Seems like more transparency in any govt would be a good thing. There must be more to the bill that isn't being mentioned.
It's a EU requirement. The EU mandates your country cannot have these types of laws (I wonder why), so, these kids who want to join the EU, desperately don't want this sort of law.

NGOs from the U.S. are openly recognized in the Political Science departments of U.S. universities as arms of the U.S. foreign policy establishment. The National Endowment for Democracy and Freedom House are just two examples.

@@coldsoupwithsalt The real question Mr. Political Science should be asking is WHY does Russia agree with this law? Do Russia NGOs have to abide? What about all the other means Russia uses to influence countries? GRU, Oligraches, etc? this law simply serves to keep America out and Georgia open to Russian influence.
@@ctcole77 International influence is an imperial prerogative. Promoting values in another country for the country's "own good" is not just subjective but the self-interested actions of a very narrow segment of Americans (NGOs and their supporters, corporations, and the U.S. government).
Does Russia do this? Sure. But saying "America needs to expand its empire so other empires don't expand" is a circular justification. If America is going to be the moral judge of everyone the world over, many will not accept the ruling and some will fight to the death to reassert the status quo ante (i.e., Afghanistan).
The real question is does Georgia have the right to expel American NGOs operating in its country? If not, Georgia is an American colony, whether it likes it or not, and those who want to remove Georgia's choice in the matter are either part of those NGOs, the American government, or have oddly misplaced and ineffectual imperial ambitions.

This law, would exclude Georgia from being able to join the EU. Young people in Georgia want to join the EU.
