Sometimes there is a kind of leprosy inside of us...we look all nice & decked up on the outside but we are having inner wounds which are oozing bitterness & stinking inside of us! Jesus is waiting to heal us but like the leper we do not be humble enough or do not show that faith at times, in spite of all the blessings Jesus has showered on us b4. Thank you Fr. Warner for reminding us constantly by ur reflections that Jesus is still approachable no matter how much we r stinking on the inside. The cry of the leper is the cry of many people we come in contact with everyday. In the words of the Psalmist 118:5-6 "IN MY ANGUISH I CRIED TO THE LORD AND HE ANSWERED BY SETTING ME FREE" ... Let my faith be firm and strong like the leper, hoping for a miracle, freeing me of my infirmities. And my Saviour who is full of compassion reaches out to all with his healing touch. Thank you Fr. Warner. I've always felt Jesus told him to tell no one, knowing it would be impossible for an isolated leper to show up into town healed. Then, as the leper had been exiled, Jesus was then forced to a brief desolation as if he were taking on that punishment for the healed man. I pray to have the faith that man had and move forward from my own struggles. Thank you for always ending in prayer.

Well said Fr. Most people are so tight lipped when it comes to speaking of the wonders of the Lord. When we conduct a retreat and ask for participants to come forward and give their testimony, you find them fighting shy. The psalmist very clearly tells us not to keep silent, but to tell of the wonders of the Lord in the congregation. I always say that, I'm a miracle receiveing person, and a testimony giving person. Give to God what is due to Him....here meaning - all the glory.
Dear Fr Warner - your reflection today was so thought provoking.The leper broke all social convention & the law in his desperate attempt to be healed. He did not doubt that Jesus was the Messiah who could cleanse him both physically & spiritually. Throughout the gospel Jesus reaches out to people with immeasurable love. I pray and praise and thank God for every little blessing and healing that comes my way but I have, many a time, failed to give glory to God by sharing what He has done for me. Deeply sorry, forgive me Lord. And thank you Fr. Warner for pointing it out to us.
Lepers in those times were despised, unwanted and not welcome by society as explained by Fr. Warner. They even carried a bell and would ring it as soon as they got close to other people as a warning that there's a leper around. St. Mother Teresa gave us a good example by welcoming lepers in her homes, kissing their wounds, nursing them, and even praying with and for them. I wish I could be able to do this act of compassion to these people.

Hello Fr. At that time, patient's suffering from dreadful skin disease like leprosy was treated out-cast n untouchable. St.MOTHER TERESA of Kolkata has opened home's in the world for leprosy patients, she is in heaven with the LORD. JESUS, you have cured the man with a dreadful skin disease, when he saw u he said "sir if u want to, u can make me clean."
