I have nothing to do with VSDB. Never been there. I have never been a student. Yet, I agree with you. Time will change, whether we want it or not. The best action? Accept and adapt.

We changed to Mustangs from Silents in 1970’s. Mostly student voted the mascot. No alumni’s involvement. Worked well for everyone.

Very fascinating! Truly enjoyed the history of VSDB and mascots. Completely agree with you. It doesn't make any sense to have two mascots when they should be one, as in one team. Any school all over the country only have one. Shame on alumni, though.

All spot on!! My high school mascot changed. I don’t like the new one but I am ok with that. I don’t see a shrink for that.

Did u heard about WVSDB? They change thier color and mascot for similar reason bec of now blind and deaf blend in to one, old deaf mascot was lion (male) and blind was knight and now new color and mascot is black bear. At first I was kind disappointed for change but after while I accepted and move on I'm not there anymore so you right I can't complain it IS not my school anymore.

I disagree, I see many Cardinals in my backyard, as a former cheerleader, it's hard to imagine a new mascot, Kraken, reminds me of the movie, Pirates of the Caribbean, still I have the right to disagree, Pat Trice has to go.

You're not a student at VSDB any longer. You don't have any investment in VSDB. You're not a stakeholder of VSDB. VSDB has gone through the renovations and built new buildings. It is time for a new mascot change. For a long time, we had been oppressive towards the Blind Department's mascot by not including them on campus from the gym floor to pep rallies to Strader Hall wall and so on. The division between these two has to go. It is time for one mascot to happen. Not only that, the red-black Cardinals is male itself, where is the female Cardinals which is black-brown? Why reject female Cardinals in favor of male Cardinals?
