    Definitely worthwhile checking out his stream. I was chilling out watching a few games last night, and he plays very calmly and clearly.
    I found it much easier to learn from compared to some of the big streamers that turn their stream into an epilepsy warning every round, and fiddle with their units on the bench at 2000 clicks per second.

      @@tamura77tft Question, thought this was the easiest way.
      I remember that sunfire is anti-heal, and so is morellos.
      Last whisper is for anti-armor, giant-slayer is anti-tank.
      Ionic spark is anti-MR.
      Quick-silver is anti-cc and so is banshee's (to an extent).
      Frozen heart is anti-attack speed.
      Zephr-garbage
      With these in mind, what's the best way for mass reduced MR, Heal, and Shield?
      Ideally I would put gargoyle, sunfire and either warmogs or bramble depending what I get on my tank. If I don't have an attack speed secondary carry then I'm not sure I can use static shivv.
      Do I need an AS carry to even make use of the item? I'd much rather use that than make an ionic spark with precious precious rods

    • @Keemin
      @Keemin 3 года назад +1

      @@RussianSpy4632 I'm only a lowly sometimes-GM player but for static shiv, you want to keep in mind that it's a very strong early game item on Ezreal, Warwick, etc. If you have tear + bow at 2-1 and a decent starting board you can slam it to help you streak. Then, it can scale late game if you pivot/upgrade into AP units (think seraphine scholar for innovator start, for instance). Otherwise it's fine on AS comps like warwick reroll or Urgot, like you mentioned.
      The other, and much less common time you take shiv is when you are already committed to an AP comp and find the components to it or find it on carousel. In this case, you generally just put it on the highest cost backline unit you have besides your main carry. You should only start building shivs and sparks once your AP carry has 2 items at least though. As for whether shiv or spark is better, the answer lies in what unit you can put it on. Spark needs a durable frontline unit (or assassin) that can live for a while, while Shiv needs a backline unit that benefits from casting more frequently thanks to the attack speed. You don't really care about the base attack speed of the unit at this point because it's so late in the game.
      Also don't discount Zephyr as a trash item; especially later on it can be the difference between winning and lose 1 or 2 crucial rounds that can change your placement by a lot. You just want to make sure to wait until the round is about to start to place it on an easily sellable unit so that you guarantee the carry as the target, and can rinse and repeat by selling the unit it is on between rounds.
      Hope this helps!

    quick question bc even as a diamond player I have never ever been aware of this: when you say "a maximum of four for each item component" what do you mean by that? as in there can only be 4 tears in any given game? or you can only receive 4 in any game? what is the rule here? I've never EVER heard about this and it seems wildly important!

    • @tamura77tft
      @tamura77tft  2 года назад

    Great video mate, very thorough. Earned a subscriber!
    I had a question regarding default comps, currently my standard default/fallback is Jhin. I've also been learning AP socialite but that's way off item wise.
    Would you recommend learning Yone as a secondary default instead? The items are a bit more transferable compared to AP and both roll for 4 cost carries.
    Also, you mention trist reroll. If playing a yordle opener with trist as item holder, what would indicate I should go for trist reroll instead of playing for Jhin as planned? Something like featherweights?

    • @tamura77tft
      @tamura77tft  3 года назад +1

      Yes you can default to yone.. just don't play all challengers early game and of course watch my Yone guide. You can pivot to it over jhin easily because the units are basically the same every game.
      If you highroll trists early, so you have 5 before wolves, it's very easy to play trist. Also gives more AD to 3 star units... not RH/DB +1 makes for a good comp.
      If my yordle trait is giving me heaps of vex/poppy/ziggs.. then I can use it for econ to fast 8 instead. You don't want featherweights because you only run trist/lulu 3 star... then just push levels and play strong 4/5costs.
      You can often still 8 on 5-1 with trist reroll because of yordle econ.

Spark is a great slam too because it burns a cloak in AP boards. You only need archangel with most AP boards.. so that's only 3 rods for morello, AA and spark and with shiv, spark isn't needed.

      Combination of your items/units/augments. It's a skill that you will develop if you're actively looking for direction at all stages of the game.
      For example if you get a trist/ezreal/trundle early with an early bow item you're looking for AD immediately.
      If you get a vex/yordles start and slam spark.. you're looking to play AP.

    Great video man!
    One question, when u burned the bad item components in that especific case, dont u think it would had been better to slam gargoyle and leave spat, bow and belt? U were healthy enough to not suffer too much in mid game, ur board wasnt weak at all, u had a lot of econ so u could had probably pushed 8 at 4-5 and u could have get Braum with Gargoyle+Morello later, which I think is reaaaally strong when u want to protect Yone.
    Tell me what you think pls (obviously u know more about the game than me, im only d1, so that's why im asking)

    • @tamura77tft
      @tamura77tft  3 года назад +1

      It's not a terrible choice, but I lean away from gargoyles with yone because you front row most of your board so the value is low. On top of that you don't need the extra stats on a braum. It also gets cut with shiv/spark/LW very easily. Also keep in mind if you don't get kai'sa early sunfire>morello. And an earlier slam on sunfire gives value for a lot longer when I already have GA made (don't need another chain).
      I think your variation is a little more greedy and overvalues gargoyles. It's not a bad alternative though... there are always multiples options.

