I personally love both
2003 will always be my favorite of the two bc I watched it first, i prefer its artstyle, and i really appreciate its darker and more existential themes (even if the ending was kinda off the rails and ridiculous in the worst of ways) but Brotherhood i think is objectively the better show and undeniably has the better conclusion. Its also just more hopeful and uplifting in alot of ways.
Honestly i dont see the point in writing one of them off in favor of the other tho, theyre both amazing takes on the same incredible story that take different paths and excel in different areas. Any self respecting anime fan is really cheating themselves if they decide not to watch both

I feel bad that this song didn't leave an impression on me since I grew up hearing ready steady go when FMA aired on adult swim so many years ago.
I loved this song so much. When I went to Otakon 2004 and they "debuted" the official release of Fullmetal Alchemist in the US, I was heartbroken that they decided not to buy the rights to the real first opening and instead just doubled up on Ready, Steady, Go. And while I like Ready, Steady, Go (and L'arc-en-Ciel, who performed it at Otakon 2004 live and I got to meet them), I wanted both!

I didn't hear this on my first viewing either because I watched it in Adult Swim too, but it's still nostalgic to me because I had looked it up. It's really a shame they didn't bother to use this opening, I prefer it heavily to Ready Steady Go.

I've been following this channel for at least 5 or 6 years now and I honestly think this is one of the best, if not the best video I've seen so far. I enjoyed it so much and I was so mesmerized that before I knew it it was over. 2021 is looking bright.

I hope you all enjoy both the series as much as I have. Brotherhood is more action packed and comedy oriented. The original is more thought provoking and will bring you a great deal of depression with a side of action, has an action packed movie to finish the series of though. You’ll find some storylines similar but the original explores those certain moments more closely instead of taking one episode to resolve them like brotherhood does. Enjoy the hill out of it guys

Okay, so I've watched all the FMA covers, and I have to say the artwork in this one and Hologram are my favorites. Though there is one thing that now that I've noticed it I can't un-notice it. In the shot where she's brushing her hair and looking at the photo, the automail is on the wrong arm. Since the artwork is a mirror reflection, the arm we are able to see should be the automail one, not the (for lack of a better phrase) flesh one.
Again, the artwork and music on this is beautiful. I do really like the color contrast between Ed's red/gold and Amalee's blue/silver. It is very striking when they're together.

FMA03... Overly edgy sometimes, but the overall tone and character/plot development were great.
I just wish the ending was happy rather than bittersweet
Not everything has to have a happy ending and it didn't make sense for 2003. Just watch Brotherhood if you want a happy FMA with a happy ending.

they turn up in a world without alchemy then the series ends so I turn to FMAB and its ed and al with there bodys back (for the most part) in exchange for eds gate
The point is that its bittersweet
I remember when I first watched FMA 03 about 15 years ago... (so long!) I liked it quite a bit but I absoloutly hated the ending. However, that was somewhat of a blessing in disguise as it brought me to the manga in search of a more satisfying ending for the characters' journey. The manga quickly became one of my all time favourite pieces of fiction, a status it still holds to this day so many years later. It's unfortunate that neither anime does it justice (in my opinion)!
