I agree I liked that it wasn’t a typical bg debut with very loud in your face, it was a straight vibe. They have potential vocally and I think their dancing is already there. Excited for them.

i really hope and believe their voices will develop when they all become adults and get used to their own voices and the changes they’re going through as teenagers because this debut is very promising! and i hope they keep this sound without indulging into the loud stereotypical boy group sound
Loved your reaction! To give some insight, during the survival show, a contestant named Sodai was actually the best singer in the show and in my top 7 and he had a nice full sounding voice. He did well in Part 1 but during Part 2 he started overthinking a lot and when he would go onstage, he would tense up and his voice would be weaker than usual. It was sad for fans of his and JYP because JYP said straight up "Your the best singer in the show, you just need to not be in your head so much" Unfortunately, he couldn't get out of his head and was eliminated before the finals. People were worried that with Sodai eliminated, who would be the Main Vocal, but I think Tomoya and Yuki have a strong potential. Tomoya ranked 2nd in vocals despite being a Main Dancer which shows he's very serious about singing. If he wasn't he would be more reliant on his dance and Yuki's voice has shown the biggest improvement, and fun fact, Han and Changbin are in love with Yuki's voice which I find adorable lol.
I actually really liked this debut. One of my favourites from this year. I have to say i wasn't the biggest fan of the chorus at first but now that ive listened to it more I actually enjoy it!! The choreo looks really fun aswell!!

I wanted you to get this so bad, especially how fresh it is, and you did ! I agree that the vocals have POTENTIAL. I also recommend watching the Performance37 for Ride The Vibe (yes, it's filmed better than the actual official performance video trust me) cause you see more of the choreo and their personalities shine a lot

Funny how we have different perspectives and opinions over their vocals. I found that I really prefer their softer tones over powerful vocals or more impactful. I think it suits these songs better and makes it easier to listen to. I also really like the tones of their voices compared to most groups, specially Yuki, Yu and So Geon. They don't have any powerhouse vocalist, but I really don't think they need to have one to sound good as a whole or to bring life to the song. And unlike some other groups out there, they don't really have bad vocalists either, even the rappers are decent vocalists.
Yeah I totally get this and why I was wondering if them having some of those softer airy vocals would’ve been great but maybe it’s a nice change.
I think they sound a bit more confident when they sing in japanese, I wonder how the japanese debut will be, the potential is there
I think Yuki has big potential to become good vocalist. He auditioned to survival show to be dancer and without vocal experiment but he improved a lot. Also Tomoya is actually very good bc durning survival show he did very good. At least they can sing live with stable vocal but I agree that they still need to improve

You have to realize a lot of these guys are still going through vocal changes. The majority of the members are under 18 still and their voices are changing. Yuki especially is going through a massive vocal change. He's still 16! If you hear him at the beginning of the show, he literally sounds like a child. I think he's currently in the awkward voice stage where he can't sing that high or that low.
Yeahh that’s why I said at the end I hope they grow and develop but that rarely happens with other idols who have also aged through debut years so I don’t have much hope

@@Koko3op JYPE has a Chinese group boy story whose members all debuted younger than Nexz (Stray Kids & ITZY sunbaes), and their voices turned out well. I think they are under the right company to monitor and help them.
Yu is just GORGEOUS.
im sure these boys will improve more in the future since they all auditioned for dance position but already sounded this good, we can see some improvement in the future i hope

I think these guys have great potential in the vocal department, they just need more time. They all signed up as dancers if I remember correctly, so vocals and rap are something they need to work hard at. And considering this, and that some are going through voice change too, I think they are doing brilliantly. I really look forward to their future comebacks, it's only going to improve from here. As always, their dance / performance was 🔥🔥🔥 And yeah, I think Yu's body roll has a whole fan base of its own. You should hear the screams during live performances 🤣

