Thanks for showing us how really easy-peasy it is to "pinch" cosmos for better, stronger plants...and have the added bonus of more plants. 💚😊💚

You’re welcome! I don’t use any trellises, so pinching is a MUST for my cosmos or they would definitely be falling over lol🌱💚

Thank you for this exact video I have been looking for. I pinched my cosmos down as far as you did then afterwards I said was that too radical. But after seeing your video I feel reassured I did it right. 🌼🏵

You’re welcome! You can honestly pinch above any set of leaves and you can’t go wrong. It’s so easy! Good luck and I hope your Cosmos turn out beautiful🌱💚

@@crochetgardenrepeatMy cosmos seedlings true leaves look bunched together and tight so hoping pinching will help them branch out .

So I've been looking and looking in this video is the best one easy to follow for pinching thank you. Mine are leggy. I'm thinking I don't have enough soil in my pot. Should I have the soil almost to the top of my pot? Mine just seem tall and leggy. Also how much should I be watering? Started from seed I have grow light on them as well

Thank you for the comment. I’ll try my best to help you out. Leggy just means they aren’t getting enough light. Grow lights need to be 3-4 inches above seedlings and on for 14 hours. Grow lights aren’t as strong as the sun. I would gradually reach 14 hours. So let’s say you’ve only had them on for 8 hours, then I would add 1 hour each day until you get to 14. So, like 9 hours the next day, 10 hours the next day, etc. You can add soil if there’s still room in your pots. Water them whenever the soil feels dry. They don’t like overwatering. I hope this helps!🌱💚

Good video but this half didn't work for me. The pinched tops died in a week even though they were placed in their own small pots and watered well. Unfortunately, the main plants got killed by slugs/snails, so I have a new set that I'm trying to grow. Will update this if it works. Any idea why my pinched tops all died?

I’m sorry that happened. They can die from too much water or not enough humidity or fungal disease. Rooting hormone is a great way to have success too. Sending you luck🌱💚

Unfortunately groundhogs ate them after I planted them outside. Hopefully we won’t have any this year roaming around🌱💚

Thank you! 8-12” apart is what I do for good air circulation🌱💚

If you watch the video where I plant them, you’ll see an update. Unfortunately after that a groundhog ate them all. I was so sad. I’ll try to grow them again next year.
