  • Here I am driving over the Francis Scott Key Bridge. This steel arch bridge crosses the Patapsco River and Baltimore Harbor. This video was filmed driving on Maryland I-695 eastbound in Baltimore, MD in a tractor trailer.
Fort Carroll can be seen in the middle of the water off in the distance. It is on an artificial island and is an abandoned hexagonal sea fort.
    I hope you enjoy!
    Recorded on 8/10/2020.

Just one hit and destroyed entire bridge. Engineers should think about this when they plan.

They will have to rethink now their safety when these big ships going under these bridges with workman on them the length of the bridge I think over one half miles they would had to given plenty time to get off bridge Walkie talkies the whole safety side will have to be looked at and risk assessment to be looked at perhaps none ships allowed to go out night under bridge as workers on it safely again in the risk assessment. Roads shut when workers on them at times. Just thought.

Not easy to survive 130,000 tons moving 10 knots hitting, basically perfectly orthogonal to the span, a deep-water mid-span pier . I'm dubious any existing bridge in the US could do it.

Uh no!! That bridge was so torn up in 2020! I would not go on it! That condition needed to be reported... no wondering nearly the whole thing fell down. They need to prioritize finding those men and bringing them out and to their families.