Its really interesting to hear your opinions about their vocals. Actually, I also preferred strong vocals when I listened to a song. But, this song, ride the vibe is really a hit song for me, I don't know why. I know it's not a vocally on point song like BM 'like that', but ride the vibe is my go to chill song for me. When I know they all auditioning for dance position it makes sense now, their stage performance is hella crazy. But I feel like they have a lot of potential in term of vocals, being male teenagers whose going through puberty is challenging for their vocals, I think. I've been seeing a lot of their content now, and I think this is my second boygroup I would stan
I think we need to remember that some songs were made to be sung a very specific way and feel so I have no doubt they could sing the hell out of that chorus but it wasn't the vibe the producers wanted. Also a lot of these songs are made with the idea that they are gonna be running around and dancing really hard. I really want them to get some sort of ballad in a comeback so they can slow down a bit and really show off thier vocals because I do believe they are very capable vocalists.

I agree with your thoughts. However, this group is passionate and has a high rate of improvement. At the time of the audition, there were a few members who were not on pitch with their singing.

the more i listen to their debut the more i dont mind their vocals being weak but i am curious to hear what the chorus would sound like with someone like jay chang singing it (or anyone with a stronger voice). The song is good either way I’m happy they didn’t go with a typical debut sound. I’m looking forward to their improvement for sure

I wanna stan them so bad 😭 But I usually resonate more with vocalists in g/b groups, so I do feel you with the vocals. I also agree when you said, (not exactly, but this was what I picked up based on what you said) if a group were to do a song with rnb/rock/neo-soul, or whatever genre, the vocals should also match the style of the song.
I recommend you to watch their variety video on its live channel, at the end of the video three members covered rush hour song by crush, they really have the potential to improve, so try to stan them especially they are really talented in dancing and performing
Check out their debut showcase vids. they have grown so much since NIZI project :) I think watching the survival show performances is not the best way to judge their vocals yet as they haven't had any proper trainings back then :)
I was actually judging their vocals mainly on the main songs. Of course I reacted to what I was hearing from the survival show but I WAS AWARE that's obviously not them at their best. I mainly saved my feedback on their vocals on the actual released songs, how are some of you missing this.
They may have not strong vocalists yet, but what annoyed me in your review that you really judged their vocals in that first performance here 1:56 when that was a stage in their survival show where they were not even trained to sing yet, you have to realise that that performance was almost 6 months ago, also take into consideration that all of these boys auditioned to the dance position in the show, none of them auditioned as a vocalist, so yeah they have underwhelming vocals and thats expected for a dance focued group.
I recommend you to watch their variety video on a channel called "its live", in that video three of the members did a cover to rush hour song by crush and jhope and they sounded really good so I'm sure they will improve in the furure, the cover was at the end of the video if you want to skip the first half.
That was me just reacting to it in the moment and I was more so listening to the song as I mentioned. I started from scratch once I got to their actual songs and yeah I’m not surprised none of them auditioned to be vocalists but I do hope they develop in their own way.

He also makes some valid points, especially about judging the boys' vocals based on a performance from a survival show six months ago. While I agree there is room for vocal improvement, let's ensure our discussions remain respectful.

I never said I was an expert so not sure why you expected that lool. Most groups have “refined soft vocals”, which is kinda the problem these days but I actually said I liked the debut overall at the END if you got there.
It seems you either didn’t finish the reaction or you were not after a well rounded perspective because I explain what I want vocally from them which doesn’t change who they are either.

I think this is inaccurate. XG's concept (alien, extraterrestrial, extraordinary, inventive) is far different from NEXZ's (vibey, R&B, hip-hop, fresh).
@@Stan_Nexz I agree the theme isn’t the same i was thinking more so sonically how they produced songs. XG might give extraterrestrial but the sound has R&B and Hip-Hop
This is so random but I suggest u check out the new boy group DXMON. Their pre debut burn up focus on a lot of rap, their debut song spark also have some good rap too. Their recent comeback girls, love boys love girls is focused more on catchy vibe so please check them out
