This is s great tutorial. I've been refurbishing helmets for a little over a year. One thing I haven't done, is spray painted the pads. That's actually a good idea.
Jakk B. that's true for Riddell helmets. I'm glad they make it easy to distinguish between a youth and adult helmet. youth is gray adult is white. Schutt helmets are a bit harder to differentiate
You’re the king! Thanks for this video! I’m customizing some helmets for my sons. I’ve done it before, but I wanted to get fired up before I put my wing decals on because I think it’s definitely the most nerve-wracking part. You should take a little time to explain the spacing of your wings. Nice work, beautiful helmet. Fly Eagles, fly!!!!!!!
The helmets are easy and cheap to find. Its the decals that are hard and expensive to find. I can usually find sweet helmets for 5-10 bucks at swap meets. But I'd never find the decals in a million years. Cheapest you'll find a decal set is online for about 25 bucks
I wish you posted a video of the way that you lined the wings up on this helmet. A lot of the helmets that I see have the wings closer in the front so that the bottom black line of the wing doesn’t line up to the facemask bar like yours does. I prefer the way you do it , but I was wondering how you lined it up that way.
wow this is great! I'm in the process of creating my own Denver Broncos helmet. I am still looking for the NFL shield as decale, the American flag, the Green Dot. Can you recommend me a shop that sells them, and that also ships to Germany? best regards from Germany
marcus spencer Some people get really creative with this stuff. I'm a relative newbie to helmet paint etc., but I've seen a few amazing concept designs floating around.
hey bro i ve been looking to make onr. a washington skins. but i am having a problem finding the proper decals. i have looked on amzon, ebay. you lead in the right direction. by the way man yours are the best i have seen. great job
Many thanks! It's honestly tough to find the decals out of season. It might be worth messaging an eBay seller who has other sets and asking if they have the 'Skins too. Good luck!
I made a small housing out of cardboard trying to keep the area clean. 3M brand sandpaper. Starting with a lower grit, be careful around curves and edges. You'll do great.
I know I'm late on this video, but how did you find all those decals? I understand you bought them on eBay, but did you manage to buy them all together or separately?
Hey how much would you charge me per helmet if I need 19 helmets? I collect them for my man cave and try to get them sign little by little. I already have 11 helmets but missing 19. Lmk and I’ll work out a deal with you. I live in NY and if you are close to me, I can pick it up. Even help get some of the parts! Please help.
Brother, I’d love to be able to do that for you. But the truth is, I wouldn’t have enough time to put together a solid product. And I’m not that good with paint etc. The camera was kind to me on this project. But you have my ear if you need any tips for a DIY.
+kiem duong You can try calling your local parks and rec centers. Sometimes they update gear season to season and will sell their old stock. The thrift store is another option.
The cheapest full-size replica Rev helmet is $140 on the Eagles’ site. This costed about 1/3 of that. But really, the idea was that it’s something fun you can make yourself. A few of my subs made it a project with their kids.
Totally agree and was not trying to be a jerk. Would be a great project and I think it is cool what you did. Replicas can be purchased for about $85 via other approved vendors for those individuals that don't have access to a work area or the ability to get the product. Looks very cool. Did not mean to insult. Thanks.
Default So the primer is basically a layer that prepares the item to hold your paint. Without it the paint likely won't stick to the helmet for long. Thanks for watching!

Percy Pringle For me, the details really make a difference. The pros go with white pads, so I go with white pads. Thanks!
Jakk B. that's true for Riddell helmets. I'm glad they make it easy to distinguish between a youth and adult helmet.
youth is gray
adult is white.
Schutt helmets are a bit harder to differentiate
Oh cool. I honestly didn't know that about the white vs grey.
Orly Ray
Don’t ever spray the pads !!!
Orly Ray its not good to paint the pad because when you sweat it will come of
that is awesome! I will have to try and make my own Jets helmet using your tips. Thanks for the tutorial.
Thanks!

Gonna make a custom Falcons helmet with this
Awesome Job man!!! one question: What color did you you use for the helmet? I'm going to try it myself but want to make sure I get the color right.
Never mind, I saw it on your video already. Can't believe I missed it the first time.
No worries. Thanks for watching!
How much time did you wait between the primer-green paint- clear coat
Hard to see, but did the paint have the sparkle?
Awesome! I was just contemplating dropping $300 on a helmet, this is way better

May i have it?
Philly in the House. Great Job !!

Wow Im Very Suprised You Should Teach Me How To Do A Patriots Helmet
Love u bro
Yep, I’m going to try this! You are awesome, thanks!
Green Gridiron could use your talent for the restoration issue.
Loving your vids man. Awesome job with the helmet
efin_ awesome Thank you friend. That means a lot to me. I’m hoping to have some more content soon.
awesome job! questions what kind of bondo and how much did u use ? do u bondo all starches big and small? great video!
Nathan Navarro I used the Glaze & Spot Putty and tried to fill in as many spots as my patience could handle
Nathan Navarro "Bondo" is the actual brand name.
nice job. what did you use the painters tape for? did you paint over the Velcro inside the helmet?
Jim Daly, Tape was used before painting to cover the Velcro and the tabs on the pads so they'd easily fit back into place.
I’m trying this
its so perfect, great job man!!
Thanks! It took some time, but very worth it.
oh yeah it is!!!
so that's your price or just everything I definitely need one made sir
I don't think I'll be making another anytime soon. The videos are really to inspire your own design ideas. This was my toughest proj yet.
Do you use a spray booth? I'm little nervous with sand paper. what sand paper do you use.
I made a small housing out of cardboard trying to keep the area clean. 3M brand sandpaper. Starting with a lower grit, be careful around curves and edges. You'll do great.
How much did the hole helmet cost
I'm thinking it was about 60 bucks. But he used quality products. That auto spray paint makes a huge difference, huge difference
How did you take the clips off of the helmet??
How much do it cost you all the project?
How did u get the stickers ?
I know I'm late on this video, but how did you find all those decals? I understand you bought them on eBay, but did you manage to buy them all together or separately?
Two different sets. The wings came as one. The bumpers, NFL logo, warning, JJ, radio/mic, and player number decals came in another set.
+Jakk B. cool, where did you get them all? was it on eBay and do you have a link to it?
Unfortunately the seller is no longer on EBay.
Jakk B. oh no problem, I managed to get them off Amazon
How much if I buy all the stuff lol
It can be done for under $60. Things like the chinstrap and added decals are extra.
Can someone explain what is primer please?
How many layers of paint did you put in the inside of the helmet?
Two layers
Do a Broncos verison
Maybe if I find another helmet
Okay
super cool
Nyiah Hill Thanks for watching!
I did it yess
What can I do to the face mask so it's not sticky after the paint job
Sticky enamel usually means humidity in the air. Try to paint in cooler Temps and give it time between coats
Jakk B. Thanks I'll try it

Jakk Box okay but if you know of someone...lmk I’m willing to pay $100 per helmet!
@@isaaclama6042 I will do it for you
I can't find a helmet on ebay or amazon for cheap.
+kiem duong You can try calling your local parks and rec centers. Sometimes they update gear season to season and will sell their old stock. The thrift store is another option.
+Man Cave Stuff okay thx really appreciate it.
This looks great but for the cost of the helmet, paint, Bondo, sandpaper, etc., you can pay about five bucks more for a replica that is brand new.