    My goal is M250Lp each set and with ur guides and my daily streaming watch time, I think its possible now!
    Thanks again.

    Great video, and a great way to make the communty understand the game more!!
    But there's something i couldn't understand, which is whenever i climb to a certain rank (d1-d2) i start a lose streak out of nowhere until i reach d4 0lp and i have to start everything from the 0, it happened 3 times so far, any explanation?!

    • @tamura77tft
      @tamura77tft  3 года назад +4

      Either bad RNG... or more than likely you're tilting after the start of a loss streak and making more mistakes... hence the snowball effect :3

    I know that strong comps this meta are kaisa/viktor/akali with 3 socialite... But I can never hit them only when I'm so low hp... Can you make a guide about how to play mid-game and get into a end-game final comp?

      Half way done with my 3 socialite fiora guide which has the potential to pivot into exactly that, it will include early/mid game boards.

    I started playing TFT aabout 5 days ago (playing all day everyday since university is over and im bored). I just reached platinum today by following your tips!
    The good front line, 4 cost bait, item components explanation and default comp tips helped a lot. Amazing video!
    One thing I figured on my own is early game carries for team comps, figuring out that twisted fat and miss fortune were insanely broken when holding my shojin & morello at stage 2/3 to transition into kaisa/malzahar mutants made my elo sky rocket. However, this wouldn't have been possible without the strong front line tip you gave, by far the most important tip in the video.
    Reading into damage calculation formulas made me realize that warmogs should never go on a colossus like chogath (in fact i understand why thornmail and dragon are so OP on colossus now).
    Very informative great video!

    If your level 6/7 and your board is somewhat stable but your not win or lose streaking, I never know to roll or fast 8 and then get lost usually and that’s when I get 7/8th

      As a general rule of thumb if you're losing more than 10Hp per round.. you're not stable.

  • @wheninromo

    You're obviously an extremely good player, and I'm sure you know what you're talking about, but I stopped watching when you said to not slam a warmogs onto early tanks. That was a bit of a head scratcher there, tbh.

    • @tamura77tft
      @tamura77tft  2 года назад

      I was illustrating that matching items to unit abilities matters a lot. If you think warmogs has more value than Sunfire or redemption early, I strongly disagree with you.
      Of course it's not bad on an early front line unit but it offers less stats early/mid game than other options.

  • @JosephDiveley

    #1 mistake ... thinking that you will get the unit you need if you roll down far enough
    #2 mistake ... thinking the items you want to build will actually appear or not get taken from other players
    #3 mistake ... trying to win early and getting item screwed because you're picking last on the carousel because you're an idiot who likes to pretend he can stay in first all game (Thank you BTW)
    #4 mistake ... thinking TFT gods will actually give you a useful augment and building around said augment you are hoping for
    #5 mistake ... trying to make a 1 cost unit three star even though your level 5 and wasting gold on rerolls to do it.
    #6 mistake ... deciding what team comp your going for before you get your first augment or any actual units because you don't plan to adapt to what the game gives you
    #7 mistake ... not spending time to figure what items best enhance which heroes
    #8 mistake ... taking big point losses because you didn't level up when other players are two levels higher than you as though your 5 units can beat their 7 units
    #9 mistake ... taking big point losses because your artifacts are all on the bench instead of being made into useful items and being on heroes
    #10 mistake ... thinking thieves gloves suck even though you have heroes with scrap on them /rolleyes
    My list ... I claim it from my pain ...

    • @JosephDiveley
      @JosephDiveley 2 года назад

      #11 mistake ... not watching videos from players like Tamura77 TFT who are kind enough to share their wisdom on the game. Watch and research if you want to get better. You are at a good start by watching this video if it's your 10th time rewatching it =)

    they have to remove the loss streak stuff, its just boring and really lame, someone who has a loss streak not only gets all the gold, but also chooses his items, thats really stupid as a game design, you get too many rewards for losing so most of people lose on purpose, then we need some sort of protection against too lucky people, nobody should be so lucky to get multiple 2stars or even 3stars at very early stages and also the abilities you get which are RNG must be nerfed, some of them are very OP and some are useless and its very unfair if RNG is in such an important game aspect involved.

      If the game is soley rng, why are good players able to climb straight to masters within a few days (maybe longer), but the majority of the player base will be stuck somewhere around gold at their peak?
