Anna and Rapunzel are my favorite because I relate to them--as someone who is often pegged as over-excited or "too talkative" it was really nice having non-put-together/goofy princesses, they made me feel understood and deserving of love/adventure!

Pocahontas deserves higher. Anna is kinda dumb imo
I loved Ariel for her hair, when I was little ~ and because she was a mermaid. I felt like I understood the plot, and it made sense to me, but then when people would talk to me about the movie with such disdain, I had to wonder if we'd watched the same movie.
I also loved Mulan and was obsessed with her silky black hair until she cut it off (my people value long hair, so that scene was a shock for me when I was little).
However, when Tangled came out, Rapunzel became my favorite princess - even when the Frozen sisters came along. I love ice powers and all that jazz, but I always found the story of Rapunzel intriguing. I used to have some little snap-clothing "Polly Pocket" type dolls that weren't Polly Pocket that was Rapunzel themed. I used to play with the dolls all the time. (I also have a Cinderella set, but I wasn't as intrigued by such a broadly used story base).
Again, I think it was the hair thing. Idky. And they cut her hair in that story, too! Of which -yeah, it's cute, but the long hair is better. Her hair is like an extension of who she is.
[Edit upon video progression]: Rapunzel MAY be the *start* of all the "clumsy princesses", but it makes sense for her character. She's been holed up in a tower all her life and is treading around with her hair on the ground all the time. She's also done nothing but read about other people's lives in books, and daydream about all the different things she could do, places she could see and people to meet. She doesnt have any social experience with anyone other than mother Gothel and Pascal. The issue was people loved her "too much" that Disney got lazy and started replecating those traits and now she gets the flack for being a fun and interesting character.

So, I am totally binging your ranking videos now!
My number one princess is actually Princess Calla from the TV series Disney Adventures of the Gummi Bears. As a little girl, she was a role model for me and I still think she’s a great character and a perfect blend of feminine and masculine traits, with an emphasis on balance and intelligence.
But…if we’re talking just movies-
1: Belle. She was the first Princess that felt like me. She looked like me, loved fantasy and imagination, and was a book nerd! And I love that she’s assertive and puts down boundaries with the beast.
2: Ariel, I love her free spirit, her creativity. I love her animated series and I was always drawn to her curiosity and her friendliness.
3: Jasmine, I love her spunky attitude but I love she has things to learn. She genuinely cares for her people (especially in the animated series) and her and Aladdin have such great chemistry. They work so well off each other.
4: Anna, she’s so fun. I think she acts so much like a real person. I still love the scene where she wakes up. So relatable. And her growth is incredible over the movies.
5: Merida, I actually really love Brave. Merida reminds me a lot of Calla. Her design is perfect and I adore her accent. And it’s so nice to see a mother-daughter relationship get focus.
6: Mulan. I mean, it’s Mulan! I adore her personality. She’s awkward but never loses her determination. That sheer will is so inspiring and I think she’s so beautiful in any form!
7: Cinderella, I really like how Cinderella 3 expanded upon her personality. Her main personality is kindness and I think that is so important. I adore her interactions with her nice friends and later with the prince.
8: Tiana, it took me a bit to warm up to Tiana because her movie isn’t my favorite but I love how hard she is willing to work for her dream! It’s so inspiring. And her friendship with Charlotte is adorable. Seeing her and Naveen warm up to one another is beautiful character development.
9: Rapunzel. She’s a bubbly and fun character. Her naviete and genuine love to discover something new is infectious and I really felt for her. I wanted her to get her dream so badly!
10: Snow White, pretty similar to Cinderella. I love her kindness. It’s her key trait but it’s one of my favorite traits to see in characters. Her and the dwarves are so fun to see interact, especially Grumpy, Dopey and Doc. Kinda wish we could see a follow up to see more of her personality.
11: Elsa, I know it’s kinda blasphemous to put her so low but I do still like her. Just not as much as the others. I adore her voice and I like her a lot in the spring and holiday shorts they did more so than the movies. I like when she’s happy and she’s not very happy in her movies!
12: Pocahontas, so I always found Pocahontas a bit bland. I don’t dislike her but I actually thought her best friend Nakoma was a more interesting personality. Again, I don’t dislike Pocahontas but she just was never a favorite. Still enjoy her movie. I actually like her a lot more in two!
13: Aurora, this is funny because Sleeping Beauty is my favorite Disney movie but I love it for the fairies. Aurora…there’s just not much to her. I love her design and Mary Costa does make a marvelous voice

I like what you said about her being more introverted and having people against her, unlike the other princesses. It's certainly an interesting aspect to her!!

This is such a great list because I love the way you compliment on most of the good things the Disney Princesses do instead of just ranting on most of them because most people hate on other things just for the sake of hating, and they said that most Disney Princesses are not good role models even though they never pay attention to the movies.
But the way you talk about these princesses makes us realize that they're all amazing and perfect in their own ways.
You have such a good list that now I want to see a video of you ranking the unofficial Disney Princesses because there's so many amazing female characters that Disney tries to leave out just because they're not "marketable" enough. *(It would even mean the world to me if you included Sofia from "Sofia the First," Elena from "Elena of Avalor," and Giselle from "Enchanted" on your unofficial Disney Princess ranking because they never get any love just because Sofia and Elena are from TV shows instead of movies, and Giselle is a live-action princess for most of her movie. Sofia and Elena go through a lot of challenges to become better throughout most of their episodes, and Giselle begins to get used to the real world while also keeping her optimism at the same time, and that's amazing).*
Ariel and Tiana are also two of my favorite Disney princesses! My other favorites are Moana and Merida. I am so excited to meet all of them when I go to Disney World later this year. I love how Ariel is a mermaid and she loves to sing, And I love Tiana‘s determination and her love for cooking. I also love Moana’s singing voice, and Merida’s accent. Another one of my absolute favorite Disney heroines is Mirabel from Encanto. I love her bubbly personality and her voice.

Thumbelina and Anastasia were made by Don Bluth. When Disney bought Fox, one of the conditions was Anastasia wasn’t allowed to become a Disney princess
