Hi Lilly, been awhile since we've chatted to one another! Great to see a few new videos on your channel. I haven't been doing too much photography of late...haven't been all that well, so things have fallen by the wayside. But, I have started with producing cyanotype prints of some of my pictures. Just coated some paper today and I'll expose the negatives either tomorrow or the next day. May have to give the paper another coat of the liquid, but that's OK. Might even have a go at some salt prints as well. Got a few good recipes for salting paper, so I may try them all out and see which one works the best. Good to see your new house is working out OK. Hope you managed to get that floor and ceiling worked out and rebuilt! Looks like there's a few good spots to get pictures in where you are now. I'm in the same boat as you with transport. Most of the time I just rely on buses and shank's pony to get around. Might be limiting, but it gets you to work harder with what you've got to get what you want to get. Anyway, that's enough rambling from me. Hope you're well and it's good to see you posting videos😊😊
@@LillySchwartz I learn a lot from those POV videos as they connect a scene to a picture😃 - in terms of seeing and taking the picture. Keep up your great work! 🖖
That’s how I use those videos too. It helps me reflect on what I can improve next time because I can remember the context better. For example, I should have remembered to take a red filter with me for the shots at the end. It’s even more pronounced with street photography. I always notice shots I missed with my POV videos.
It does have a strange zone quality with that path along that fence! Only found it by accident, nice short cut that spares me about 10 minutes of walking along a boring motorway until I can hear all that quak, quak, quak.
Thanks for a short trip back to nature. Serves as a reminder of how far removed from nature we are these days. I also noticed the babies in the background, I want one.... lol. I remember my Calimero when I grew in franc land. Ok stay well chao
Yes the plushies. And I always related to Calimero because of the horrible abuse by the Swiss nuns in kindergarten. Long story. I won't bore you with the details. I survived and that is what matters. I have 3 old movie projectors you can have if you want. I don't know how old they are, but the leika and landscape camera I keep, sorry. I assume you, like me collect photographic stuff? I did until recently, hint hints. But let me know if you have any interest and I can send you some pictures
Well produced as always! Rolls from 2017, errrmmmm, that sounds a bit familiar here too, oeps! I admit to having a couple of rolls about which the only information I know is the EI which was used and the year -- this is what happens when the plastic bags dividing up the 'shoots' break in the larger bag and get mixed up. Enjoy your (rainy?) Spring :)
Thank you! I’m glad you liked it! I actually have a super OCD Excel spreadsheet where I have notes on film camera, dev, location with an index number which I write on the canister as soon as I finish the roll. That way I always know what I’m developing and I can easily find any negative I’m looking for. With 1000+ rolls in the archive it’s very necessary and I wouldn’t be able to figure out which POV footage goes with which roll otherwise. I really need to get those rolls from 2017 out of the way. It’s colour film and I always drag my heels on that.
I’m glad you enjoyed it! 😀 I’m working on a couple of projects that will be accompanied by music, definitely. My Progress through Demolition project will have a field recording soundtrack and my project hypnagogia actually goes with a photo project I’ve been working on for a few years already - a few of the pictures have made it into the liner notes already, but eventually I’m hoping to have it turn into a book publication.
Wonderful video. I just bought that same lens. I have been trying different 50mm fast lenses to see which has the effect I like best. So far I have tried the 7Artisans 50mm f1.1 and the TTArtisans 50mm f0.95. I did have the Nikon 58mm f1.2 when I used to use my Nikon F. Kind of thinking the Voigtlander f1.1 will give me the best compromise between them all and then I will sell the others.
Thank you Anthony! It really is a lovely lens, best of both worlds, quirky and swirly wide open and real sharp and modern looking stopped down. There is another video about it on my channel where I show more results from it if you’re interested. I’ve already shot more than a hundred rolls with it, so it’s one of my staples. What did you think of the TTartisans lens? I was always curious about it, but I’m happy with the Voigtländer. By the way, another lens I really love is the Voigtländer Nokton 35mm f/1.2. I have video about that in the pipeline, but it’s not quite ready yet.
@@LillySchwartz aah - I purchased the 35mm f 1.4 - and can’t wait to go outside (rainy Wuppertal 😩). I wasn‘t aware of a 35mm f 1.2 version, but I really like the small (almost tiny 1.4)😍 size
@acid_gray the 1.2 is quite big, but it’s versatile and renders in a quite modern way even wide open. Usually I take it as my main lens when I travel and I really love it at night. The 50mm is very different and I don’t really like it at night. Perfect for low ISO film during the day though, especially in a nature setting. Cursed rain everywhere. It’s been really cold and rainy around here for this time of year too. There must be some sort of photography law that guarantees rain after new gear purchases. I bought a new GoPro in November. Promptly it started raining and it hasn’t really stopped since 🙄
I was walking with my F5 in suburbs of Hamburg and take some photos of old buildings and houses. And than some old german fuck came out with: Was soll das? And than he run in house and come back out with handy and took my picture... Nice to see that there are places where Ausländer can freely walk and enjoy photography without being bullied. That strange building at 2:25 look like government or military building...In Germany I would for sure avoid to photograph that. Your photos look nice.
Thank you, I’m glad you like the pictures. That sort of thing can happen here too, but if you’re apologetic about it and don’t force the issue, telling them that their garden looks nice or whatever they usually calm down and all is well. Same with street photography. A lot of it is about attitude? If I walk around with a frown taking pictures I get more backlash than if I go at it with a smile and maybe an antique camera. I photographed the suburbia near Düsseldorf with a Zeiss folding camera from the 1920s and everyone I met was just curious about the camera. Tricks like that help to keep confrontations to a minimum for me. Annoying that you had such a bad experience! I sure had my fair share of those too while I was still living in Germany.
I am always in awe of your thoughtful processes in all the things you do. You are are a rare and unique flower in this world. Wonderful.
Aw, thank you for your kind words ✨
It’s so good to see a new POV video. And you have to love Delta 100, eh? I’ve used it in 4x5 and it’s really delicious stuff.
I always love your black & white photography, and the color grading of this video looks really lovely. 📷😻

Lovely pictures and strong composition - thanks, Lilly!

Hey, thank you for another photo tour! "Let's see, if we can get a bit lost." - golden! Cheers, N. & O.
Hah, glad you enjoyed it! Kinda hard to get lost these days with GPS on the phone, but I do manage to find places where nobody ends up randomly 😘
Thank you, Сталкер, for postcards from the Zone 😉
