    How heavy are you? Alpacka Europe recommends a max paddle weight of 70kg for the wolverine self bailer. Is that a statement that you can understand?

    I’m looking at this one and the gnarwhal also. It will be my first packraft ever so I only want to buy one time so I want to make sure I get the right one. I would never go stronger than a class 3 mainly class 2 prob. I like the self bailing also. Which would you recommend? Alpacka recommend me the wolverine model one. I will be so kayak camping on Colorado moving rivers class 2 rivers maybe a class 3 at most.

    • @caide
      @caide  Год назад

      They are both excellent choices. I can tell you the difference between these rafts.
      Gnarwhal:
      -more stable on whitewater
      -stable makes it a little clumsy with eddy turns
      -Self bailer can carry a lot of weight
      -Better for heavy people and for long night-over trips
      Wolverine:
      -more playful
      -can be a little bit tippy for a beginner
      -Self-bailer has a low weight limit
      So if you make more extended expeditions, you will have a lower weight limit with self bailer Wolverine. For absolute beginner, Gnarwhal is better, but when you start to get some skills, Wolverine is more playful.
      I absolutely love self bailers and I will never go back to decked rafts.

    Hi Caj I love your kayak videos. I do want one but im struggling to chose one. I am down to the Classic Llama and the Gnarwhal long. I want the knee braces as i totally understand how you become one from my old kayak days. Basically i want the Gnarwhal with a removable deck. I love the bigger bum that the Gnarwhal has for river fun. I am 50 95kg unfit ish. I will mostly be in lock/ never above level 2 river use. I am in Scotland. Would you possibly be able to make a video of the Gnarwhal vs the Classic. That would help me in my decision as much as this video has. Cheers P.S. I hope this translates ok for you.
    Hei Caj Rakastan kajakkivideoitasi. Haluan sellaisen, mutta minulla on vaikeuksia valita yksi. Olen alaspäin Classic Lama ja Gnarwhal long. Haluan polvituet, koska ymmärrän täysin, kuinka sinusta tulee sellainen vanhoista kajakkiajoistani. Periaatteessa haluan Gnarwhalin, jossa on irrotettava kansi. Rakastan isompaa pyllyä, jota Gnarwhalilla on jokien hauskanpitoon. Olen 50 95kg kelvoton. Olen enimmäkseen lukossa / koskaan tason 2 yläpuolella joen käytössä. Olen Skotlannissa. Pystyisitkö mahdollisesti tekemään videon Gnarwhal vs the Classicista. Se auttaisi minua päätöksessäni yhtä paljon kuin tämä video. Kippis

    • @caide
      @caide  2 года назад +1

      Hello. I dont have a Classic anymore, but if I get some demo rafts next year, I will definetely make some comparison video.
      Classic is still very good raft but Gnarwhal is one step further and I usually recommend that foe beginners and for people who want more stable raft. But Classic is more playful in rapids, and you had kayak experience.
      I don't know how long you are, but Gnarwhal has betters seat and whitewater rigging as backband and foor brace. Floatation is also better if you make longer trips.

    • @caide
      @caide  2 года назад +1

      Gnarwhal dont have removable deck, but I love the selfbailer options. But then you need drysuit or water proof pants.

    • @caide

    I'm curious about the size of the packcraft you bought.
    Also, please explain your height as well

    • @caide
      @caide  Год назад

      Having a little bit bigger than smaller is usually good thing.

      @@caide Thank you for your answer.

      My legs are short compared to my height, but when I checked the length of my legs while sitting, I got 99cm. I am 176cm tall. So I want to buy size M, what do you think? Please give me some advice. I'm sorry if it's rude.

    • @caide
      @caide  Год назад +1

      @@브롬톤 I think you measured it wrong. You need to sit on the floor, put you back to the wall and put some box or something to the floor and push it with your feet to match the distance from wall to you bottom of the feet. I have it about 116cm. With wolverine the Large is right size for 107-117cm. My guess is that you should fit between these measures.

    • @브롬톤
      @브롬톤 Год назад

      I checked it while sitting down again.
      It's not measured from the buttocks, but from the back, it's about 107cm. My body type has short legs (Crying)
      What size would be good?

    • @caide
      @caide  Год назад +1

      @@브롬톤 You should measure it from the wall. If it is 107cm, you are from the Large size, but it's the minimum measure. If you paddle mostly whitewater, you can take medium and it is going to work good. But if you paddle more flat water, with large size you get more relaxed fit.
