    Do Specifications equate to better sound?

    But if you like the Luxman type sound, you can't get that from Accuphase.

    Both of these brands are too expensive in the US compared to Japan! The price for accuphase is over the top and not worth it! Both companies do make beautiful high-quality products!

    I had the Luxman 505z for a month before getting the Accuphase E4000. At first the Luxman sounded horrible but after about 40 hours run in it sounded a lot better. I found the Luxman had more bass, or maybe the bass was just a bit boomy at times. The upper mids were a bit forward for my liking but ok for instrumental or jazz, not so great for vocals. The VU meters were way too bright and had to be turned off at night or they would light up like a lighthouse.
    The E4000 is beautiful in every way.

      @@JNElectrics Since in the US they are priced exactly the same and now that it is available do you think you might do that comparison; if it is not available to you to test given the new specs, which to my eye do not appear to be so different, intuitively do you think the E-4000 would win again? Is there a chance you will be reviewing the Mark Levinson 585.5 integrated with phono perhaps against the E-800?

      @mahasidha9 Год назад

      @@JNElectrics I just remembered Esoteric has released the F-02 integrated with built in phono to replace the F-05 which had been on the market for 6 years; also priced the same as the Luxman L 509Z and the Accuphase E-4000; it would be amazing and wonderful if you did all 3 at the same time, then, at the end, you could rank them first place second place and third place

    Bueno, antes de salir este video, yo ya habia comprado el E4000. Es una joya insuperable. El gran inconveniente, para mucha gente, es el alto precio; a mi me parece desmesurado, pero no hay otra: o lo cojes, o lo dejas. Yo hice un serio esfuerzo, pero merece muy mucho la pena. Ahora me siento un privilegiado por tener esa suerte. Saludos.

    Absolutely outstanding production quality; Hollywood beware!
    Both great amps, but... 45% MSRP (relative to Japan) increase in the USA/CANADA markets makes me look elsewhere.

    The external dimensions is a joke at best. Not that Accuphase isn’t bigger but that it receives a check for that as if it could be considered a winning rating. Are they saying a bigger size unit is better? And when is it no longer a good thing? If the receiver is the size of a small automobile does it still win? It certainly would be bigger.

    I have never heard such stupid arguments to determine if one is better than the other (weights, dimensions, electricity consumption etc...). Sound is the most critical factor when you want to select an amplifier. An excellent amplifier delivers excellent sound. This should be your primary deciding element, so you will need to listen carefully before your purchase.

    Comparing Luxman to Accuphase itself is a huge disgrace and humiliation to Accuphase lol Luxman is a Chinese company and Accuphase is 100% Japanese. Strict parts and highest sound reproduction expectations. Luxman is just some commercial amplifiers you can find in the same category as Marantz or Denon. I would strongly recommend Denon PMA-SX11 or PMA-A110 if you need it with tone controls at only a fraction of the price In Japan, Accuphase is for serious audio enthusiasts and Luxman is for rich beginners that are clueless of what "audio" is all about LOL Now you know why Accuphase is more expensive.

      Luxman is a Japanese company located in Yokohama, Japan. Production also takes place in Japan. You are misinformed I guess. Marantz, Denon and Yamaha are one class below the level of Accuphase and Luxman.
