I guess since Eminem recorded SSLP and MMLP in LA he's not a Detroit artist? I guess Tyron Woodley isn't from St Louis because he trains out of Las Vegas? They never wanna let someone rep St. Louis, I guess Ezekiel Elliott is from Dallas. Smino is critically needed for St. Louis' music scene and St. Louis is important to Smino. He never stops reppin'. If it's just about the music for you then enjoy it and be happy he and Monte found each other. For St. Louis it's bigger than that. Him becoming successful is huge for a city that gets a strong look once every other decade it seems, despite being as talented as any other city out there.
Selecao_no9 don't really know why you mad...no need for all that extra shit dawg. We discussing as fans, arent we? Let's have a gealthy discussion then. I get what you're saying. I've been following Smi for years. Trust me I'm not trine take him away from St Louis. Smino himself said I grew up in St Louis, but I wanted to expand my musical depth, and also I wasn't getting enough exposure, so I moved to Chicago, and everything clicked. Thats where he met Monte. Dude toured with Mick Jenkins for like half a year. Dude's in a group with Ravyn Lenae, Jay2, and Monte Booker (who's practically helped carve smi's entire sound) - all Chicago cats. He's experimented with Saba, Jean Deaux, and a hell of a lot other Chicago artists. His music has a VERY Chicago alternative underground feel to it. I actually thought he was from Chicago before I found out he was St Louis. His entire musical discography has practically been Chicago influenced. Of course he's St Louis through and through, and reps it to the death. I hope he keeps doing that coz St Louis really need someone to stand up for em, but if people from Chicago say things like "our artists are so underrated. like Smino!"...they're not necessarily in the wrong. That's all I meant by it man
the first time I heard this when listening to the album, I thought it was part 2 of the same track. Now when I listen to it, I gotta hear them back to back.
Crazy the way he layering these verses. ’s adding so much soul, against ruff but smooth tone, shit is balancing crazy. I’m high, and i felt the need to write this. Peace. Lol.
How did he fit his flow so perfectly with the beat woooow. Some people don't like this one but I guess they aren't used to a unique beat and flow, smino got his own genre lol
Im staying at the First Baptist in jefferson city for few days while my dude gets me a house to play my video games and yell up in their without being bothered. getting mental health treatment. im meeting all kinds of people from st louis, ive been doing nothing but showing everyone your music and they f e e l it. youre a great advocate for people going thru hard times. thank you to you, jid, earthgang, dreamville, spillage village, beast coast, pro era, fbz and EVERYONE ELSE for saving my life. i was calling 988 going thru ptsd but yall have been having my back for years with the music. much love from katie, valence, RIpley, Oklahoma
Just dropped a first Reaction to his new song Father Son, Holy Smoke! I Would appreciate it for people to check it out and give it honest feedback. Peace and love
