Remember new drivers you must have 7 days of history on your logs. Even if its your very first day and your using an ELD. You need to fill out a paper load and mark dates( example 5/1/23-5/7/23) for the previous 7 days and mark it "off duty".
That’s something I’ve never heard before. Where did you get that information?
@@TheBoxtruckCouple The DOT officer at the weight station I got stopped at on my very first load. He cut me a break and explained it instead of the option he had to do much worse. Everything else at the check was perfect.

@@theretrosaberguyyes that is correct because they want to know your hours for the week even if you just got your license. It’ll all be zero hours but you still gotta do it.

Installing a couple of utility boxes on either side of the frame would allow to carry blocks, oil, anti-freeze, jumper cables, toolbox etc. Good to have yourself prepared for anything, also ive been trucking well over 40 years and i always prepare a ice chest with cooked meals to keep from spending money at truck stops, many ways to cut your overhead expense and put it back in your pocket. Dont know if your local but if not, i would configure about 3-4 feet of nose space on the van body and build a sleeper area and get a generator or APU unit because sleeping in the cab or getting motels gets cramped and expensive just an idea.

A little advice when you about to connect your truck to the motive app for the start of the day. Just sign in go to your off-duty tab and hit connect to a new vehicle which will take you to unsigned logs that are not signed yet. Just a little quicker way
i was a otr box truck for a month, the guy i was working for didn't want to pay me and yell at me for using the company credit card for diesel ,you guys sound like a good company to work for
I use to drive a Ryder truck for an Appliance company, I had to teach myself how to drive on the highway and back into the dock but everyday I kept on going to work backing into the dock and driving on the highway until I perfected it lol
I started my trucking company back in 2017. Watching this video allowed me to really get some type of insight on how vital it is to grab all the knowledge you can in learning the ropes of being successful in the trucking industry. I must say “I need a mentor”😅…Congratulations to all of you! 🎉

This helped alot. Most definitely getting in this field. Tired of forklifting even though the experience can be a plus loading and unloading.
Why not just have a rearview camera in the truck roof area that can tilt downward when reversing into the load dock and have the camera tilt up towards rear traffic when driving and cameras under the truck floors pointing at each rear wheel to help guide you when going on the wheel ramps. I also have cameras inside my truck to video tape how the loaders load everything in case THEY damage the load I have proof it was not me. That is what most of us truckers have.
I don't know any cameras that have all the cameras you speak of 🤣

Do I have to have a minimum year age on my vehicle to get loads or find work?? Will I not get loads or app work if my van/truck/sprinter is too old?

Thanks for your comment. We have had our 2007 Hino boxtruck for two years. We have never had a problem getting loads. We have never been asked how old the truck is , what it looks like etc
Do the docks have the ramps for the trucks if needed?
Sometimes. This one does because they know boxtrucks wont reach the dock

Great question! If ramps are necessary to park at a dock the warehouse will provide them. They are usually sitting there at the dock waiting on you. This is the only location we have ever had to use them. Thanks again!

Are docks different height or is bandit lower then dock height
This truck is dock height but because of how the dock is positioned it requires a ramp
