you PokeNE ! I Was about to comitt a crime. Thanks to you it wont happen. Im gonna focus on my website and company !
Don’t forget they also have to pay there video editors but yah the ad revenue is just a portion that helps with income when you counter in the rip and ships the likes subscription count plus getting cards graded that’s thousands of $ more in total
Great information! Do some of the RUclipsrs just starting out (
To me artificial growth doesn’t seem like a sustainable thing, that would be a short-sighted play for sure
That makes sense. If you have 1000 subscribers but not getting 1000 views you’re not making that whole $4.
Who watches ads nowadays anyway lol. RUclips premium goat
I’m here for my .5 of a penny for watching your video and adds 🎉
Excellent information on the business side of this world.
Great video on the business of youtube.
I got a pikachu sar in chinese and i dont know where i can check the price for it
You forgot to mention the TPM tits per milli. You can know nothing about pokemon and open packs with bombs and make 4x minimum 😂
I keep getting this loud, obnoxious TCG player ad
The ad i got for this video was Pokemon TCG pocket ad
I actually thought that they bought expensive product as a tax write off.
RUclips generates them money so they have to declare it as income on their taxes so if you purchase an expensive product to open it on RUclips you can surely add it as an expense tor your taxes
Great video man!
Great information as always Brian, you probably just saved a lot of people some money opening packs to get famous 😅
Yep, the Rudy model is the only way you make money cracking cards on RUclips. Let some other dude pay for a box that you get to open on your channel, and if you're really smart like Rudy, you'd only allow your Patreon subscribers to do this.
My ads were Chic fil a and Samsung! I never eat Chic Fil a
