You should clean the egr valve and the intake manifold as well and change the fuel filter because all of that can cause power loss. Keep up the diesel content those engines are easy to work on 🤟🏼
AXR is the same as ATD and AVB from the Passat 3BG, and no ALH is 110bhp so in terms of bhp it is more powerful, also AGR is 90bhp both of them are VE ;)
@@VWPassat_3BG Nope ALH/AGR are 90hp VE, whilst the AHF/ASV engines are 81kw 110hp VE engines, AXR is in Europe 74kw whilst in the USA it was the BEW engine. And the ALH uses a VNT system while the AGR still has the waste gate turbo
I have also had the axr 1.9 tdi the engine block can hold much extra power. Also things to look for are timing belt (needs to be changed every 90.000 km) and fuel filter, egr delete plate. And you also said that the powersteering makes some noise but that sounds to me like a alternator pully (very reconiseble sound)
as many have said definitely clean the egr valve, or even better, look into an EGR delete kit, id run some injector cleaner thru her to try and clean up the injectors a little bit, and yes these engines sound phenomenal straight piped, its not that loud either, that flat pipe your talking about in the back is the pancake pipe, id replace the whole thing with a decent air intake, youl get beautiful turbo sounds too from the intake 😍
I also got a Golf IV 1.9 Tdi Axr 101 ps with 17" Santa Monica Wheels. Which suspension you could recommend. It's my daily car and should not be super low, only about 30 max 40 mm lower.
I had a MK4 golf TDI and I put a hybird turbo, bigger injectors, front mount intercooler, better waterpump, full straight pipe from turbo and then a Remap I got 220-230hp and good torque

If it's the e brake cable that's stuck just replace it. They have tiny seals at the end at the caliper. If they go bad water gets in and rust it solid. First night it freezes it'll be stuck as well or best case scenario in a few weeks it rusts again
It’s not the lowest one but it’s a Pd so it’s a great engine. Just look out for cam belt change, oil change, fuel filter, oil filter and interior filter. Other than that, check out for fluids and usual maintenance.
It is normal for these Golf IV and V's that the rear callipers gets stuck. It needs to be changed. To avoid it you can clean and lube the pins regularly, or just buy TRW-parts.
Do the timing belt,it s a must on TDI s , because even if the belt doesn’t snap the tensioner or the water pump could fail and than the whole block is trash and I would check the fuel filter also because it looks pretty old and rusty. Keep up the great content!
Clean egr/or delete, oil and oilfilter every 15k, vacuum lines is often very destroyed. And just a FYI let the engine varm up before giving it loads of throttle. If a TDI is driven properly it can easy get to 650-700.000 km :) but love the TDI on the channel, i have had 2 AXR TDI and they drive awesome!!

Only the Red TD"I" VE Bosch injection pump ASV 110hp, and the all silver TDI classic ALH 90hp, my favorite because I own one haha. Ps: this only applies to Europe not sure about the rest of the world :D and forgot to add the all Classic SDI 68hp without a turbocharger.
Also, keep an eye on the camshaft, I’m not sure if the euro spec TDI’s had the same issues as the US spec TDI’s, but the US spec TDI’s had issues with the camshafts wearing and going bad or the lifters breaking apart. Also, do the timing belt if you don’t know when it was done last.
Great content, but if i remeber correctly, smallest hp for 1.9tdi is 90, but its not PD. Talking about pd, I’ve heard, best of them are 130 or 150hp. Also it looks fuel filter never been changed. Brake caliper should have spring for ebrake release. They cost me 5€ for both
Leave the stock intake setup. It really is the best setup to run, as weird as that sounds. Only worthwhile upgrade would be if you got an old man intake pipe, look it up if you aren’t sure what I’m talking about. Also, change that fuel filter ASAP!!!

Clean or delete your EGR " i don't know if its legal in Deutschland" , do an oil change with fresh filters (oil, diesel , air, pollen) , change your coolant fluid , also when doing the tensionner check the alternator and other pulleys ;)

Egr delete Pd 150 tip pipe Tune To start you’ll notice a huge difference in how the car drives with just that or even just a tune Maintenance wise also should definitely be replacing the timing belt unless u have paper work for when it was done last
You should never delete the EGR especially if he/she is using the car as a daily drive. The good thing or best to do is to leaving the ASV Incase of engine runaways and removed the EGR only not deleting it completely
Clayton S if your are worried about a runaway. All u gotta do is put in 5th and press brake till the car stalls out. But yes I do understand your point and it’s true and just a matter of personal preference imo
Yeah you can shut the engine that way too, but what's the point to remove the ASV ? Im actually im into the pd engine's for quite long time now was owning pd150 with hybrid gtb2060 (260bhp) i also have pd100 avb with gtb1756 hybrid somewhere 220ish bhp and pd130blt ( the pd130 is still in current build for 330bhp not a daily just for drag racing) i just love these engine's :)

Depend's some turbos are noisier than others my VE 90hp ALH in my Mk4 Dosen't make almost any turbo noise, whilst my friends PD130 mk4 makes some small amount of turbo noise, tipical for those PD engines and my gran dad's Mk5 PD105 makes a lot more of turbo noise for a long time and for 300k Km it goes like the first day when it was new, all regual servicing and such.
They did these in so many engine powers 90, 105, 110, 115, 130 (6spd) and 150 (6spd) if you want to know anything about diesel tuning you have to check out Darkside developments they know everything about diesel VAG cars they have a channel on here. ruclips.net/user/darksidetdi Just swap the door handles from the V5. If your swapping the interior over from the v5 the back seats maybe a problem as the 4 motions have different rear floor plans.

Axr have 101 hp,less powerful tdi is Alh/Agr with 90hp. Tdi sounds crazy straight pipe,but polizei don't like that😂.

Fuel filter change is a must, also fill the new filter with Liqui Moly diesel purge, it'll clean the injectors and the combustion chamber

I’ve read that after quite a few miles on the tdi, the EGR gets clogged up and can be restrictive. You can deleted them or replace them

Yeah and the silver trim on the doors and the engine cover means it's the golf 25 anniversary edition with more equipment than standard.
PDs have red D and I, I myself own a PD 85kW, only ARL 110kW has his whole TDI red
In some of the pd ranges its a red i for the 100bhp di for the 130bhp and tdi for the 150bhp

Be careful golf MK4 it always overheat so watch out for any coolant leaks or pipe crack. I had a night mare in my both golf.

The PD115 also Isen't bad, whilst the PD150 had Camshaft wear problem*s if not using the correct 505.01 oil or not changing it regularly.

The rear bumpers on the golf wagons are actually shorter than the Jetta wagons so unfortunately the rear lip wouldn’t fit on your wagon
And pretty sure the AXR is actually the most powerful TDI in that gen could be wrong but pretty confident

I think it's illegal to delete your EGR because of emissions in Germany as the vehicle must pass inspection each year.
